METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING A FINANCIAL TRANSACTION
A method is provided for authorizing a financial transaction between a consumer and a merchant. The method includes receiving, at a processor of a computer system, a request for authorization for the financial transaction from a credit clearing system; accessing, by the processor, an open to buy file to determine if adequate resources exist to complete the financial transaction, wherein the open to buy file corresponds to both a credit account and a deposit account that are associated with the consumer; when it is determined that the adequate resources exist, then: transferring funds, using the processor, from the deposit account to a remittance account associated with the consumer and the credit account, thereby building an outstanding balance on the credit account; and authorizing, using the processor, the financial transaction with the credit clearing system based on the transfer of funds from the deposit account to the remittance account.

DYNAMIC TAG BASED IDENTIFICATION FOR SELF AND ASSISTED TRANSACTIONS
A transaction terminal dynamically and regularly changes a unique transaction terminal identifier (ID). The transaction terminal ID is reported to a remote manager. During a transaction, a mobile device automatically reads a current transaction terminal ID from the transaction terminal, appends a mobile device ID for the mobile device, and sends the transaction terminal ID with the mobile device ID to the remote manager. The remote manager links the mobile ID to details associated with a user of the mobile device and sends the details to the transaction terminal. The transaction terminal uses the details to customize a transaction being conducted by the user at the transaction terminal.

A server is operable to receive a media device identifying number (ID) and establish an association between a media device and a payment account and, in one embodiment, supports at least one of payment authorization and payment clearing based at least in part on the media device ID and the payment account. A network and system includes a payment card processor server that is operable to receive a payment authorization request and to determine if an authorized media device generated a purchase selection message and to determine to approve a received payment authorization request based, in part, if the media device was authorized for the purchase selection based upon a received media device ID. METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROCESSING TRANSACTIONS
Methods and systems are provided for processing a transaction between a first party and a second party. Information defining terms of the transaction and identifying a presentation instrument are received at a host system. Preference information associated with the presentation instrument is retrieved with the host system. The preference information specifies terms for an allocation of transaction amounts among multiple transaction types. An amount for the transaction is allocated among the transaction types in accordance with terms of the transaction and the terms for the allocation.

A vehicle charging station for use in transmitting charging power to an electric vehicle for use in charging the vehicle is configured to communicatively couple to the electric vehicle via a network connection to a wireless network provider and electrically couple to the electric vehicle via a connector. Vehicle charging station is further configured to receive a unique identifier from the electric vehicle via the network connection, deliver a quantity of electrical charging power to the electric vehicle via the connector, and meter the quantity of electrical charging power delivered to the electric vehicle.

TRANSMITTING DISBURSEMENTS FROM A COMMERCIAL FINANCIAL ACCOUNT
A disbursement computing device for transmitting disbursements from a payor to a payee through a payment processing network is provided. The disbursement computing device is configured to receive a disbursement message including at least one disbursement payment instruction for transferring funds from a commercial disbursement financial account of a payor to a financial account of a payee. The disbursement computing device is also configured to automatically transmit, for each disbursement payment instruction, a purchase authorization request message to an issuer bank associated with the payor, and receive a payment authorization message from the issuer bank associated with the payor that the commercial disbursement financial account has a balance that is at least equal to a disbursement amount. The disbursement computing device is further configured to initiate a transfer of funds equal to the disbursement amount from the financial account of the payor to the financial account of the payee.
Electronic Transaction System Having Extended Overdraft Protection
An electronic system, computer-implementable method, and non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium for providing overdraft protection during an electronic financial transaction. In various examples, the electronic system receives, from an account holder, a request for withdrawal of funds from a first account of the account holder held at a first financial institution. If the first account has an amount of funds sufficient to cover the request for withdrawal, the request for withdrawal is completed. If the first account does not have a sufficient amount of funds to cover the request for withdrawal, a real-time electronic payment system is used to transfer an amount of funds from a second account of the account holder held at a second financial institution to the first account to cover the request for withdrawal. The request for withdrawal of funds is completed using funds from the first account.
Electronic Transaction System Having Extended Overdraft Protection
An electronic system, computer-implementable method, and non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium for providing overdraft protection during an electronic financial transaction. In various examples, overdraft protection is provided by transferring funds from accounts held by an account holder at different financial institutions. In one example, transfers take place using a first real-time electronic payment system of a first financial institution and a second real-time electronic payment system of a second financial institution.
