A sales management system includes a registration device having a processor configured to perform commodity registration based on operation of a customer who purchases a commodity. The sales management system also includes a gate device having a processor configured to execute error processing in response to receiving, as an input, information indicating that payment for the commodity registered by the registration device is completed is not input when the customer passes the gate device. The processor of the registration device is also configured to receive stop information indicating that the customer stops shopping without purchasing the commodity output information for passing the gate device. The processor of the gate device is also configured to receive, as the input, the information for passing the gate device, and allow passage of the customer without executing the error processing.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for minimizing computational processing for converting user resources to resources supported by third party entities. In particular, the system may be configured to determine that a user has scanned a code projected on an entity device via a third party application present on a user device of the user, wherein the entity device is associated with an entity, establish a first connection with the entity device, establish a second connection between the user device and the entity device based on determining that the user has scanned the code, determine that the user has inserted user resources into the entity device, via the first connection, convert the user resources to resources supported by a third party entity, and display in real-time, information associated with the resources on the third party application.

Implementations of the present disclosure provide a service processing method, device, and system associated with unified resource locator (URL)-based two-dimensional (code). In an implementation, a URL is received from a first service institution. The URL is obtained by a mobile device from scanning a 2D code provided by a service provider and sent to the first service institution. The URL is then parsed to identify one or more data elements including a service network identifier, a service institution identifier, and a payload including a service object identifier. The one or more data elements is sent to the second service institution based on the service institution identifier. Service information associated with the service object is received from the second service institution based on the service object identifier, and the service information is sent to the first service institution for presenting on the mobile device.

A system is disclosed for dispensing a product sample to a consumer that includes a storage compartment for holding a plurality of spherical pods each containing a product sample in a closely-packed assemblage, a dispensing area communicating with the storage compartment and including an access port accessible by a consumer to obtain a single spherical pod, a dispensing wheel mounted for rotation adjacent the dispensing area for transferring a single spherical pod from the storage compartment to the access port, and an agitator wheel mounted for movement within the storage compartment to agitate the spherical pods within the storage compartment so as to reduce friction between adjacent spherical pods in the closely-packed assemblage and promote movement of pods from the storage compartment towards the dispensing wheel.

A system and method for generating a notification of a price change for a transaction and facilitating an associated price adjustment based on electronic image capture of a paper receipt. An image capture system captures an electronic image of a paper transaction receipt, which is transmitted to a data extraction processor that extracts transaction receipt data from the captured electronic image. A unique key is generated by an authentication server that is matched to a transaction record to generate a reliability score for the OCRed image and to authorize price matching. If the price monitoring server identifies that the price of a purchased transaction item has changed, the price monitoring server automatically generates a notification to the user indicating the price change and an email to the customer service department of the merchant from which the transaction item was purchased, requesting a price adjustment that is credited back to the payment instrument.

Disclosed are various embodiments for a hosted point-of-sale service that provides the security features of card-present transactions for card-not-present transactions. The various embodiments of the present disclosure can be configured to receive a merchant identifier and a transaction amount for a transaction from a merchant terminal, as well as receive the merchant identifier and encrypted payment account data for the transaction. The encrypted payment account data can then be decrypted. An authorization request for the transaction is then generated based at least in part on the merchant identifier, the transaction amount, and the payment account data. The authorization request is then sent to a payment processor, which can route the authorization request to an authorizing entity via a payment network. An authorization response is received in response from the authorizing entity via the payment processor, and the contents are forwarded on to the merchant terminal.

A parking management system identifies vehicles in entrance lanes, exit lanes, or both, of a parking facility and provides a real-time vehicle inventory count. One or more beacons locate point of sale (POS) devices assigned to parking attendants to determine which of them are performing vehicle transactions. Vehicles can be associated with specific transactions, as well as the transaction-authorizing attendant and the barrier gate and vehicle travel lane to which the attendant is assigned. To reduce fraud, this transaction information can be monitored in real time by a web or mobile dashboard and analyzed in real time or upon attendant end-of-shift checkout. The parking management system also implements permit parking invitation techniques that provide registration, payment in advance or on demand, or both, for parking of an invitee's vehicle. These tasks are accomplished without an inviter's knowledge about the invitee, the invitee's vehicle, or both.

Various embodiments are directed to overlaying relevant product information in augmented reality via the use of near-field communication (NFC) and a product selection system. A user may authenticate into an application or user profile. Information about the user in the user profile may be used to determine which products are relevant to the user. Information related to the relevant products may then be displayed to the user in augmented reality, which improves at least the overall shopping and in-store experience.

There are provided systems and methods relating to checking and confirming merchandise purchased at shopping facilities. In one form, the system includes: a shopping cart containing merchandise items to be purchased; a sales transaction database; a point-of-sales system that creates transaction records identified by transaction identifiers; and a mobile device used by an employee that includes a sensor to scan a paper or digital receipt to obtain the transaction identifier and a camera to capture images of the items in the shopping cart. The system also includes a control circuit that receives the transaction identifier, accesses the database using the identifier to determine the purchased items; analyzes the images of the merchandise items in the shopping cart and creates a computer vision receipt listing detected items; compares the purchased items with the detected items; and takes an action if there is a discrepancy.
