20220108283 · 2022-04-07 ·

A method and apparatus for processing a commerce transaction performed with a terminal reader for reading a card are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving transaction information for a merchant regarding a transaction involving the terminal reader without the terminal reader having an assigned terminal identifier (TID) that is used for transaction authorization and assigning the terminal reader a pre-allocated TID for the merchant as the assigned TID, where the pre-allocated TID is selected from a group of one or more pre-allocated available terminal IDs (TIDs) associated with the merchant, and using that pre-allocated TID to obtain authorization for the transaction.

METHOD OF AUTHENTICATING A CUSTOMER, METHOD OF CARRYING OUT A PAYMENT TRANSACTION AND PAYMENT SYSTEM IMPLEMENTING THE SPECIFIED METHODS
20220101286 · 2022-03-31 ·

The invention relates to the field of technical infrastructures that ensure the implementation of financial transactions between economic entities, in particular to payment systems that provide ease of use and confidential data security.

The present invention is the method of authenticating a customer, the method of carrying out a payment transaction comprising said authentication method, and the payment system implementing the specified methods, which ensure the achievement of a technical effect consisting in expanding the functionality of the payment system and reducing its vulnerability, in particular, by making it possible to conduct a payment transaction in a contactless way, on condition that the reference value of the customer authentication data is stored exclusively on the customer's device, as well as by combining the advantages of online and offline customer authentication procedures.

Systems and methods for provisioning point of sale terminals

A provisioning system is provided for terminals such as point of sale terminals. An interface device interfaces with a smart card and a provisioning server, providing initialization keys and security codes that are stored on the smart card. At a terminal, an initialization key from the smart card may be provided to the terminal if a correct security code is entered at the terminal. The terminal may then provide a terminal authorization package to the smart card. The terminal authorization package is stored on the smart card. At the interface device, the terminal authorization package is provided to the provisioning server. The terminal may then securely communicate transactions with an issuer server.

A system and method of tracking sales tax. The present invention separates and logs each sales tax for each purchase, which eliminates the need for keeping physical receipts on a yearly basis and having to tally sales tax when preparing tax returns.

CARD READER BASED PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS FROM A WEB BROWSER

This disclosure relates to systems and methods for processing electronic payments for customer purchases. In some implementations, a system receives a payment request from a merchant, and transmits payment information to a mobile computing device associated with the merchant. The payment information includes a transaction ID to identify the purchase, a purchase amount, and instructions that cause the mobile computing device to activate a card reader, present a notification of the purchase amount to the customer, receive an acceptance of the purchase amount from the customer, and authorize the card reader to process an electronic payment for the purchase amount. The system receives payment confirmation from the mobile computing device, and provides the parameter confirmation to the merchant.

TAP TO AUTOFILL CARD DATA

Various embodiments are generally directed to autofilling card data from a contactless card to a form of a computing device. An application may determine that a payment field of a form has received focus. The application may then receive encrypted data from a communications interface of a contactless card associated with an account. The application may then receive, from a server, verification of the encrypted data. The application may then receive, from the server, an encrypted account number associated with the account, and decrypt the encrypted account number to yield the account number. An autofill service of an operating system (OS) executing on the processor circuit, may then autofill the account number to the payment field of the form.

GIFT-TRANSFER SYSTEM
20210248667 · 2021-08-12 ·

An aspect of the present invention includes a method for transferring a gift using a gift-transfer application. A digital gift can be associated with a unique tag identifier on a gift item, and the unique tag identifier can be used to retrieve the digital gift. Specifically, the method includes associating the unique tag identifier with an electronic gift of a particular monetary value and using a payment portal to charge a financial account an amount equal to the monetary value. The method further includes the gift-transfer application receiving a request including the unique tag identifier to redeem the electronic gift and, in response, sending a plurality of value-allocation links along with respective options for applying the monetary value to an electronic gift card of a respective merchant.

Computer system and computer-implemented method for processing a payment transaction at a point-of-sale terminal

A payment network server for processing a payment transaction at a point-of-sale terminal is described. The server comprises a transaction module, a query module and a transfer module. The transaction module is configured to: (i) receive a payment transaction request comprising at least transaction details and a fund transfer indicator, the transaction details comprise at least a customer identifier, a merchant identifier, and a payment amount, the fund transfer indicator indicating that the payment transaction is to be processed by fund transfer; and (ii) transmit a payment transaction response indicating if the payment transaction is approved or refused to proceed.
