COMPUTER SYSTEM AND COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD FOR PROCESSING A CASHLESS PAYMENT TRANSACTION VIA A POINT-OF-SALE TERMINAL
20200167753 · 2020-05-28 ·

A payment network server for processing a cashless payment transaction via a point-of-sale (POS) terminal associated with a merchant server is described. The server comprises a data storage device comprising instructions operative by a processor to: receive a tokenization request comprising payment account credentials; generate a token associated with the payment account credentials; transmit the token to the customer electronic device, where the token is transmitted to a card for processing the transaction at the POS terminal; receive a transaction request comprising the token and a payment amount; perform de-tokenization on the token to identify the payment account credentials associated with the token; transmit an authorisation request that comprises at least the payment account credentials and the payment amount to an issuer institution; receive an authorisation response comprising an indication of approval or refusal; and transmit a payment transaction response comprising approval or a refusal to the merchant.

Methods and systems of providing verification of the identity of a digital entity using a centralized or distributed ledger

Providing verification of the identity of a digital entity may include including receiving information and a public key of the digital entity, the information having been previously attested to in an attestation transaction stored within a centralized or distributed ledger at an attestation address, the centralized or distributed ledger providing a record of transactions. The system may derive an attestation address using the information and the public key of the digital entity. The system may verify the existence of the attestation transaction at the attestation address in the centralized or distributed ledger and verify that the attestation transaction has not been revoked. The processor associated with the user may receive a cryptographic challenge nonce signed by the digital entity's private key; and may verify the digital entity's identity with the cryptographic challenge nonce signed by the digital entity's key.

Method and system for user address validation

A system and method for validating user address information is disclosed herein. A computing system periodically polls a client device associated with a user to identify a current location of the user. The computing system records the current location of the user after polling and a time associated with the polling. The computing system receives one or more transactions from one or more third party vendors. The computing system identifies, based on the one or more transactions, a location and a time associated with each transaction in the one or more transactions. The computing system defines a geographic area. The computing system determines that a current primary address on file for the user is outside of the geographic area. The computing system prompts, based on the determining, the user to update the current primary address.

INTERMEDIARY COMMUNICATIONS OVER NON-PERSISTENT NETWORK CONNECTIONS
20200160338 · 2020-05-21 ·

A mobile device with a first transceiver, a second transceiver, one or more processors, and memory bridges communications between an offline retail machine with a short-range communication capability and a remote server by obtaining via the first transceiver a single-use request code from an information packet broadcast by the offline retail machine; transmitting via the second transceiver the single-use request code to a remote server; obtaining via the second transceiver from the remote server a grant token including the single-use request code; detecting a trigger condition for initiating provision of a product or service by the offline retail machine; and in response to detecting the trigger condition, initiating performance of the provision of the product or service by transmitting the grant token to the offline retail machine via the first transceiver.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AGGREGATING, EXCHANGING, AND FILTERING DATA OVER A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK

A data aggregator (DA) system for aggregating data from multiple data sources over a communications network is provided. The DA system includes at least one data aggregator (DA) computing device configured to receive merchant data from a plurality of merchant computing devices, store the merchant data within the central database by mapping the merchant data using the merchant identifier, and receive a product request message from a user computing device. The DA computing device is also configured to perform a look up within the central database for a match product descriptor, receive a selection message from the user computing device, generate an authorization request message, and transmit the authorization request message to an authorizing party. The DA computing device is further configured to receive an authorization response message from the authorizing party, and transmit the authorization response message to the user computing device and a merchant.

PROCESSING INTERRUPTED TRANSACTIONS OVER NON-PERSISTENT NETWORK CONNECTIONS
20200160339 · 2020-05-21 ·

An offline retail machine comprising a short-range transceiver, one or more processors, and memory performs communications operations via one or more mobile devices. The communications operations include establishing via the short-range transceiver a connection with a first mobile device, and transmitting first information to the first mobile device. Upon not receiving an acknowledgement that the first information was received by a remote server, the offline retail machine maintains the first information in the memory and establishes, via the short-range transceiver, a connection with a second mobile device, appends the first information to second information, and transmits the first and second information to the second mobile device. Upon receiving acknowledgement that the first and second information were received by a remote server, the offline retail machine deletes the first and second information.

Secure card not present transactions using chip-enabled cards
10657535 · 2020-05-19 · ·

Techniques are described for performing secure card not present (CNP) transactions using integrated circuit chip-enabled cards. The techniques include continually or periodically tracking a location of a user's card by a user computing device, e.g., a smart phone, and storing a log of datasets relating to the location of the user's card at a server device. Based on the tracking, the user computing device may alert the user via a push notification or other message when the user's card is not within a preset range of the user computing device. In addition, an authentication server determines a location of a purchaser computing device attempting to perform a CNP transaction using the user's card information, and compares the location of the purchaser computing device with a most recent location of the user's card retrieved from the log of datasets to determine whether to approve the CNP transaction.
