Personalized taxonomy to support a voice-based interface on a user device
Techniques for enhancing functionalities of a voice-based user device are described. In an example a computer system generates, from a first taxonomy, a second taxonomy for a user based on an item purchase history. The computer system also identifies items based on this history and generates a list that associates the items with categories of the second taxonomy. Based on a user utterance, the computer system generates text-to-speech content from the list. This content includes category information and item information. The category information identifies a first category from the categories. The item information identifies a first item from the items, where this item is associated with the first category. The category information and the item information are presented to the user. The computer system adds an identifier of the first item to an item checkout process based on the presentation of the item information.

Exemplary implementations may: receive a sales request that indicates the selling user will be offering for sale a particular virtual item through at least two online sales platforms simultaneously; assign ownership of the particular virtual item temporarily to a holding account; generate sales listings of the particular virtual item for publications on the at least two online sales platforms; effectuate the publications of the sales listings; receive indications of offers to purchase the particular virtual item; determine an accepted offer that is accepted; notify the at least two online sales platforms of whether the offers have been accepted or denied; identify a buyer's account of the buying user; effectuate assignment of the ownership of the particular virtual item to the buyer's account.

CLUSTERING ITEMS OFFERED BY AN ONLINE CONCIERGE SYSTEM TO CREATE AND TO RECOMMEND COLLECTIONS OF ITEMS TO USERS
An online concierge system maintains information about items offered for purchase and users of the online concierge system. Based on prior purchases of items by users, the online concierge system trains a model to determine a likelihood of a user purchasing an item based on an embedding for the object and embedding for the user. The online concierge system identifies a collection of items and generates an embedding for the collection. The collection may be a cluster of items determined from similarities between embeddings of items. Alternatively, the collection may be a group of items having a common category. The online concierge system includes one or more collections of items along with individual items when recommending items for the users, so the trained model is applied to embeddings of the individual items and to embeddings of the one or more collections to generate recommendations for a user.
