Method and apparatus for a lockout mechanism to prevent operating a system in real-time
A technique is provided that dynamically controls the speed at which a mobile device user can use funds. More specifically, the technique provides a lockout mechanism, which temporarily prevents the mobile device user from accessing and thus spending the funds.
Mobile transaction platform
Systems and methods for securely processing one or more digital transactions between a sender and a recipient using smartcards assigned to the sender and the recipient. Stored on each smartcard are the asset balances of one or more accounts owned by or accessible to the user of the smartcard. If internet access is available at the time of the transaction, a record of the transaction may be uploaded to a secure and auditable storage structure. If internet access is unavailable at the time of the transaction, a record of the transaction may be securely stored by both the sender's smartcard and the recipient's smartcard. When internet access becomes available, the transaction records may be transferred to the internet by a terminal and deleted from the smartcards. Records of the account balances of the users of the smartcard would be updated in accordance with the transaction.
DISTRIBUTED CREDIT ACCOUNT INFORMATION
A system and method for distributed credit account information is disclosed. The method receives, at a subsystem, a subset of credit account information from a main rules system. The subsystem then determines that a communication to the main rules system is disrupted. The subsystem utilizes the subset of credit account information to make at least one purchase authorization decision. After determining that the communication to the main rules system is operational, the subsystem provides a reconciliation data file including the at least one purchase authorization decision to the main rules system.
Systems and methods for locally processing a financial transaction
Embodiments of the disclosure enable a merchant system to locally process one or more financial transactions at the merchant system. The merchant system receives a payment request associated with a financial transaction, determines a network communication status associated with a network interface device coupleable to a payment processing network, and, on condition that the network communication status does not satisfy a network communication threshold, obtains an account threshold associated with a cardholder account, generates transaction data associated with the financial transaction based on the account threshold, presents an indication associated with the financial transaction, and stores the transaction data for later transmission of the transaction data to the payment processing network. Aspects of the disclosure provide for processing one or more financial transactions at a merchant system independent of a payment processing network.
ELECTRONIC TRADE PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD
In one implementation, a computer-implemented method, executed on a computing device and configured to effectuate a clearing platform, includes: enabling agent functionality for a plurality of clients with respect to a Value Unit Repository (VUR) and a plurality of custodial accounts defined therein; receiving a plurality of matched orders concerning a plurality of parties from a distributed ledgering system. thus defining a batch of matched orders; and effectuating the clearing of the batch of matched orders including: performing a netting operation to determine a net asset amount for each of the plurality of parties, and transferring the net asset amount for each of the plurality of parties to a custodial account associated with each of the plurality of parties.
ELECTRONIC TRADE PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD
In one implementation, a computer-implemented method, executed on a computing device and configured to effectuate a clearing platform, includes: enabling agent functionality for a plurality of clients with respect to a Value Unit Repository (VUR) and a plurality of custodial accounts defined therein; receiving a plurality of digitally-signed matched orders concerning a plurality of parties. thus defining a batch of digitally-signed matched orders; and effectuating the clearing of the batch of digitally-signed matched orders including: performing a netting operation to determine a net asset amount for each of the plurality of parties, and seeking multi-party approval to transfer the net asset amount for each of the plurality of parties to a custodial account associated with each of the plurality of parties.
ELECTRONIC TRADE PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD
In one implementation, a computer-implemented method, executed on a computing device and configured to effectuate a trading platform, includes: maintaining a local balance datastore with balance information received from a Value Unit Repository (VUR); executing a matched order concerning a plurality of parties; and updating one or more balances defined within the local balance datastore and associated with the plurality of parties to reflect the execution of the matched order.
DEDICATED POINT OF SALE OVER AN INTERMITTENT NETWORK
Disclosed are various embodiments for improvements in customer relationship management and point of sale payment processing at remote event spaces. The system, apparatuses, and methods disclosed herein facilitate the transaction processing of credit cards and other payment vehicles in often remote locations where network connections may be intermittent and suffer from frequent disconnects or interruptions of service. The embodiments disclosed operate to detect network events, dynamically adjust to the event space, and processes the transactions on demand. The apparatuses are equipped to facilitate the event environment and are adapted to execute instructions to facilitate the financial transactions.
Payment card with budget display
Various examples are directed to payment cards with budget displays including systems and methods for using the same. A payment card may comprise a display and a control circuit. The control circuit may display, at the display of the payment card, a first display state indicating a first unused portion of a budget amount for a current budget period. The control circuit may access first budget status data generated in response to a transaction made with the payment card and modify the display to display a second display state indicating a second unused portion of the budget amount for the current budget period, wherein the second unused portion is based at least in part on the transaction.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING ENHANCED OFFLINE PAYMENT
Embodiments described herein provide a client system for facilitating enhanced offline payment. During operation, the system obtains a location indicator, which indicates the location of a service, from a charging system. The system then generates an offline code that allows access to the service and corresponds to the location indicator. The offline code can be readable by the charging system, and the client system and the charging system can both be offline. Subsequently, the system encodes the historical data associated with the service in a field of the offline code and sends a message comprising the offline code to the charging system.
