In one aspect, a computerized system for distributing an estimated monetary value of a used vehicle on the Internet, the Internet including a server and a computer with a monitor, the used vehicle being associated with a seller of the used vehicle, which used vehicles is offered for sale to a used-vehicle retailer, the system including: a server including a category-agnostic pricing engine that evaluates the fair price range of any used automobile and is configured to implement the following steps: identify the seller of the used vehicle; identify a used-vehicle retailer to offer the used vehicle to for sale; determine a mileage of the used vehicle; determine a condition of the used vehicle; collect a set of samples of one or more used-vehicle types, wherein the set of samples includes a make of each used-vehicle type, a model of each used-vehicle type and a year of production of each vehicle type; collect a set of used-vehicle sales data for the set of samples of the one or more used-vehicle types for a specified period, and wherein the used-vehicle sales data includes a sale price statistic for the set of samples as a function of at least vehicle mileage and vehicle condition; generate a depreciation curve for each used-vehicle type based on the used-vehicle sales data of each sampled used-vehicle type; group each sampled used-vehicle types with a set of similar depreciation patterns into a depreciation segment, wherein the depreciation segment includes a group of vehicle types that present a similar depreciation pattern within specified thresholds of the used-vehicle sales data; match the used-vehicle of the seller to the deprecation segment; determine a monetary value of the used vehicle based on the deprecation segment; provide a web page that includes a display of the monetary value of the used vehicle based on the deprecation segment; receive a request for the web page from either the seller's computing device or the used-vehicle retailer's computing device; configure the web page to display the monetary value of the used vehicle based on the deprecation segment; and communicate the web page configured to display the monetary value of the used vehicle to either the seller's computing device or the used-vehicle retailer's computing device.

Vector-Based Characterizations of Products and Individuals with Respect to Personal Partialities
20170300992 · 2017-10-19 ·

Various partialities (including but not limited to partialities based on values, aspirations, preferences, and/or affinities) for individual persons are represented as corresponding vectors. The length and/or the angle of the vector represents the magnitude of the strength of the individual's belief in the good that comes from that imposed order. Vectors can also be specified to characterize corresponding products and/or services. These vectors for persons and products/services can be leveraged in any of a wide variety of ways.

A system and method to attribute expiration dates and quantities of a product to an SKU code for pricing purposes. This method applies dynamic pricing to perishable food items. Using bulk tagging capabilities, the supermarket can attribute expiration dates to items without the pain of actually tagging the items with stickers.

Product catalog services
09792597 · 2017-10-17 · ·

A product catalog service allows business entities to create and store product catalogs indicating products that are available from the business entities. A product catalog includes multiple product family definitions. Each product family definition specifies attribute names of a product family and, for each attribute name, a set of allowed attribute values. In order to specify a particular product variant, an entity may supply one of the allowed attribute values for each specified attribute name of the product. The product catalogs may be received from multiple business entities. Each product catalog may also be shared with multiple business entities. A merchant, for example, may select products from a product catalog to purchase from another merchant. When creating a product catalog, a business entity may reference product family definitions of other product catalogs.

EXHIBITION INFORMATION PRESENTATION METHOD AND SYSTEM

An exhibition information presentation method includes acquiring an exhibition information presentation activation operation inputted by a first user, the exhibition information presentation activation operation being associated with product information currently browsed or searched by a second user; and displaying exhibition information or an exhibition information link item corresponding to the product information at a preset first position, where the exhibition information link item is used for acquiring a link operation inputted by the first user to open a corresponding exhibition information presentation page. In this way, product presentation is combined with exhibition information presentation, and a user can instantly know information about an exhibition in which a product participates when browsing or searching for the product, thus expanding the coverage of exhibition information of the product, expanding a channel of communications between the user and a merchant, and improving the efficiency of communications between the user and the merchant.

Method for analyzing and ranking venues

A technique is disclosed for ranking venues and for providing a user with one or more of the ranked venues. To do so, a data processing system trains a model during a first, training sequence, by using a training dataset of past check-ins that were made by users visiting venues. The trained model, representing a learned hypothesis, represents venues that are ranked according to their relevance to users who are also represented by the model. During a second, run-time sequence, the system receives real-time geolocation data that represents users and generates a set of candidate venues for a user by determining venues that are nearby the geolocation of the user. The system then ranks the generated candidate venues by applying the learned hypothesis. One or more of the ranked venues can be provided to a user's wireless terminal, for example, where they can be presented as venue recommendations.

Systems and methods for determining long term relevance with query chains

Embodiments of the present invention provide improved techniques for determining long term relevance and user behavior using query chains. The query chains may first be detected and then annotated into different types of chains based at least in part on various decision rules, machine-learned classifiers, and inter-query relationships. The query chains may then be subsequently used to train models for predicting user behavior and providing more relevant results to a user's queries. A content provider system according to various embodiments may aggregate historical data associated with previous search and/or transaction data, which may be analyzed to detect query chains, for example, whether queries are chained to each other. Determining whether queries are chained to each other may involve incorporating decision rules and reformulation models, analyzing temporal windows between queries, and/or analyzing inter-query relationships.
