Magnetic stripe attachment and application for mobile electronic devices
A mobile electronic device such as a mobile phone includes wallet application software for receiving, storing, encrypting, and transmitting selected payment card data. A tab including a programmable magnetic stripe is associated with a controller for receiving transmitted payment card data and programming the stripe with selected data. The tab is mounted directly to the electronic device or to an attachment device removably coupled to the electronic device. The attachment device may comprise a case for the mobile electronic device that allows access to a user interface and display of the mobile electronic device.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE PROVIDING INDIRECT FUNDS ACCESS
A proxy card used at an ATM, or at any vendor store, that has a legacy point of sale unit or at a store with the smart point of sale. In general, it can be used with any vendor and otherwise as any credit or debit card might be used. The point-of sale unit interacts with a multi-source processing system (MSPS) that, instead of servicing a single money source, interacts with more than one of a plurality of monetary sources that may be associated with the proxy card. The money transferred from credit or debit accounts of the user may be either transferred directly or indirectly via a proxy central account associated with the MSPS that a user maintains.
Changing a financial account after initiating a payment using a proxy card
Apparatuses and methods for changing a financial account after initiating a payment using a proxy object, such as a proxy card, are disclosed. The proxy card is associated with multiple financial accounts, such as accounts associated with credit cards, debit cards, and pre-paid gift cards. A consumer presents the proxy card to a merchant to make a payment, and the merchant swipes the proxy card and processes the payment by sending transaction information to a financial system. A computer system associated with the financial system selects a payment account associated with the proxy card to use for the payment, and an authorization for the transaction is obtained. Later, the consumer is given a limited time within which he may change the financial account used for the payment, such as by using his mobile device to select a different account associated with the proxy card to use to obtain funds for the payment.
Mobile wallet payment vehicle preferences
In general, apparatuses, methods and computer program products for making contactless financial transactions utilizing a mobile wallet are disclosed. Particularly, a mobile wallet application is disclosed that utilizes, at least in part, user specific data to generate a payment vehicle recommendation for different transactions. The user specific data may include the active user profile, prior payment vehicle usage, user preferences for the type of transaction, user location, rewards programs associated with use of one or more payment vehicles, or the like, or combinations thereof.
Card Processing Methods and Systems
Example card processing methods and systems are described. The card processing system may receive a request to approve or reject a transaction using a multicurrency card with multiple account balances in multiple currencies. The transaction may be associated with a transaction amount in a transaction currency. In response to determination that the first account balance is not available or insufficient to fund the transaction amount, the card processing system may determine, from the multiple account balances, a second account balance in a second currency that is different to the transaction account to fund the transaction amount. An exchange rate may be selected for dynamic currency conversion of part or all of the second account balance from the second currency to the transaction currency; and a determination made as to whether to approve or reject the transaction based on the dynamic currency conversion using the selected exchange rate.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING THE DISTRIBUTION OF AID OR BENEFITS INVOLVING MULTIPLE PARTNERS SHARING AN INFRASTRUCTURE
A method for managing programs associated with multiple entities on a payment card includes: storing lease profiles, each lease profile including a lease identifier, managing identifier, transaction account numbers, and one or more tenant identifiers; receiving a management request, the management request including a specific lease identifier, specific managing identifier, and requesting tenant identifier; identifying a specific lease profile that includes the specific lease identifier; verifying that the specific managing identifier corresponds to the managing identifier included in the specific lease profile; inserting the requesting tenant identifier into the specific lease profile; receiving a program request, the request including the specific lease identifier, the requesting tenant identifier, and program data; and transmitting the program data to a payment card corresponding to one of the transaction account numbers included in the specific lease profile.
PAYMENT SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND PAYMENT METHOD THEREOF
An electronic device for making a payment is provided. The electronic device includes a display configured to receive a user command, a transceiver configured to communicate with an external device, and a processor configured to request a token associated with a financial service from a payment server when a user requests the financial service and to generate data for providing the financial service by using the token and service information when the token and the service information associated with the financial service is received from the payment server.
MULTI-LAYERED CREDIT CARD WITH TRANSACTION-DEPENDENT SOURCE SELECTION
Techniques are described herein for selecting an optimal financial account for a financial transaction. In an embodiment, a multi-account payment card is used to initiate a financial transaction. Transaction information of the financial transaction including a multi-account payment card ID is transmitted to a server for processing. The server determines that the multi-account payment card ID is associated with a plurality of financial accounts, wherein each of the plurality of financial accounts is associated with any one of a credit card, a debit card, an automatic teller machine (ATM) card, a gift card, or a credit line. A financial account of the plurality of financial accounts is selected by the server based on financial account information, such as anomalous transactions, associated with the plurality of financial accounts and the transaction information of the financial transaction. The financial transaction is then charged to the selected financial account.
SMART CARD AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
The present invention relates to a smart card including a sensor for sensing a finger touch and a controller for causing a first setting change by setting the smart card from a default payment method to a selected payment method, when a fingerprint of the user is recognized based on the finger touch sensed by the sensor; causing a second setting change by setting the smart card from the selected payment method to the default payment method when the fingerprint of the user and a fingerprint of a first person other than the user are simultaneously recognized and a first preset time elapses after completion of payment, and causing a third setting change by setting the smart card from the default payment method to the selected payment method when the fingerprint of the user and the fingerprint of the first person are simultaneously recognized again within a second preset time.
ELECTRONIC WALLET APPARATUS, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
Registration information for a plurality of consumers is obtained at an electronic wallet platform. A mechanism is provided to integrate the electronic wallet platform with a plurality of merchants. Via the electronic wallet platform, a given one of the consumers is afforded an option to select from multiple methods to pay for a transaction with a given one of the merchants. The multiple methods are based, at least in part, on the registration information. At least one of the multiple methods includes a virtual card number. Further steps include obtaining, from the given one of the consumers, a selection of the virtual card number for payment for the transaction; and providing the given one of the merchants with the virtual card number.
