A method executed by a system for selecting images from a plurality of image groups originating from a plurality of QC imagers of an in-vivo device includes calculating, or otherwise associating, a general score (GS) for images of each image group, to indicate the probability that each image includes at least one pathology, dividing each image group into image subgroups, identifying a set Set(i) of maximum general scores (MGSs), a MGS for each image subgroup of each image group; and selecting images for processing by identifying a MGS|max in each set S(i) of MGSs; identifying the greatest MGS|max and selecting the image related to the greatest MGS1max. The method further includes modifying the set Set(i) of MGSs related to the selected image, and repeating the steps described above until a predetermined criterion selected from a group consisting of a number N of images and a score threshold is met.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF PRESSURE ULCER SEVERITY

Evaluating a pressure ulcer includes: detecting in a color input image a boundary of the pressure ulcer to get a RGB region of interest (ROI) image; converting the RGB ROI image to a grayscale ROI image; processing the grayscale ROI image using a Linear Combination of Discrete Gaussians (LCDG) process to estimate three main class probabilities of the grayscale ROI image; processing the RGB ROI image using predetermined RGB values to estimate the three main class probabilities of the RGB ROI image; and combining the probabilities of the grayscale ROI image and the probabilities of the RGB ROI image to determine an estimated labeled image; and normalizing and refining the estimated labeled image using a Generalized Gauss-Markov Random Field (GGMRF) process to produce a final segmentation image.

A method and device for determining a flow situation in a vessel are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the method, a first image data set containing image information relating to the vessel is used and a vascular tree of the vessel is segmented based upon the first image data set. An organ is also segmented based upon the first image data set or of a second image data set and the organ is assigned at least one area of a parenchyma of the organ. Via texture analysis, a texture of the area of the organ is determined and, depending on the texture, the area of the organ is assigned a flow characteristic. Depending on the vascular tree and the flow characteristic assigned to the area of the organ, a value of a measured variable characteristic of the flow situation within the vessel is then determined via a numerical method.

MEDICAL REPORT LABELING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE THEREWITH

A medical scan report labeling system is operable to transmit a medical report that includes natural language text to a first client device for display. Identified medical condition term data is received from the first client device in response. An alias mapping pair in a medical label alias database is identified by determining that a medical condition term of the alias mapping pair compares favorably to the identified medical condition term data. A medical code that corresponds to the alias mapping pair and a medical scan that corresponds to the medical report are transmitted to a second client device of an expert user for display, and accuracy data is received from the second client device in response. The medical code is mapped to the first medical scan in the medical scan database when the accuracy data indicates that the medical code compares favorably to the medical scan.
