System and method for identity verification

Representative embodiments set forth techniques for verifying an identity of a primary user of a primary account on a client device. A method may include receiving, for the primary account, a request for identity verification responsive to an action of a secondary account associated with the primary account and identifying a payment registration characteristic of a payment registration associated with the primary account. The method also includes retrieving identity information associated with the primary account based on the payment registration characteristic and, in response to a determination that the identity information corresponds to a verification indicator, verifying an identity of a user of the primary account. The method also includes, in response to verifying the identity of the user of the primary account, generating a payment verification token and associating the payment verification token with an authorization indication for the action of the secondary account.

CONTACTLESS PAYMENT VIA MOBILE DEVICES USING HYBRID COMMUNICATIONS APPROACH
20240161087 · 2024-05-16 · ·

The present invention relates, in various embodiments, to contactless payment technology, whereby contactless payments are made via mobile devices using hybrid communications approach (for example using Near Field Communications and a secondary wireless communications technology). Embodiments of the invention are primarily directed to enabling contactless payments without needing to utilise NFC transmission functionalities via the mobile device.

Apparatuses and Methods for Operating a Portable Electronic Device to Conduct Mobile Payment Transactions

Methods for operating a portable electronic device to conduct a mobile payment transaction at a merchant terminal are provided. The electronic device may verify that the current user of the device is indeed the authorized owner by requiring the current user to enter a passcode. If the user is able to provide the correct passcode, the device is only partly ready to conduct a mobile payment. In order for the user to fully activate the payment function, the user may have to supply a predetermined payment activation input such as a double button press that notifies the device that the user intends to perform a financial transaction in the immediate future. The device may subsequently activate a payment applet for a predetermined period of time during which the user may hold the device within a field of the merchant terminal to complete a near field communications based mobile payment transaction.

System and method for securely validating transactions

Systems and methods for validating and processing payment transactions are disclosed. In the embodiments of the invention a first authorization request message and a first verification value are received at a server computer. The verification value is validated and a second authorization request message with a second verification value is generated. The first verification value may be a dynamic value and the second verification value may be static value. The second verification value is associated with portable device used to perform a transaction and it is what the issuer computers of the portable device expect to receive as part of an authorization request message in a payment transaction.

GENERATION OF WEB PAGES FOR VERIFICATION OF DATA
20190230080 · 2019-07-25 ·

Provided herein is a method for delivering web content to a computer user where the computer user must provide data for verification. A control presented by a first web page provided by a requesting server of a requesting party may be selected to request a further web page where data may be entered that requires verification. The requesting server may redirect the computer user to a verifying server that may provide a second web page to fulfil the request for the further web page. The second web page may be presented as a foreground window positioned over a backdrop frame. The foreground window may be provided with fields for entering the data and the backdrop frame may be provided by the requesting party. The verifying server may verify data entered in the foreground window and may send the requesting server a notification as to whether the verification was successful.

EXTRA SECURITY ELEMENT ON CARDS TO PROTECT AGAINST FRAUD

Authenticating a secure element payment card includes transmitting a cold reset signal to the payment card and receiving an answer-to-reset message therefrom. The answer-to-reset message includes governing rules for performing a transaction, including a rule indicating that a secure data element is to be used to authenticate the payment card. The process also includes receiving payment account details for a payment account associated with the payment card. A payment authorization request message is transmitted to an interchange network and a card authentication request message is then received from the interchange network. The card authentication request message includes an encrypted instruction, which is transmitted to the secure element payment card. The secure data element is received from the payment card and a card authentication request response message is then transmitted to the interchange network. A payment authorization request response message is then received from the interchange network.

Electronic commercial transaction support method

The present invention relates to an electronic-commerce assisting method capable of smoothly and securely conducting electronic commerce on a communication network, and to an electronic-commerce assisting server for realizing the same. The present invention is configured to have a communication terminal (2) for a person desiring to purchase a product, who connects to a cybershop (40) on a communication network (32) and who desires the purchase of a product using a credit card; an electronic-commerce server (46), disposed in the cybershop (40), for determining whether or not the electronic commerce should be concluded on the basis of the credit confirmation of the credit card; and an electronic-commerce assisting server (44) which requests the communication terminal (2) to transmit unique number data within the IC card (10) having a credit card function via the communication network (32), which converts the received unique number data into a credit card number in order to generate credit limit data of the credit card, and which transmits credit OK/NG data to the electronic-commerce server (46).

TOKENISATION PLATFORM AND COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHOD FOR GENERATING A MODIFIED PAYMENT TOKEN FOR AN EXPRESS PAYMENT TRANSACTION
20190213596 · 2019-07-11 ·

A tokenisation platform for generating a modified payment token for an express payment transaction is described. The tokenisation platform comprises at least a computer processor and a data storage device, the data storage device comprising instructions operative by the processor to: receive, from a token requestor, a request for a modified payment token, the request comprising an account identifier; transmit an authorisation request to an issuer server associated with the account identifier, the authorisation request comprising a request for advanced authorisation or pre-authorisation of funds from an account associated with the account identifier; and to receive, from the issuer server, an authorisation response indicating whether the authorisation request was successful or declined. If the authorisation request is successful, the tokenisation platform will generate a modified payment token comprising tokenised account details associated with the account identifier and either advanced authorised funds or a pre-authorised fund value; and transmit, to the token requestor, the modified payment token for use in an express payment transaction.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING USE OF NON-HUMAN USERS IN A DISTRIBUTED COMPUTER NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

Embodiments of systems and methods as disclosed herein may determine that an initiator of a communication on a distributed computer network is an automated script or the like. More particularly, in one embodiment, a web page including a hidden field may be generated in response to a request for the web page. This hidden field is a field included in the web page that is not visible to a human user when the web page is rendered by a browser and presented to the user. By comparing a received value for such a hidden field with an associated value for the hidden field as provided in the web page, the use of an automated script may be detected.

WALLET PROVIDER DATA PROCESS FOR FACILITATING DIGITIZATION OF PAYMENT ACCOUNT
20190205867 · 2019-07-04 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed that utilize a flexible data structure to facilitate a consumer payment account digitization process. In an embodiment, a Trusted Services Provider (TSP) computer receives a digitization request associated with a consumer payment account from a registered Wallet Provider (WP) computer, and then generates a WP backpack data package by combining WP identification data, WP load data, and data resulting from a combination of WP-specific data and a WP-specific data mask. The TSP computer then generates an authorizeService application program interface (API) request by combining the WP backpack data package with TSP data elements, and transmits the authorize service API request to an Issuer FI computer for digitization authorization processing.
