A method and portable apparatus for settling a transaction are provided, in which the portable apparatus may be used as a card substitute payment device for settling a transaction. Information to conduct a settlement may be stored in the portable apparatus. The portable apparatus may be, for example, a portable phone or a PDA. A transaction inquiry machine may read or receive the information from the portable apparatus, similar to that of a card reader reading a magnetic card, and transmit the information to a VAN company server or a card company server, to then request for an approval to settle the transaction.
IMPROVED SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING CUSTOMER RATINGS FROM A PIN ENTRY DEVICE
The present invention provides a system operable to collect customer ratings during a transaction using an electronic point of sale system comprising a computer programmed to effect operation of the electronic point of sale system. The system includes a POS module programmed to manage operation of a scanner, a PIN entry device; a payment application operable to manage the PIN entry device; a POS proxy module; a payment application plug-in operable in conjunction with the payment application; a scanner pass-through driver operable to pass scanner signals between the POS module and the scanner while collecting information from the scanner signals and sending that information to the POS proxy module; wherein the POS proxy module is programmed to cause collection of a customer rating during the transaction by using the information received from the scanner pass-through driver to initiate a customer rating collection session, to send a customer rating initiation signal to the payment application plug-in which in turn causes the PIN entry device to prompt the customer to enter a rating.
PIN ENTRY DEVICE
There is disclosed a PIN entry device (PED) for electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) transactions. The PED has enhanced user I/O functionality but retains the strict security and certification framework of such a device. In addition to the usual PED functionality, the PED disclosed herein allows feedback from a user to be obtained in response to a question. The PED comprises an alphanumeric display for displaying text to a user, a numeric keypad and one or more function keys. The PED is configured to operate to display text to the user on the alphanumeric display to prompt a response from the user. The displayed text corresponds to approved text and unapproved text. The PED is configured to accept responses entered on the numeric keypad or one or more function keys in response to approved text, and to accept only a single key press response when prompted by a display of unapproved text. A corresponding method is also disclosed.
Digital banker application system
A computing system includes a network interface circuit and a processing circuit comprising one or more processors coupled to non-transitory memory storing instructions that when executed by the one or more processors, cause the processing circuit to generate a first code displayable for capture by a customer device associated with a customer, generate a second code confirming an identity of the customer, provide the second code to a mobile device, receive customer information and an indication of a capture of the first code from the customer device, in response to receiving the second code from the customer device within a predefined parameter of the receiving of the customer information and the indication of the capturing of the first code from the customer device, analyze the customer information, and in response to verifying the customer information based on the analysis, cause an activation on behalf of the customer.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIMPLIFIED CHECKOUT
In various embodiments, a system and method for providing simplified checkout are provided. In example embodiments, an identifier that corresponds to a payment account of a user is received at a payment provider system. Account information from the payment account of the user is retrieved from a payment data storage of the payment provider system. The account information is used in a payment transaction involving a merchant system. A payment interface having transaction fields populated with the account information retrieved from the payment account of the user is presented to the user while the user maintains a presence on a webpage of a merchant system.
GENERATING EXCHANGE ITEM UTILIZATION SOLUTIONS IN AN EXCHANGE ITEM MARKETPLACE NETWORK
A method for execution by a marketplace server begins by receiving an indication of an intention to utilize an exchange item to support a purchase transaction associated with a computing device, where the exchange item is associated with an exchange item rule set. The method continues by determining one or more exchange items associated with the computing device and determining purchase requirements of the purchase transaction. The method continues by identifying alternative exchange items to potentially support the purchase transaction based on the purchase requirements, the one or more exchange items, and the exchange item rule set. The method continues generating a list of exchange item utilization solutions to support the purchase transaction. The method continues by the marketplace server sending the list of exchange item utilization solutions to the computing device.
SECURE ELEMENT HAVING MULTIPLE USERS
Techniques are disclosed relating to secure data storage. In various embodiments, a mobile device includes a wireless interface, a secure element, and a secure circuit. The secure element is configured to store confidential information associated with a plurality of users and to receive a request to communicate the confidential information associated with a particular one of the plurality of users. The secure element is further configured to communicate, via the wireless interface, the confidential information associated with the particular user in response to an authentication of the particular user. The secure circuit is configured to perform the authentication of the particular user. In some embodiments, the mobile device also includes a biosensor configured to collect biometric information from a user of the mobile device. In such an embodiment, the secure circuit is configured to store biometric information collected from the plurality of users by the biosensor.
SECURE TRANSFER OF PAYMENT DATA
This disclosure relates to a payee applications and payment applications installed on a mobile communication device. The device authenticates the payee application with a transaction server and sends transaction data to the transaction server. The device then receives from the transaction server a transaction identifier and sends the transaction identifier to a payment application installed on the mobile communication device to allow the payment application to access the transaction data from the transaction server. In response, the device receives from the payment application a payment confirmation associated with the transaction identifier and sends to the transaction server a request for payment status, the request comprising the transaction identifier. Finally, the device receives response data indicative of the payment status from the transaction server and determines a validity of the payment confirmation based on the response data from the transaction server.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VERIFYING AN IDENTITY RECORD
A system and method for verifying an identity record is provided. The system includes a data server configured to submit first and second data elements associated with an unverified identity record to first and second third party servers, respectively. The data server then receives from the first and second third party servers, at least one additional data element and at least one further data element being associated, at the first and second third party servers respectively, with the first and second data elements. A comparing component then compares the received at least one additional data element and at least one further data element with at least corresponding data elements associated with the identity record and a flagging component flags the identity record as a verified identity record if the received at least one additional and further data elements match the at least one corresponding data element.
