Game based on payment transactions in electronic payment transaction processing networks

Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems for playing a game based on payment transactions within an electronic payment transaction processing network. Based on data provided by a user, the user is authenticated to operate a game based on payment transactions. One or more payment cards used to perform payment transactions are to be registered within the game. A data record is added and an award within the game is received for a contactless payment transaction performed using the one or more payment cards. The data record is stored in a storage accessible by the game. The award is to be converted to a benefit to the user. The received award is displayed on a leaderboard in a user interface of the game. The leaderboard also displays one or more awards received by one or more other people associated with the user. Other embodiments may also be described and claimed.

Dynamic risk assessment for security features

Techniques are described for determining account features based on a risk assessment. A first set of account features may be determined, including security feature(s) such as mode(s) for authenticating and/or verifying the identity of a user associated with account(s). Based on the first set of features, a risk metric may be determined for the account(s). The risk metric may indicate a risk that fraud may be committed against the account or using the account. Based on the determined risk metric, a second set of account features may be determined for the account(s). The first and second sets of account feature(s) may be applied to the account(s). Disabling a particular feature may cause a reevaluation of the risk metric and a redetermination of the feature sets to be applied to the account(s).

User interface for document imaging

Various examples are directed to systems and methods for facilitating image-based financial transactions. A computing device may display a multi-mode launch icon that is alternately selectable by a user in a first mode and in a second mode. The computing device may detect a first user input that selects the launch icon in the first mode and, in response, execute a first application. The computing device may also detect a second user input that selects the launch icon in the second mode and, in response, prompt the user to capture an image of a document with an imaging device. The computing device may determine, based at least in part on the image, that the document is of a first document type and execute a document-type routine to perform a first financial transaction based at least in part on the document.

Systems and methods for authorizing transactions without a payment card present

A financial institution computing system includes a network circuit enabling the financial institution computing system to exchange information over a network, a customer database storing information for a customer including habit information of the customer and a customer indicator of the customer, and a transaction circuit. The transaction circuit receives, over the network via the network circuit, a first transaction request including the customer indicator. The transaction circuit authenticates the first transaction request by determining that a characteristic of the first transaction request conforms with the habit information of the customer associated with the customer indicator, and authorizes the first transaction request based on the first transaction request being authenticated. The transaction circuit receives, over the network via the network circuit, a second transaction request including the customer indicator, and authorizes the second transaction request based on receiving the customer indicator.

Systems and methods for preemptive fraud alerts

A computer-implemented method includes identifying an individual having a prior interaction with a target customer, generating a risk score for the identified individual based on information regarding the regarding the individual, the information regarding the individual either being stored in a database associated with a financial institution computing system or at an external computing system, determining that the risk score is above a predetermined threshold, receiving an indication of a potential interaction between the target customer and the identified individual, and transmitting an alert to a customer computing device associated with the target alert in response to receiving the indication and the risk score being above the predetermined threshold, the alert notifying the target customer that the identified individual is likely to defraud the target customer.

OWNERSHIP OF A MARKED ITEM OUTSIDE A SHOP

A code attribution control system includes unique codes. Each of the codes is arranged or marked openly accessible legible or scannable on a sales item. One or more of the sales item is openly and freely displayed and for sale within a physical border of in a physical shop. The item initially is allocated a status code attribute as “not sold” in said attribution control system. For a consumer to establish ownership or indication of ownership of the item, the consumer scans and registers the code outside the border of the shop, whereby the status code attribute is changed to “sold” in the attribution control system, after which owner restricted services related to the item will be made available to the consumer.

Mobile Sensing And Smart Payment System

A mobile sensing and payment method and system for parking fees is disclosed. The system includes an array of identity information collection modules in a parking facility. A background data processor collects mobile terminal identification information from a mobile terminal of a person entering the parking facility while the mobile terminal performs cell reselection. The data processor simultaneously senses transmission intensity of the mobile terminal using the terminal identity information collection modules. The data processor determines a location of the mobile terminal based upon the changes in the signal transmission intensity from the collection modules. The data processor generates a specific characteristic threshold for the mobile terminal to pass an entrance gate. The data processor causes the entrance gate to be opened records a specific time that the entrance gate is opened. The data processor records a specific time that the person has entered the parking facility.

System for Reducing Transaction Failure

A method includes receiving a payment request that indicates a card identifier corresponding to a payment instrument to be used for payment. The method further includes determining that the card identifiers fails to satisfy at least one card activity criteria. Additionally, method includes subsequent to determining that no failed authorization attempts were performed for the card identifier within a previous time period, retrieving, from a database, a decline probability score associated with the card identifier. The method also includes based on the decline probability score, determining whether to transmit an authorization request for the card identifier prior to processing the payment request.

ELECTRONIC KIOSK

Techniques for tracking a product at a retail location, monitoring a consumer at the retail location, managing product interaction at a physical display of the retail location, managing product interaction at an electronic kiosk of the retail location, and generating attributable interest. The electronic kiosk can be implemented as a smart mirror, a customized fitting room, a photo booth, an amusement park kiosk, a tablet computer, or the like. Attributable interest can be explicit for a potential consumer, such as a profile associated with a person for whom personally identifying information is known; a persona, such as a type of person for which demographic, psychographic, behavioristic, geographic, or other information is known; or a statistical potential consumer that incorporates advertising exposure, social interest, or the like into a probability score.

PHYSICAL CARD ENABLING UTILIZATION BASED ON LOCATION
20210182833 · 2021-06-17 ·

There are provided systems and methods for a physical card having one or more location detection modules for location-specific card reading. A physical payment card may include one or more components to limit card reading of card data stored to the card using a location detection chip. The location detection chip may receive power from a source when inserted to a card reader, and may then determine a location of the card, such as a coordinate location of the card or nearby detected device. The location detection chip may determine if this location or device matches authorized locations stored in a memory of the card. If it does, power may be provided to a card chip of the card. The card chip of the card reads card data from a memory of the card and may then output the card data to the card reader.
