MATTRESS RETENTION ASSEMBLY AND RADIOFREQUENCY WELD IN SURFACE COVERS
A hospital bed includes a sleep deck having an upper portion, a middle portion, and a lower portion each defining a support surface and an underbody that defines a notch. An opening is defined by and extends through the upper portion. A space is defined between the upper portion and the middle portion. A mattress is disposed on the sleep deck. An outer mattress shell encases the mattress and includes a fold defined by a weld. A mattress retention assembly is coupled to the outer mattress shell. The mattress retention assembly includes at least one of a first magnet and a second magnet selectively coupling the mattress to the sleep deck, a portion of the mattress retention assembly extends between the outer mattress shell and the sleep deck, an affixing member disposed on the outer mattress shell, and a retention ridge extending through the sleep deck.
MODULAR MATTRESS SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Modular mattress systems and methods are described. For example, a modular mattress can include a fabric cover configured to surround at least two foam layers. The fabric cover can include an opening to allow access to an interior region of the fabric cover. The mattress can include a first foam layer positioned within the interior region of the fabric cover, and an encasement layer positioned below the first foam layer. The encasement layer can include a recess configured to receive one or more modular support sections. The mattress can also include a plurality of modular support components received within the recess of the encasement.
Cushioning devices with internal shear absorbing layer
Shear-reduction cushioning devices are provided for the prevention of shear related wounds. Cushioning devices include upper and lower cushioning layers that contact each other through at least one internal shear reduction layer provided between the cushioning layers and extending over a shear reduction region, such that dynamic relative translation of the two cushioning layers is permitted within the shear reduction region while absorbing friction and shear internally. The interface between the cushioning layers (where the shear reduction layer is provided) may be angled relative to an external surface of the cushioning device. The cushioning layers may be attached or attachable to one another beyond the shear reduction region, to limit an amount of relative translation of the cushioning layers and to re-center or reset the cushioning layers after use.
CUSHION
Provided is a cushion including a pad, an envelope, and a support pad set. The pad has a sunken portion. The envelope is disposed on the pad. The envelope has a pocket-shaped body. A plurality of coupling portions is disposed at edges of the body. The support pad set includes an upper foam pad, a lower foam pad, and a soft gel pad. The support pad set is disposed in the body of the envelope.
Patient repositioning sheet and sling
A patient repositioning apparatus doubles as a repositioning sheet and a sling. The repositioning apparatus includes a sheet with an upper surface and an opposing lower surface and defines an outer periphery that has opposing side edges. The upper surface of the sheet has an upper surface material, and the lower surface of the sheet has a lower surface material that is formed from a relatively low-friction material as compared to the upper surface material. The handles are disposed along the opposing side edges of the sheet, and the strap members are attached to the sheet and distributed across both opposing side edges. Each of the strap members includes a strap portion that forms a bight in the strap member.
Apparatus and system for boosting, transferring, turning and positioning a patient
An inflatable device for turning or positioning a person in a bed. The inflatable device includes an inflatable body formed by a top sheet and a bottom sheet disposed beneath the top sheet to define a cavity configured to be inflated such that the top sheet forms a top wall of the cavity and the bottom sheet forms a bottom wall of the cavity. The device further includes at least one port having a port opening in fluid communication with the cavity and configured to provide an air input for air for inflating the cavity, wherein the at least one port comprises an elastic member for adjusting a size of the port opening.
Cushion set
Provided is a cushion set including a pad, a filling pad, an envelope, and a support pad set. The pad has a first-tier sunken portion and a second-tier sunken portion. The filling pad is disposed in the second-tier sunken portion. The soft gel pad corresponds in position to the filling pad of the second-tier sunken portion of the pad.
APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR BOOSTING, TRANSFERRING, TURNING AND POSITIONING A PATIENT
A valve for an inflatable device includes a pocket configured to be located in a cavity of the inflatable device. The pocket includes an entrance opening to receive air from an air output. The pocket further includes a first layer of material having at least a first aperture, wherein the first aperture is positioned entirely within the first layer of material, a second layer of material having at least a second aperture in fluid communication with the first aperture, wherein the second aperture is positioned entirely within the second layer of material. The first aperture and the second aperture are in fluid communication with the entrance opening and the cavity such that airflow passes through the valve by flowing from the entrance opening into the pocket, and out of the pocket and into the cavity through at least one of the first aperture or the second aperture.
Patient support structure, pressure relief module and non-powered pressure regulation method
A patient support structure includes a first supporting part, a second supporting part and a third supporting part. The first supporting part includes a first resilient member; the second supporting part includes a second resilient member; and the third supporting part is between the first supporting part and the second supporting part. The first supporting part, the second supporting part and the third supporting part together define a supporting surface extending along a longitudinal axis, and the second resilient member includes a first supporting area and a second supporting area different in supporting strength.
Systems, methods, and devices for the treatment of sleep disorders
A sleep apparatus, such as a mattress for example, is provided in one embodiment. The apparatus comprises a head support surface sized to support a person's head, and a torso support surface sized to support a person's torso. The head support surface is generally laterally sloped moving from the first side toward the second side, and the torso support surface is generally laterally sloped moving from the first side toward the second side. In some embodiments, the lateral slope of the head support surface is at least about 15, the lateral slope of the head support surface is greater than the lateral slope of the torso support surface, and/or, the sleep apparatus slopes in the longitudinal direction as well.
