PROCESSING AUTHORIZATION REQUEST USING SEASONED DATA
20200286055 · 2020-09-10 ·

A system, apparatus, and method for expediting the authorization of an electronic payment transaction. Authorization of a transaction at a node of an authorization network is the result of inferring the trustworthiness of a customer to the transaction using data obtained from a different node of the authorization network. The authorization process is expedited by relying on the previous authentication decision of another node, where the previous decision may have been made based on a different payment device or different user inputs. The invention uses a decision made by a first node in the authorization network as a proxy for the authorization decision at a different node, thereby transferring the trustworthiness of a consumer, consumer's device, payment device, or other aspect of the transaction from the first node to the second.

Systems, devices, and methods are provided for frictionless self-checkout for consumers in retail establishments.

Unique Code For Token Verification
20200273032 · 2020-08-27 ·

A method for tokenizing credentials is disclosed. In addition to a token, a verification value can be provided for each interaction. The verification value can be generated based at least in part on a dynamic data element. The dynamic data element may be kept secret, while the verification value can be distributed for use during an interaction. When the verification value is used, it can be validated by re-creating the verification value based at least on the stored dynamic data element.

Methods and systems for secure online payment

A secure online payment system in which, upon initiation by a card holder of a payment operation to an online merchant, the card holder is directed to a wallet-hosting website which stores at least one digital wallet associated with the card holder. Each digital wallet is associated with at least one payment card associated with the card holder, and the website has access to database storing payment card data relating to the payment card. At the website, a card holder authentication process is performed. Upon successful authentication, payment card data is extracted from the database, and a successful authentication indicator message is generated and returned to the merchant. The successful authentication indicator message includes the payment card data, code indicating that the card holder has been successfully identified, and code indicative of the fact that the payment card is registered in the wallet.

Method and device for digital payment transactions

A method and device for digital payment transactions is provided. A method for encoding data for use in a digital payment transaction between a cardholder and a merchant includes generating, by a cardholder electronic device, dynamic magnetic stripe data associated with a digital payment card of a digital wallet application stored in a data storage module of the cardholder electronic device, retrieving merchant-related data stored in the data storage module of the cardholder electronic device, and encoding, by the cardholder electronic device, the generated dynamic magnetic stripe data and the retrieved merchant-related data in a machine-readable visual code for use in the digital payment transaction.

Payment card reconciliation by authorization code
10740755 · 2020-08-11 · ·

A payment processor acting on behalf of a third party administrator to make payment on an adjudicated claim makes a straight through payment to an acquirer for a health care provider's merchant account. Via the authorization process, the payment processor generates an authorization code which is returned to the health care provider on its merchant statement for the payment. Concurrently, the remittance advice from the third party administrator is linked to the same authorization code as the payment by the payment processor which sends the advice in an 835-formatted transmission to the health care provider. Thus, the remittance advice may be linked (reconciled) with the payment on the merchant statement by the common authorization code.

On-demand payment generation transaction systems
10740750 · 2020-08-11 · ·

Methods and systems for generating on-demand payment instruments are described. A user with a user payment account may perform a transaction with a user device and request an on-demand payment instrument. The request may be communicated to a transaction device. The transaction device may authenticate the request and associate an on-demand payment instrument to the user payment account. Information associated with the on-demand payment instrument information may then be tokenized and communicated to the user device, the merchant, or another party and the information may be entered and/or processed for the transaction.

Configuring Verification Information At Point-of-Sale Devices
20200250673 · 2020-08-06 ·

Techniques and arrangements for dynamically modifying a cardholder verification method (CVM) implemented at a point-of-sale (POS) device. In some instances, the techniques instruct a POS device to determine an attribute associated with a received payment instrument and determine, based on this information and via the issuing entity, whether to implement a default or static CVM or whether to apply a modified or dynamic CVM such that the POS device requests different verification information than if the POS device did not modify the CVM. The modified or dynamic CVM may be implemented if a customer's device, present at the location of the payment transaction, has installed thereon an application of the entity that has issued the payment instrument.

TAP CARD TO SECURELY GENERATE CARD DATA TO COPY TO CLIPBOARD

A web browser may output a form comprising a payment field. A URL may be received from a communications interface of a contactless card, the URL comprising encrypted data generated by the contactless card based on a private key stored in a memory of the contactless card. An application may transmit the encrypted data to an authentication server, which may decrypt the encrypted data based on the private key. The application may receive, from a virtual account number server, a virtual account number. The application may receive an expiration date and a CVV. The application may copy the virtual account number to a clipboard of an OS. The OS may paste the virtual account number from the clipboard to the payment field of the form in the web browser. The OS may output a notification comprising the expiration date and the CVV associated with the virtual account number.

ONE-TAP PAYMENT USING A CONTACTLESS CARD

An authentication application may receive, from a merchant application of a client device, a merchant identifier, a transaction identifier of a transaction, encrypted data, and a location of the client device. The authentication application may decrypt the encrypted data based at least in part on a private key. The authentication application may determine that the contactless card has been used to make a previous purchase with the merchant and that the location of the client device is within a threshold distance of a known location associated with a contactless card. A virtual account number generator may generate a virtual account number and transmit the merchant identifier, the transaction identifier, the virtual account number, an expiration date, and a card verification value (CVV) to a merchant server associated with the merchant to process the transaction using the transaction identifier, the virtual account number, the expiration date, and the CVV.
