20200294043 · 2020-09-17 ·

A computer-implemented method for identifying a user in each of two separate domains using a single user identifier via a single identification system so as to permit authorisation of at least one action, the method comprising: receiving a request to identify the user and authorise an action in the first domain; performing a first identification process to identify the user in the first domain, the first identification process comprising: receiving input data relating to a user at an identification system; obtaining a first user identification key from the input data for identifying the user in a first domain and for authorising an action based upon the identification in the first domain; identifying the user in a first domain by using the first identification key; authorising an action based at least in part on the identifying step: and terminating the first identification process; and performing a second identification process to identify the user in the second domain after the first user identification key is obtained and before the termination of the first identification process, the process being distinct from the steps of identifying the user in the first domain and authorising the action, and comprising: obtaining a second user identification key based upon at least the first identification key and a system identifier; and identifying the user in the second domain by using the second identification key.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING RISK BASED DECISIONING SERVICE TO A MERCHANT

A computing device for providing risk-based decisioning to a merchant during payment card transactions is provided herein. The computing device is programmed to receive, from the merchant, transaction data associated with a payment card transaction. The computing device is further programmed to compute a risk score for the payment card transaction based at least in part on the transaction data and infrastructure data associated with the payment card transaction. The computing device is also programmed transmit an indication of acceptable risk to the merchant if the risk score satisfies a first pre-defined threshold. The computing device is still further programmed to initiate an authentication challenge of the suspect consumer if the risk score satisfies a second pre-defined threshold.

Utilizing payment tokens to track rewards

A computer system detects the reception of a first token associated with a first transaction. The computer system determines that a first Payments Reward Identifier (PRI) is associated with the first token by accessing a PRI database. In response to determining that the first PRI is associated with the first token, the computer system accesses the PRI database and determines that the first PRI is associated with a record within the PRI database that corresponds to a first rewards ID (RID). In response to determining that the first PRI is associated with a record within the PRI database that corresponds to the first rewards, the computer system determines a first rewards amount corresponding to the first transaction, and updates a total rewards amount, in a rewards database, corresponding to the determined first RID based on the first rewards amount.

A rewards management system is configured to facilitate the redemption of loyalty benefits at a financial institution and apply credits, payments, debits, and/or the like associated with the loyalty benefit to transactions that are characterized by a set of predetermined rules (e.g. an item purchased during a particular transaction, the merchant from whom the transaction originated, the vendor who manufactured the item). The system provides real-time management of the loyalty account so that the loyalty benefit can be used to offset the liability associated with a particular eligible transaction. The system may also be configured to allow a user to satisfy various obligations to the financial institution (e.g. a minimum payment associated with a statement from a transactions account). As such, the system allows the loyalty account provider or the financial institution to provide a customizable rewards program that allows loyalty benefits to be used for any type of transaction.

A data extraction system for extracting a unique identifier from a plurality of different types of tokens, the data extraction system comprising a central processing system arranged to receive a data string representing an image of the token, the central processing system comprises: a data store of predetermined data records relating to the plurality of different types of token, each predetermined data record including a plurality of discrete features derived from an image of each type of token; a token type recognition module for identifying a type of token which the representation relates to, the recognition module comprising: a discrete feature identifier for iteratively identifying discrete features present in the representation; and a matching engine for iteratively comparing each of the identified features with each of the discrete features of the plurality of different types of token stored in the data store and registering each matched feature; wherein the recognition module is arranged to compare a current number of registered matched features of the representation with a predetermined number of minimum matched features and when the current number of registered matched features is at least equal to the at least the predetermined number of minimum matched features to determine which type of token the representation relates to; a data extractor for extracting at least one unique identifier of the token from the representation, wherein the data extractor is arranged to use the type of token identified by the token type recognition module to locate a region of the representation where the unique identifier is provided and to focus a data extraction process at that region.

System and method for targeted marketing and consumer resource management

Systems and methods are provided for providing targeted marketing to goods and services provides and consumer resource management services to consumers. An example system and method for targeted marketing comprises collecting transaction data from point-of-sale (POS) terminals and using a consumer identifier in the transaction data to access stored information about the consumer. This information may be used to target offers and advertisement to the consumer. In an example system for consumer resource management, a consumer may configure a consumer account on the enterprise infrastructure via a web-site. The consumer may use the consumer account to purchase and configure gift cards that may be used for purchasing goods and services. A universal transaction identifier may be associated with the consumer account and used to purchase goods and services from more than one selected goods and services providers.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING CUSTOMERS WITH MATCHING REWARDS

A computer-implemented method for providing account holders with a reward based on similar rewards previously obtained through other accounts. The method includes identifying, using one or more computer processors configured to access an account database, an eligible account based on eligibility criteria, wherein the eligible account is associated with an account of an account holder stored in the account database; receiving identifying data that identifies the eligible account; associating a customer identifier with the identifying data from the eligible account; for each customer identifier, receiving confirmation data associated with a separate account of the account holder, wherein the confirmation data comprises a reward variable; validating, using one or more computer processors, the confirmation data; and rewarding the eligible account with a matching variable, wherein the matching variable is approximately equal to the reward variable.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING FRAUD INDICATOR DATA WITHIN AN AUTHENTICATION PROTOCOL

A computing device for risk-based analysis of a payment card transaction is provided herein. The computing device includes a processor communicatively coupled to a memory. The computing device is programmed to receive a request for authentication of the payment card transaction. The payment card transaction includes a suspect consumer presenting a payment card from a digital wallet of a privileged cardholder. The computing device is also programmed to identify fraud feature data from the digital wallet. The computing device is further programmed to compute a fraud score for the payment card transaction based at least in part on the fraud feature data. The computing device is still further programmed to provide the fraud score for use during authentication of the suspect consumer.

REWARDS PROGRAM

The rewards program system and method provide an efficient and effective way for customers to enroll in rewards programs, and accrue and redeem rewards at participating merchants. The system generates promotions, analyzes transaction data to identify whether a customer used a promotion, issued by the system (e.g., promotions provider), with a merchant. When the customer redeems a promotion, the system accrues reward amounts in a customer account, and allows the customer to redeem accrued rewards amounts. The system generates credit card profiles and customer profiles, and offers customers subsequent promotions based on the transaction data and/or the customer's customer profile. The system issues the customer subsequent promotions when the amount credited to the rewards account satisfies a redemption threshold. The subsequent promotions may be redeemable at merchants that have promotions issued by the promotion provider, including the merchant where the promotion was used that resulted in the credited amount.
