Hold transactions conducted using a financial account may be identified and verified. The hold transactions may be transactions that do not post to the financial account, and therefore are not provided on any financial account statement. The transaction-based authentication questions may be generated based on the identified and verified hold transactions. The user may be authenticated based on responses by the user to the transaction-based authentication questions. Malicious actors that gain access to financial account statements are unlikely to answer the transaction-based authentication questions correctly as they are based on financial transaction data that is not provided on the financial account statements.

Detecting Separate Login During Action Based Knowledge-Based Authentication and Disqualifying Validity

Aspects described herein may relate to techniques for detecting login activity to a financial account during a knowledge-based authentication process. The login activity may be related to access to an online interface for the financial account. The detection of login activity during the authentication process my indicate that the integrity of the authentication process is compromised as login access may provide an individual with transaction data that may be used to answer transaction-based authentication questions. As a result of detecting login activity, an alternative authentication process may be initiated or an authentication request related to the financial account may be denied.

Method and system for enabling merchants to share tokens

One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a system and associated processes for sharing cardholder data (CHD) between a merchant that utilizes tokenization and a second merchant that may or may not utilize tokenization. In one embodiment, the merchant, or an employee of the merchant, can use the system and associated processes to reacquire CHD from a tokenization provider system. In one embodiment, the merchant identifies to the tokenization provider system a desire to share CHD, which is associated with a token, with a second merchant. The merchant and/or the tokenization provider system can then invite the second merchant to register with the tokenization provider system. Once registered with the tokenization provider system, the second merchant can access any CHD that the merchant associated with the second merchant.

In response to receiving the notification, at least part of the configuration data is sent to configure the application on the device in order for the user to perform the identity verification process, associated with the third-party service, to register with the third-party service.

Techniques are provided for propagating updates to user profile information using a blockchain and for controlling access to user profile information using a blockchain. In one embodiment, a first block is added to a blockchain. The first block includes a first transaction ID that identifies a first transaction entry in the blockchain and a first version of user profile information encrypted using the first encryption key. The first transaction ID and a first decryption key that is able to decrypt information encrypted with the first encryption key is communicated to a plurality of entity computing devices that are to use the user profile information. The user profile information is updated by adding a second block to the blockchain that refers to the first transaction ID and includes a second version of the profile information encrypted using the first encryption key.
