Making Payments Through Electronic Channels
20220405740 · 2022-12-22 ·

Among other things, a server receives from a payer an indication of a payment to be made from an account of the payer to an account of a biller. The server is hosted independently of a party that maintains the account for the payer or the biller. The server receives authentication information from the payer that authenticates an association of the payer with the account of the payer. After the association has been authenticated and without requiring the payer to obtain online access to the payer's account, the server sends to the party that maintains the account for the payer a credit transfer from the account of the payer into the account of the biller.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING A USER OF A BANKING DEVICE

A banking device in accordance with the present disclosure includes processing circuitry that is configured to receive user authentication information from a mobile device of a user interacting with the mobile device. The user authentication information may include a token indicating that the user of the mobile device is authenticated. The processing circuitry is further configured to contact, in response to reception of the user authentication information a banking server to initiate a banking transaction; and initiate the banking transaction.

Conducting Secure Fragmented Payment Transactions
20220405730 · 2022-12-22 ·

Aspects of the disclosure relate to fragmenting payment transactions. Based a virtual assistant establishing an active session with a voice activated device, a computing platform may receive, from the virtual assistant, a request initiated at the voice activated device for a payment transaction. The computing platform may retrieve user identifying information associated with fragmenting payment transactions for determining whether to fragment the payment transaction between a plurality of user accounts. In determining to fragment the payment transaction, the computing platform may generate allocation information indicating an amount of funds to be transferred from each of the plurality of user accounts. The computing platform may cause the voice activated device to prompt the user to confirm the allocation information. The computing platform may transfer funds to a recipient account in accordance with the allocation information and send a notification indicating completed processing of the fragmented payment transaction.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMAGE ANALYSIS FOR PHYSICAL DEFECT DETECTION OF A STORAGE MEDIUM
20220405914 · 2022-12-22 ·

A system for image analysis for physical defect detection of a storage medium of a first card that comprises an apparatus configured to receive the storage medium of the first card and a first server configured to verify issuance of a second card. The apparatus comprises an optical sensor comprising a light transmitter, a receiver, and a first processor. The optical sensor is configured to produce a light to be directed to the storage medium and to determine that the storage medium comprises a physical defect with the first processor based at least in part upon processed electronic signals. The apparatus further comprises a second processor configured to display outputs requesting authorization to issue the second card. The first server is configured to verify issuance of the second card, wherein the first server is communicatively coupled to the apparatus.

Fraud as a service
11531989 · 2022-12-20 · ·

A fraud detection as a service system is provided that can be implemented via one or more microservices that can be instantiated on an operation support system and/or business support systems. Each fraud detection microservice instantiated can have one or more fraud detection models and sets of rules for a particular type of incoming data stream or transaction and/or interaction data. In this way, there can be more than one fraud detection microservice operating on the OSS/BSS allowing each fraud detection microservice to be dynamically updated in real time, provide continuous integration and continuous delivery of services, and work with a particular data flow, providing for an optimal fraud detection process.

User profiling based on transaction data associated with a user

A user profile scoring platform may analyze a transaction log of a transaction account of a user to determine, based on transactions of the transaction log, a qualification status of the user, wherein the qualification status indicates that a characteristic of the user satisfies a threshold qualification metric. The user profile scoring platform may determine, based on the qualification status, a transaction-based score associated with the user, wherein the transaction-based score is determined using a transaction log analysis model. The user profile scoring platform may obtain, based on receiving the access information, a user score associated with a user transaction history that is associated with a plurality of transaction accounts that are associated with the user and different from the transaction account. The user profile scoring platform may perform an action based on the transaction-based score and the user score.

PEER-TO-PEER MONEY TRANSFERS
20220398592 · 2022-12-15 ·

Systems and methods for peer-to-peer money transfers are disclosed. The system may allow senders to transmit money transfers to receivers. The system may receive a money transfer request from the sender comprising the designated receiver, a money transfer amount, and a sender transaction account. The system may generate a receiver transaction account associated with the designated receiver, wherein the receiver transaction account comprises the money transfer amount. The system may provide the receiver access to the receiver transaction account using different channels, including by providing a digital transaction instrument or a physical transaction instrument.

PROVIDING A CUSTOMER WITH A NUMBER OF PAYMENT SCENARIOS
20220398585 · 2022-12-15 · ·

A system and method for providing a customer with a number of payment scenarios is disclosed. The method receives at a payment provider computing system an inquiry about a payment scenario for a customer, the inquiry including identification information for the customer, utilizes the identification information to perform a credit prescreen, and generates, based on a result of the credit prescreen, a plurality of payment scenarios with associated terms. The plurality of payment scenarios with associated terms is then provided to the customer and the customer selects the desired payment scenario. An agreement with the associated terms of the payment scenario is generated and provided to the payment provider computing system. The mobile device provides the selected payment scenario to a retail computing system during a checkout process and the transaction is completed.

Method, medium, and system for reducing fraud

Techniques for reducing fraud are disclosed. A transaction request is received from a user to perform a transaction using an account. In one approach, a source icon is displayed prior to executing the request. The source icon includes a graphical representation of an owner of the account. In another approach, at least one of a photograph and a voice of the user is recorded prior to executing the request. In a third approach, the user is informed that at least one of a photograph, a voice print, and location data will be taken prior to executing the transaction request.

Systems and methods relating to identity authentication and validation

There is provided an authentication system for validating identity credentials of a user attempting to access a resource provided by a remote resource provision system. The authentication system includes an input configured to receive, from the resource provision system, an authentication request comprising a cryptographic representation of digital identity data of the user and an associated token identifier, where the digital identity data comprises at least one image of an identity credential of the user. The system also includes a processor configured to: determine a pre-stored cryptographic identifier corresponding to the token identifier; and compare the received cryptographic representation with the pre-stored cryptographic identifier. The system further includes an output configured to transmit, to the remote resource provision system and in response to determining a match between the received cryptographic representation and the pre-stored cryptographic identifier, an authentication confirmation indicating successful validation of the digital identity data.
