System and method for transaction security enhancement
An initial communication pathway is established between a first execution environment of a mobile device and a second execution environment of the mobile device. The first and second execution environments are executed in parallel with each other. The second execution environment has a higher level of security than the first execution environment. A request is received from a first entity to authenticate itself. The first entity resides in the first execution environment of the mobile device. The first entity is authenticated in response to the request. The authentication is performed by a second entity that resides in the second execution environment of the mobile device. The receiving of the request and the authenticating are performed using a direct communication link between the first execution environment and the second execution environment while bypassing the initial communication pathway.
System and method for transaction security enhancement
A detection is made that a first entity residing on a mobile device is requesting authentication. The first entity resides in a first portion of the mobile device. A determination is made that the mobile device is unable to establish network connections with a remote authentication server that is configured to authenticate the first entity. A local authentication process is performed in response to the determination that the mobile device is unable to establish network connections with the remote authentication server. Without accessing the remote authentication server, the local authentication process is performed by a second entity that resides in a second portion of the mobile device. The second portion has a greater level of security than the first portion.
Method for controlling financial chip of payment device
Disclosed is a method for controlling a financial chip of a payment device, in which information for multiple cards is stored in a single USIM chip, to enable the payment device to use credit cards from multiple card companies as a payment means. The method includes: dividing storage of the memory of the financial chip into multiple sections and allocating a turn to each storage section; allocating a first turn to the first card company server and recording information on the credit card issued by the first card company server, an application for financial transactions, and an identifier for the application when the first card company server and the second card company server sequentially make a request for the record of credit card information to the financial chip; and providing card arrangement information including information on the first turn and a second turn to the second card company server.
METHOD FOR MONITORING USAGE PATTERNS AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE CAPABLE OF IMPLEMENTING SUCH A METHOD
The present disclosure provides a method for monitoring usage patterns of an electronic device comprising a secure memory A first (IU1) and a second (IU2) item of usage information are read when a transaction is being carried out between said electronic device and an external terminal. A first list of data pairs (t.sub.m) is recorded on said secure memory of the electronic device, each of said pairs (t.sub.m) comprising said first (IU1) and said second (IU2) item of usage information. A second list (L2) of counters (C.sub.n) is recorded on the secure memory of the electronic device, and at least one indicator is calculated for monitoring usage patterns of the electronic device at least on the basis of at least one of the first item of usage information (IU1), the second item of usage information (IU2), and a counter (C.sub.n) from said second list (L2).
The present disclosure also provides an electronic device comprising a reader module and a secure memory. The reader module is programmed to read a first (IU1) and a second (IU2) item of usage information when a transaction is being carried out between said electronic device and an external terminal. The secure memory comprises a first recording module for recording a first list (L1) of data pairs (t.sub.m), each of said pairs (t.sub.m) comprising said first (IU1) and said second (IU2) item of usage information; a second recording module for recording a second list (L2) of counters (C.sub.n); and a calculation module which is programmed to calculate at least one indicator for monitoring usage patterns of the electronic device at least on the basis of at least one of the first item (IU1) of usage information, the second item (IU2) of usage information, and a counter (C.sub.n) from said second list (L2).
Method for personalising an electronic device, associated data processing method and device
The invention relates to any electronic device such as a chip card, a passport, a dongle or any other object requiring personalization of the content of a memory. More precisely, the invention provides for a method for processing a data item of a container stored in a memory, said method being implemented by the electronic device by utilizing in particular a table of identifiers. The invention furthermore provides for a prior step for associating a data identifier with a data item of a container and creating said table of identifiers.
METHOD FOR THE SECURITY OF AN ELECTRONIC OPERATION WITH A CHIP CARD
A method for assisting in improving the security of an electronic operation carried out via a chip card. The method comprises comparing a cryptographic nonce received last by the chip card with at least one reference cryptographic nonce stored on the chip card, in order to quantify their degree of similarity by a last similarity data. If the last similarity data or global similarity data coming from the last similarity data satisfies a predefined condition, a countermeasure is taken in order to increase the security of the electronic operation.
Multifunction smart card
The disclosure is related to providing a payment processing service and a near field communication (NFC) tag processing service through the single smart card. The smart card may store identification (ID) information of one of a payment card and a NFC tag at a first memory sector and store associated information for providing a related service as the payment card and the NFC tag at predetermined memory sectors. The smart card may be also implemented with a NFC tag applet providing the ID information and the associated information as the NFC tag to the user terminal. The smart card may be recognized as the NFC tag while storing the ID information for the payment card at the first memory sector in the memory or as the payment card while storing the ID information for the NFC tag at the first memory sector in the memory.
MULTI-CHIP SMART CARD
Systems and methods are provided for a smart card to emulate chip cards and/or magnetic stripe cards. A smart card may attach to a device that programs the smart card to emulate the chip cards and/or the magnetic stripe cards. The base device may carry information regarding each card to be emulated, and may display a representation of such cards to be emulated on a touch display of the base device. A user may select a card to be emulated by interacting with the touch display. The smart card may include a contact area, a plurality of chips, and a switch to transmit signals between the contact area and a selected chip representing the card to be emulated.
DISABLEMENT INDICATOR ON A PROGRAMMABLE SMART CARD
Systems and methods are provided for a smart card to emulate chip cards and/or magnetic stripe cards. A smart card may attach to a device that programs the smart card to emulate the chip cards and/or the magnetic stripe cards. The base device may carry information regarding each card to be emulated, and may display a representation of such cards to be emulated on a touch display of the base device. A user may select a card to be emulated by interacting with the touch display. When the smart card is removed from the base device, a timer on the smart card and a timer on the base device are executed for the same period of time. Upon expiration of the smart card timer, the smart card is disabled. Upon expiration of the base device timer, the display of the base device indicates that the smart card is disabled.
ANTENNA DECOUPLED FROM PROGRAMMABLE SMART CARD
