Some aspects of the present disclosure are directed to computerized methods for extracting attributes from product titles. The method may include: retrieving a title associated with a product listing and historical product title data; refining the title; determining at least one tag associated with an attribute; generating, based on the at least one extracted tag and the historical title data, a first combination of one or more attributes; determining whether the title includes at least one plurality of product options, and if so: determining, for each product option in the plurality of product options, a second combination of one or more attributes by removing attributes associated with alternative product options from the first combination; and generating a product identifier based on the second combination; and if the title does not include at least one plurality of product options, generating, the product identifier based on the first combination.

This disclosure describes an online social and collaborative commerce system and method thereof that provides an interactive and virtual personal shopping experience through a platform that facilitates direct selling of products or services. The experience may utilizes a network of independent representatives, consultants or stylist to sell the products or services to consumers or guests. In one illustrative embodiment, information is received from a hostess to begin a direct selling event. A stylist may be matched with the event and a set of hostess' guests are invited. Using this information, a specific website for the event is generated. A stylist portal, hostess portal and at least one guest portal to the specific website is launched for the event. Through the stylist portal, a selection of products or services may be displayed on the at least one guest portal for purchase. The hostess portal may be used to facilitate the event.

A search application can return results including items listings posted to a website. An item listing can be posted to the website in a first format for a first time period and posted to the website in a second format for a second period of time. Responsive to a query for an item, results can be displayed in both the first format and the second format in a user interface.

Methods and systems to automatically respond to a request for product information are described. In one embodiment, a data collection module may collect product data over a network, identify that the product data is related to a particular product, and store the product data and an association between the product data and the particular product in a database. An instant messaging engine may receive a request for the product data after the product data is stored in the database and an interpreter module may identify, in response to the request, the request to correspond to the particular product and retrieve the product data based on the association between the particular product and the product data. The instant messaging engine may also transmit, using an instant messaging protocol, a response to the request, the response including the product data.

A method and system of using widgets embedded in web pages as virtual storefronts is disclosed. A user of a social networking site may create a merchant account with a transaction service provider. The user embeds a storefront widget provided by the transaction service provider in the user's profile page on the social networking site and the user can use the storefront widget to input information about products that the user is selling. Other users of the social networking site view the user's profile page and the storefront widget will display the products that the user is selling. The other users may interact with the storefront widget to purchase the products that the user is selling.

According to various exemplary embodiments, an electronic text message is received from a source telephone number, the electronic text message including content describing a product item. A seller of the product item is identified, based on the source telephone number, and the product item is identified, based on the content included in the electronic text message. Thereafter, a draft version of an item listing is automatically generated, where the item listing lists the product item as being for sale by the seller on a marketplace website.

Generally discussed herein are systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing information regarding a product that is unique to a geographical region. In one or more embodiments a method may include determining a location of a user, receiving information indicative of one or more products unique to a particular geographical region corresponding to the determined location of the user, wherein each of the one or more products are offered for sale in the particular region by one or more merchants, and providing information about at least one of the products and about a merchant, from the one or more merchants, offering that product for sale in the geographical region.

There is provided a computer-implemented method of providing an itinerary search result, the method including the steps of: (i) presenting in a computing device user interface events proximate to a selected date, wherein the events are obtained from a calendar on the device; (ii) providing a selectable option in the user interface to select an itinerary search corresponding at least in part to the presented calendar events; (iii) receiving a selection of the selectable option; (iv) sending an itinerary search request to a server; (v) receiving an itinerary search result from the server, and (vi) presenting the itinerary search result in the user interface on the device. A method for assisting selection of an accommodation by an accommodation search system includes receiving user credentials from a user device; receiving trip parameters from the user device; determining a basic list of accommodations that correspond with the trip parameters; determining one or more factors that apply to each individual accommodation of the basic list of accommodations; applying a weight value to each of the one or more factors that apply to each individual accommodation of the basic list of accommodations; aggregating the weight values of the one or more factors that apply to each individual accommodation to determine an aggregate weighted score for each individual accommodation of the basic list of accommodations; sorting the basic list of accommodations into a sorted list of accommodations based on the aggregate weighted score for each individual accommodation; and providing the sorted list of accommodations to the user device for viewing by a user.

Systems and methods of assisting in an electronic shopping experience are disclosed. A request may be received, from a user on a device having a user interface, to search for an item listed for sale in a marketplace. A balance amount of an account associated with or available to the user at the marketplace is displayed in the user interface. The search results are limited to at least one item having a sales price less than the displayed balance amount and the at least one item is displayed in the user interface. The account may be a user account at a payment service provider.
