The systems and methods provided herein may allow a user to receive search results that are tailored to the user's personal preferences based on social and purchasing information known about the user. In addition, the systems and methods provided herein may provide shipping updates to a buyer that include a personalized message based on location information provided by the package being shipped. In addition, the systems and methods provided herein allow merchants to provide incentives and rewards for shoppers by participating in interactive shopping games.

A computer-implemented method for providing capability indicators includes establishing, by a processor of a computing system, a digital marketplace for digital goods, such as web applications and browser extensions. The method includes determining, by the processor, that a first digital good of the digital goods includes a specified set of modes, where the specified set of modes includes executing the first digital good without access to a network, and providing to a client device, by the processor, instructions to display a graphical indicator representing at least one of the specified set of modes, wherein the graphical indicator is associated with a graphical icon representing the first digital good in the digital marketplace.

A token specifying a payment account is issued to a party to which payments are to be made and the token is installed in a specially configured camera. Whenever a photograph is captured by the camera, a copy of the token, among other things, is embedded in the photograph’s metadata. The metadata may also include photo-specific information and a selling price. When a buyer selects the photo for purchase, the token may be used to facilitate a payment to the party, such as the photographer. The buyer may initiate the transaction by simply dragging the selected photograph or photographs onto a purchase application which automatically extracts price and the token for initiating the purchase transaction. The seller can view the purchase details in the payment account.

Ring attributes may be predicted using a predictive model. A diamond selection system determines predicted ring attributes by obtaining and analyzing data related to a recipient, such as social media activity. According to the present invention, digital content remains persistent with a location even if visual aspects of the location change.

Systems and techniques for a design-aware image search are described. The design-aware image search techniques described herein capture a design on an item to determine additional items with similar or matching designs. An image of the item is used to create an edge image of a design, and shape descriptors are generated describing features of the edge image. These shape descriptors are compared to shape descriptors associated with other images to locate images that have similar or matching designs as compared with the input image. The design-aware image search system may use these relationships to generate a search result with images or products having a design similar to the design on the input image.

Systems and methods for rendering items with a user interface of an electronic device are described. According to certain aspects, an electronic device may detect its orientation and render, in a user interface, a physical item using a rendering effect determined from the orientation. As a user of the electronic device reorients the electronic device, the electronic device may automatically and dynamically update the rendering with an updated rendering effect to reflect the updated orientation. In embodiments, the user may use the electronic device to complete an order for the physical item.

A system and method for intelligent item reordering using an adaptable mobile graphical user interface is described herein. In some instances, the system may generate a graphical user interface including a first set of graphical elements representing a first set of items, and receive a first input selecting a particular item of the first set of items, the first set of graphical elements including a graphical element representing the particular item. The system may generate a graphical list of quantities and render the graphical list of quantities at a first position in the graphical user interface based on the graphical element representing the particular item in the graphical user interface. In some instances, the system may receive a second input identifying a selected quantity from the graphical list of quantities and modify the graphical element representing the particular item to indicate the selected quantity.
