Method for providing a digital representation of a transaction card in a mobile device
In accordance with a first aspect of the present disclosure, a method is conceived for providing a digital representation of a transaction card in a mobile device, comprising: detecting, by a near field communication unit of said mobile device, that the transaction card is in proximity of the mobile device; upon or after said detecting, performing, by a processing unit of said mobile device, the following steps: retrieving the digital representation of the transaction card from a digitization server; loading the digital representation of the transaction card into a memory of the mobile device; activating the digital representation of the transaction card for a predefined validity period; invalidating the digital representation of the transaction card if no successful near field communication transaction has been performed within said validity period. In accordance with other aspects of the present disclosure, a corresponding computer program and a corresponding mobile device are provided.
CARD ISSUING WITH RESTRICTED VIRTUAL NUMBERS
Various embodiments are directed to applying, via contactless card authentication, one or more restrictions to a virtual card number and generating the card number for use by a recipient. The one or more restrictions may be specifically personalized to the recipient and may include, for example, a merchant restriction, an amount restriction, a time period restriction, or a location restriction. The generated virtual card number along with the applied one or more restrictions may be consumed in various ways, such as writing the number to a blank card, transmitting the number directly to the recipient's computing device, etc., all via near-field communication.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR UPDATING AN EXISTING DYNAMIC TRANSACTION CARD
A system for securely updating an electronic transaction card held by an account holder with an additional account and/or account data is described. A dynamic transaction card may be securely updated with an additional account by using pre-stored shell data and/or inactive data, whereby the pre-stored shell data may be populated using data received from an issuer system and/or the inactive data may be activated via an activation signal received from a mobile device. A backend server may determine, via a fraud determination, expiration determination, and/or user-request, that new account data should be transmitted to an account holder. The dynamic transaction card may receive the data associated with a notification, update a display, instruct an EMV applet to use a key associated with a received EMV key identifier for signatures, and/or update any additional data stored on the dynamic transaction card.
Payment using a smart card and identification from the cloud
Systems and methods for payment using smart payment cards and identifying a payment recipient's financial institution through cloud-based applications are provided. The systems and methods may include a smart payment card including a touchscreen and internet connectivity capabilities. The smart payment card, after authenticating a user, may connect to a cloud-based application and determine, for a recipient chosen by the user, the recipient's bank account information. The smart payment card, after approval from the user, may then direct a payment to the recipient.
AUGMENTED REALITY CARD ACTIVATION EXPERIENCE
Various embodiments are generally directed to enhancing a card activation experience for an authorized card user when activating a new card by at least displaying various types of information related to the new card in augmented reality (AR) and allowing the user to perform the activation itself or experience other aspects of the activation process in AR. Information pertaining the successful activation of the card may also be provided to the user in AR.
SECURITY ARCHITECTURE ON A DIGITAL PAYMENT DEVICE (DPD)
A Digital Payment Device (DPD) including a Digital Transaction Processing Unit (DTPU), a Microcontroller Unit (MCU), and a command generation unit, wherein the command generation unit is operable to generate a DTPU command capable of being authenticated against a targeted security domain of the DTPU, the DTPU command including a payload capable of being executed by the DTPU; and the MCU is operable to communicate the DTPU command to the DTPU for execution by the DTPU.
CONTACTLESS CARD EMULATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method are described that enables mobile devices (e.g. including but not limited to a mobile phone or the like), to intercept and respond to contactless card authentication requests, allowing mobile devices to be used in place of contactless cards. Enabling mobile phone devices to emulate contactless cards decreases issues related to lost or damaged cards, enabling a single device to be used to provide tokens related to multiple different contactless cards, and leverages functionality of the mobile device to provide dual-factor authentication.
Dynamic transaction card for visual impairment and methods thereof
A dynamic transaction card that includes a number of layers, each of which may be interconnected to one another. For example, a dynamic transaction card may include an outer layer, a potting layer, a touch sensor layer, a display layer (including, for example, LEDs, a dot matrix display, and the like), a microcontroller storing firmware, Java applets, Java applet integration, and the like, an EMV chip, an energy storage component, one or more antenna (e.g., Bluetooth antenna, NFC antenna, and the like), a power management component, a flexible printed circuit board (PCB), a chassis, and/or a card backing layer. The card includes a secure element to receive visual impairment settings and alert data. A microprocessor can convert the alert data into impairment data based on the visual impairment settings. A display is generated based on the impairment data.
A METHOD FOR PERFORMING A PAYMENT PROCESS OF A USER BY A PAYMENT SYSTEM, AS WELL AS A CORRESPONDING PAYMENT SYSTEM
A method for performing a payment process involves receiving registration information from the user and transmitting the registration information to a card network of the payment system. The card network generates a payment token dependent on the at least one registration information and a corresponding cryptogram for the payment token. The payment token is received from the card network and stored. Payment data is generated using at least the payment token and omitting the cryptogram. The payment data is transmitted to a merchant usable to conduct a transaction with the merchant by the electronic computing device of the user.
PREDICTIVE AND CUSTOMIZABLE ROUND UP PLATFORM
Disclosed are various embodiments for predicting and customizing round-ups for various types of transaction. First, a computing device can access adjustment criteria for a user profile. The computing device can then generate an event listener configured to monitor events made in association with the user profile. When events are accessible by the event listener, the events are filtered or otherwise analyzed to identify a subset of the events that comply with the adjustment criteria. Individual ones of the events in the subset are adjusted by performing a round-up operation. The round-up operation can include adjusting a transaction amount by a predetermined amount and depositing the predetermined amount into the destination account.
