A technology which is highly safe and furthermore highly convenient in personal authentications via a mobile terminal is provided. A terminal device 200 of the present invention includes: a position determining section 271 that determines a position of the terminal device 200 at predetermined time intervals, and accumulates the position as position information; a movement history generating section 272 that generates a movement history by using the position information accumulated in a predetermined period, and stores the movement history as movement history information; a registration processing section 276 that transmits, for registration, the movement history information to a personal authentication apparatus; and an authentication requesting section 279 that makes an authentication request to the personal authentication apparatus 310 by using the movement history information stored after the transmission by the registration processing section 276 to the personal authentication apparatus 310.

GENERATING POWER SIGNATURES FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Examples disclosed herein provide the ability to determine a power signature of an electronic device. In one example, a controller may track power usage of the electronic device over a period of time, and generate a power signature for the electronic device, based on how the electronic device is being used over the period of time. As an example, the controller may use the power signature to determine a stage the electronic device is in at a particular moment in time.

REPURPOSING A TRANSACTION AUTHORIZATION CHANNEL TO PROVIDE FRAUD NOTIFICATIONS
20200302446 · 2020-09-24 ·

A method for sending a notification indicating fraud using a transaction authorization channel is described. Upon performing a fraud analysis on a first transaction previously authorized by an issuer of an account via the transaction authorization channel, a determination that the first transaction has indications of fraud is performed. In response to determining that the first transaction has indications of fraud, a transaction authorization request message for a second transaction is generated to include a billing descriptor field with data representing a notification of fraud on the account. The transaction authorization request message for the second transaction is sent, via the transaction authorization channel, to an electronic device associated with the issuer of the account so that it will modify the account to include a transaction entry for the second transaction that will be recognized as a fraud notification when an account holder of the account views pending transactions.

LOCATION INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS

Systems, methods, and storage media for location information processing are disclosed. An example of a method comprises: obtaining transaction information from user terminals of a plurality of users using a service provided by a service provider, the transaction information comprising a plurality of pieces of location information of the user terminals; clustering, using an algorithm, the plurality of pieces of location information into a plurality of areas; determining a transaction attribute corresponding to each area in the plurality of areas, the transaction attribute comprising a number of users in a corresponding area and a number of transactions of users using the service in the corresponding area; determining, according to information entropy values of the transaction attributes, a dispersity of the service provided by the service provider according to a number of areas in the plurality of areas and a plurality of transaction attributes corresponding to the plurality of areas.

System and computer-implemented method for identifying defective chip readers through substandard transaction experiences

A system and computer-implemented method for analyzing chip card transactions to identify defective chip cards and/or defective chip readers in need of replacement. Constraints are established to define a subset of card transactions. From a full set of card transactions the subset is identified consisting of each card transaction falling within the constraints and occurring at a merchant having a chip reader. From this subset the unique chip readers are identified, and for each unique chip reader a percentage of fallback transactions is calculated. The percentage of fallback transactions is compared to a maximum value, and if the percentage of fallback transactions exceeds the maximum value, the chip reader is identified as defective. Each defective chip reader is reported to the merchant, along with at least a recommendation to replace the defective chip reader. A similar process may be used to identify defective chip cards.

Alternative service access

Alternative service access with operations including determining that a system has met a plurality of criteria, including the system having a battery level below a threshold, identifying a merchant, generating an authentication token for authorizing a payment using a payment provider, and sending the authentication token to the payment provider.

MULTI-PAGE ONLINE APPLICATION ORIGINATION (OAO) SERVICE FOR FRAUD PREVENTION SYSTEMS

A fraud prevention system that includes a fraud prevention server including an electronic processor and a memory. The memory includes an online application origination (OAO) service. When executing the OAO service, the electronic processor is configured to determine whether the OAO service is enabled and whether a website configuration includes a list of multi-page placements for an online application, determine that input data needs to be stored in the memory and combined into multi-page input data, determine a fraud risk score of the online application based on the multi-page input data and an online application origination (OAO) model that differentiates between a behavior of a normal user and a behavior of a nefarious actor during a submission of the online application on a device, and control a client server to approve, hold, or deny the online application based on the fraud risk score that is determined.

ONLINE APPLICATION ORIGINATION (OAO) SERVICE FOR FRAUD PREVENTION SYSTEMS

A fraud prevention system that includes a client server and a fraud prevention server. The fraud prevention server includes an electronic processor and a memory. When executing the OAO service, the electronic processor is configured to determine a fraud score of an online application based on an online application origination (OAO) model that differentiates between a behavior of a normal user and a behavior of a nefarious actor during a submission of the online application on a device, and control the client server to approve, hold, or deny the online application based on the fraud score that is determined.

FEATURE DRIFT HARDENED ONLINE APPLICATION ORIGINATION (OAO) SERVICE FOR FRAUD PREVENTION SYSTEMS

A fraud prevention system that includes a fraud prevention server including an electronic processor and a memory. The memory includes a feature drift hardened online application origination (OAO) service. When executing the feature drift hardened OAO service, the electronic processor is configured to detect, with respect to a first OAO model, feature drift in a dataset of an online application that exceeds a predefined threshold, generate one or more feature drift hardened OAO models that mitigate the feature drift, determine a fraud score of the online application based on the one or more feature drift hardened OAO models that differentiates between a behavior of a normal user and a behavior of a nefarious actor during a submission of the online application on a device and mitigates the feature drift, and control a client server to approve, hold, or deny the online application based on the fraud score.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF TERMINAL DEVICES

A method for providing performance assessment of terminal devices is provided. A user initiates, by way of a service application that runs on a user device of the user, a first request for obtaining risk scores or connectivity scores of the terminal devices. The first request may include terminal identifiers of specific terminal devices or information pertaining to a specific geographical area. The user device communicates the first request to a server. The server determines the risk scores or the connectivity scores based on the first request. The server transmits, to the user device, a first response that includes the risk scores or the connectivity scores. The user device displays the risk scores or the connectivity scores to the user based on the first response, thereby providing the performance assessment of the terminal devices.
