System and method for detecting malicious payment transaction activity using aggregate views of payment transaction data in a distributed network environment

Embodiments of systems and methods for fraud prevention in an online distribution network are disclosed. In certain embodiments, service providers that provide forms in association with merchant's web sites for submission of transactions may implement pro-active threat detection based on an aggregate view of transactions in that distributed computer network.

Virtual Payment Card Fraud Detection

Like many credit card payments, virtual card payments are subject to fraudulent transactions. To lower this possibility, data collected from a settlement transaction is stored including a merchant category code, a tax identification number, a merchant identification and an IP address of the processing terminal. Subsequent payments from the same payor to the same payee are verified against the previous settlement transaction data to minimize the possibility of fraud.

SECURE REMOTE TRANSACTION FRAMEWORK USING DYNAMIC SECURE CHECKOUT ELEMENT

Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems and methods of providing secure remote transaction (SRT) transactions. In some embodiments, a resource provider is able to embed a checkout element into a webpage that it hosts. The checkout element enables interaction between a user that has accessed the webpage and an initiator application server located remotely in order to complete a transaction while preventing the resource provider from gaining access to sensitive information. In some embodiments, the user's information may be determined by an initiator server and populated into the checkout element.

System, Method, and Apparatus for Aggregated Authentication

Provided is a system, method, and apparatus for aggregated authentication in an online, open loop payment network. The method includes receiving a single authentication request message to conduct a plurality of transactions with a plurality of merchants, the single authentication request message comprising an aggregation identifier, detecting the aggregation identifier in the single authentication request message, in response to detecting the aggregation identifier, generating a single authentication response message comprising a plurality of authentication codes, each authentication code of the plurality of authentication codes corresponding to a merchant of the plurality of merchants, and communicating the single authentication response message to the merchant system, the single authentication response message configured to cause the merchant system to separately process each transaction of the plurality of transactions.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONFIRMATION OF CREDIT TRANSACTIONS
20190385143 · 2019-12-19 ·

A system and method to insure the security of a remote credit card transaction is disclosed. A merchant webserver generates a transaction interface on a device accessible by a consumer. The transaction interface allows entry of a mobile phone number and a credit card number. A transaction security server receives the mobile phone number and the credit card number. The transaction security server generates a code and sends the generated code to a mobile device corresponding to the entered mobile phone number. The transaction interface generates a code entry screen. The transaction security server verifies the transaction based on the received credit card number if an entered code from the code entry screen matches the generated code, at which point, the transaction is finalized.

One-tap payment using a contactless card

One-tap payment using a contactless card. An application may output an indication specifying to tap a contactless card to complete a transaction initiated in the application. The application may receive encrypted data generated by the contactless card based on a private key stored in the contactless card. The application may transmit a merchant identifier, a transaction identifier, and the encrypted data to an authentication server. The authentication server may verify the encrypted data based on the private key for the contactless card stored by the authentication server. A virtual account number server may generate a virtual account number. A merchant server may receive the merchant identifier, the transaction identifier, the virtual account number, an expiration date, and a card verification value (CVV), and process the transaction using the transaction identifier, the virtual account number, the expiration date, and the CVV.

Card issuing with restricted virtual numbers

Various embodiments are directed to applying, via contactless card authentication, one or more restrictions to a virtual card number and generating the card number for use by a recipient. The one or more restrictions may be specifically personalized to the recipient and may include, for example, a merchant restriction, an amount restriction, a time period restriction, or a location restriction. The generated virtual card number along with the applied one or more restrictions may be consumed in various ways, such as writing the number to a blank card, transmitting the number directly to the recipient's computing device, etc., all via near-field communication.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FRICTIONLESS SELF-CHECKOUT MERCHANDISE PURCHASING

Systems, devices, and methods are provided for frictionless self-checkout for consumers in retail establishments.

Direct data share

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for the direct sharing and use of transaction data separately from transaction authorization processes. Transaction metadata associated with a transaction may be received and validated. Authorization information corresponding to the transaction may be received. The degree to which the transaction metadata is tested may be based on a predicted time of receipt of the authorization information. The transaction metadata and authorization information may be correlated. A computing device may determine whether to authorize the financial transaction based on the authorization information and the correlated transaction metadata. All or portions of the transaction metadata may be provided to one or more users after the transaction has been authorized or denied.

Extra security element on cards to protect against fraud

Authenticating a secure element payment card includes transmitting a cold reset signal to the payment card and receiving an answer-to-reset message therefrom. The answer-to-reset message includes governing rules for performing a transaction, including a rule indicating that a secure data element is to be used to authenticate the payment card. The process also includes receiving payment account details for a payment account associated with the payment card. A payment authorization request message is transmitted to an interchange network and a card authentication request message is then received from the interchange network. The card authentication request message includes an encrypted instruction, which is transmitted to the secure element payment card. The secure data element is received from the payment card and a card authentication request response message is then transmitted to the interchange network. A payment authorization request response message is then received from the interchange network.
