A controller may include a resource requirement circuit to determine an amount of a resource required for each of the machines to service the task and a resource distribution circuit structured to adaptively improve a utilization of the resource for each of the fleet of machines.
System and method for identifying mobile device users using a wireless communications device at an entity location
Systems and methods are provided for identifying and communicating with a user through the user's mobile device. One example method includes receiving, from the mobile device, a user identifier associated with the user and an entity identifier associated with an entity location, the entity identifier being obtained by the mobile device from a wireless transmitter located adjacent to an entrance of the entity location; retrieving user profile data associated with the user identifier from a user database, the user profile data including a user qualifier; providing the user profile data to a display device at the entity location, the display device configured to display the user profile data, including the user qualifier; and sending at least one notification to the mobile device for display thereon, the at least one notification comprising at least one of information related to the entity location and a portion of the user profile data.

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for a geographic recommendation platform. The geographic recommendation platform receives data identifying a geographic region specified by a user and gathers data relating to the geographic region. The geographic recommendation platform determines, based on the data relating to the geographic region, an anticipated demand for an item within geographic region. The anticipated demand indicates how likely the item is to be purchased by a user that is located within the geographic region. The geographic recommendation platform generates a recommendation for the item based on the anticipated demand. The recommendation indicates the anticipated demand for the item within the geographic region. The geographic recommendation platform transmits the recommendation to the user.
Adjusting demand for order fulfillment during various time intervals for order fulfillment by an online concierge system
An online concierge system allows users to order items within discrete time intervals later than a time when an order was received or for short-term fulfillment when the order was received. To account for a number of shoppers available to fulfill orders during different discrete time intervals and numbers of orders for fulfillment during different discrete time intervals, the online concierge system specifies a target rate for orders fulfilled later than a specified discrete time interval and a threshold from the target rate. A trained machine learning model periodically predicts a percentage of orders being fulfilled late, with an order associated with a predicted percentage when the order was received. The online concierge system increases a price of orders associated with predicted percentages greater than the threshold from the target rate. The increased price of an order is determined from a price elasticity curve and the predicted percentage.
Route finder for integrated planning
Technologies are described for determining possible routes using pre-processing operations. The pre-processing operations determine possible routes from an origin location to a destination location by dynamically generating representations of the transportation networks at runtime. For example, the pre-processing operations can dynamically determine a geographic area, and/or multiple sub-areas, that covers the origin location and the destination location. Possible routes from the origin location to the destination location can then be determined using only those locations within the geographic area and/or sub-areas. The locations that make up the possible routes can be provided for route optimization that utilizes transportation schedules and/or additional transportation requirements.
Prescheduling a rideshare with an unknown pick-up location
A system for directing a ridesharing vehicle may include a communications interface for receiving requests for shared-rides. The system may also include at least one processor programmed to: receive during a first time period a first request from a first user; receive during a first time period a second request from a second user; during the third time period, receive current vehicle location data for ridesharing vehicles, process the first and second requests, and the vehicle location data to identify a specific ridesharing vehicle for transporting both the first and second users, and calculate a ridesharing route for picking up and dropping off the first and second users; and after the third time period and before the second time period, wireless transmit to the specific ridesharing vehicle, the calculated route for picking up the first and second users during the second time period.
Providing local recommendations based on images of consumable items
The present disclosure provides method and apparatus for determining a food item from a photograph and a corresponding restaurant serving the food item. An image is received from a user, the image being associated with a consumable item. One or more ingredients of the consumable item in the image is identified along with a location of the user and using a neural network, determining one or more similar images from a database. A restaurant associated with each of the one or more similar images is determined along with a similarity score indicating a similarity between the restaurant and the identified content of the image. The one or more restaurants and/or associated similar food items are ranked based on the similarity score and a list of ranked restaurants is provided to the user.

An example disclosed method includes initiating a first probing effort of an Internet publisher of interest to establish a baseline advertising ratio for a plurality of advertisers, determining a first advertising deviation based on a difference between the baseline advertising and a local advertising associated with a first geography of interest, and establishing a first probing frequency for the first geography of interest based on the first advertising deviation.
