ASSISTANCE DEVICE
An assistance device that enables appropriate evaluation of to what extent a care receiver is using their own leg power. The assistance device is provided with: a body supporting member configured to support the upper body of the care receiver; a first load detecting device provided on the body supporting member, and configured to detect a first load applied by the care receiver; a second load detecting apparatus provided on the body supporting member at a position rearwards of the first load detecting device, and configured to detect a second load applied by the care receiver; and an effort level calculating device configured to calculate effort levels representing to what extent the care receiver is using their own leg power during the standing assistance based on a relationship between the first load and the second load.
Apparatus for rising to a sitting position utilizing a leg anchor
A sit-up apparatus comprises at least a foot anchor rod and a base plate. The base plate is disposed underneath a mattress (or other surface, such as a couch) and positioned adjacent to an edge of the mattress, with the foot anchor rod extending outward horizontally (and positioned somewhat below the top surface of the mattress). In several embodiments, a base connecting rod interconnects the base plate and the anchor rod, providing separation between the two. In use, an individual is able to position a foot underneath the foot anchor rod and quickly rise into a sitting position.
Grip for personal lift aid
A lifting device is herein disclosed including an elongated member of substantially rigid material having a first end and a second end, wherein the elongated member is sufficiently resilient such that the elongated member may bend up to five degrees and still return to a vertical position, at least one grip circumferentially attached to the elongated member, wherein the at least one grip is friction fit onto the elongated member, wherein the at least one grip has a first end, a second end, and a central portion, patient grip safety ring located circumferentially about the first end of the central portion of the at least one grip, wherein the ring has an exterior lip that has a radius between 10 degrees and 45 degrees with respect to a perpendicular axis of the elongated member, and an anchor pad pivotably attached to the second end of the elongated member.

HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE BED
The disclosure relates to a height-adjustable bed, in particular a hospital and/or nursing bed, comprising a bed frame, two bed end pieces, which accommodate the bed frame between said bed end pieces, and two telescopic lifting columns, which each interact with one of the two bed end pieces and have a supporting segment and a moving segment, wherein the lifting columns are arranged on the associated bed end pieces on the outside of the bed by means of the supporting segments of the lifting columns, and wherein the moving segment of a lifting column has a lifting column base, on which a supporting roller that can rotate about the vertical axis thereof is arranged, wherein the distance between the articulation point of the supporting roller and the associated bed end piece exceeds the rotation radius that can be described by the supporting roller about the vertical axis thereof.
Drive system for bed
A bariatric patient management system includes a single-wheel drive system having bi-directional variable speed control through use of a variable control joystick. The single-wheel drive system is disposed on an underside of the bariatric patient management system and engages a floor surface when the bariatric bed is in a lowermost position. The bariatric patient management system further includes a removable headboard having a disconnect feature for disconnecting the variable control joystick from the single-wheel drive system when the headboard is removed. A plurality of three-setting casters is used in conjunction with the single-wheel drive to allow the bariatric patient management system to be manually turned when transported from one location to another. The bariatric patient management system further includes an improved trapeze boom that allows for additional access to a patient adjacent the headboard of the bariatric patient management system.
Accessory frame attachment apparatus
A patient helper apparatus for use with a patient support is disclosed. The patient helper apparatus includes a first L-shaped support tube coupled to the patient support, a shaft coupled to the first L-shaped support tube and extending over the patient support, and an egress handle coupled to the first L-shaped support tube. The egress handle moves between a stowed position and an assist position. In the stowed position, the egress handle is situated inside a footprint of the patient support. In the assist position, the egress handle extends outside the footprint of the patient support.
PATIENT HELPER HANDLE SELF-LOCKING CLAMP
A patient helper includes a support arm configured to be secured to a patient support apparatus, a clamp movable along the support arm to a plurality of positions, a tether supported by the first pin, and a handle supported by the tether. The clamp includes a plurality of grip arms, the grip arms pivotably coupled at a first axis and a first pin. The grip arms are movable between a first position in which the grip arms apply a force to the support arm sufficient to prevent movement of the clamp along the support arm and a second position in which the clamp is free to move along the support arm.
