Patient Support Formed From An Elastomeric Composition Including A Polymer Blend Of Seeps Copolymers
This disclosure provides a person support formed from an elastomeric composition. The elastomeric composition includes a polymer blend with the polymer blend consisting essentially of a first and second SEEPS copolymer. The first and second SEEPS copolymers are present in the polymer blend in an amount of from 75 to 95 percent by weight and 5 to 25 percent by weight, respectively, based on the total weight of the polymer blend. In addition, the sum of the first and second SEEPS copolymers in the polymer blend is 100 percent by weight. The first and second SEEPS copolymers have a weight average molecular weight of weight of at least 200,000 and 125,000 to 175,000, respectively. The disclosure also provides a patient support for supporting a patient with the patient support formed from the elastomeric composition.
AUTOMATIC PATIENT TURNING AND LIFTING METHOD, SYSTEM, AND APPARATUS
Automatic patient turning and lifting method, system, and apparatus. An exemplary turning and lifting mattress device discloses herein includes a plurality of left and right inflatable turning bladders, a mattress support structure positioned on the bladders and itself including an outer mattress casing including an inner chamber filled with a plurality of particles, at least one contact surface configured to be in contact with a patient during use, wherein the outer mattress casing is configured to be inflated and evacuated such that the outer mattress casing is capable of being shapeable when inflated, and forms a resilient structure configured to hold its shape when evacuated, and wherein, during use, the at least one contact surface conforms to the shape of a body, the plurality of particles displaced from around the body leaving a depression on the at least one contact surface in the shape of the body.
Dynamic Load-Absorbing Materials and Articles
A double-shell helmet is disclosed. The double-shell helmet includes an outer shell, an impact absorbing material layer affixed to the outer shell on a first side of the impact absorbing material layer, an inner shell affixed to the impact absorbing material layer on a second side of the impact absorbing material layer opposite the first side of the impact absorbing material layer, and a foam layer affixed to the inner shell.
OVERLAY
The invention provides an overlay configured to substantially conform to a contoured surface. The overlay comprises at least a first layer having a rear surface on which a plurality of channels are located. Optionally, the overlay also comprises one or more removable contouring members, which are located between adjacent channels on the rear surface of the overlay.
PRESSURE-ELIMINATING SEATING APPARATUS
According to at least one embodiment, a pressure-eliminating seating apparatus for preventing formation and/or treating existing pressure ulcers, sores, or lesions, and/or relieving nerve pain in a lower region of an immobilized person, or any other user, is disclosed. The seating apparatus may include a body having a front edge, a pair of opposed side edges, a rear edge, a depth, and an aperture defined therein. To allow for the immobilized person, or other user, to sit comfortably and properly on top of the seating apparatus, the seating apparatus may be compressed to a depth of approximately 4 inches. The seating apparatus may also include a cover to prevent the depth from expanding to greater than approximately 4 inches. The apparatus may allow for suspension of bony prominences in the lower region of the immobilized person, or other user, in air.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SUPPORTING AND CONTAINING PREMATURE BABIES AND SMALL-FOR-AGE INFANTS
Infant support devices and containment devices are described for use with premature and small-for-age infants, and in particular premature babies two kilograms or less, and even babies of one kilograms or less. The devices can be used separately or in combination (whereupon both support and containment are achieved together).
PERSON SUPPORT
A person support for supporting a person includes a first layer and a resilient second layer. The first layer has a surface topography with a first region with a curvature configured to correspond and generally conform, in an unloaded state, to the shape of a first portion of a person's body. The surface topography has a second region configured to correspond and generally conform, in an unloaded state, to the shape of a second portion of a person's body. The resilient second layer overlays the first layer and forms a person support surface.
PATIENT SUPPORT STRUCTURE, PRESSURE RELIEF MODULE AND NON-POWERED PRESSURE REGULATION METHOD
A patient support structure comprises a first supporting part, a second supporting part and a third supporting part. The first supporting part comprises a first resilient member; the second supporting part comprises a second resilient member; and the third supporting part is between the first supporting part and the second supporting part. The first supporting part, the second supporting part and the third supporting part together define a supporting surface extending along a longitudinal axis, and the second resilient member comprises a first supporting area and a second supporting area different in supporting strength.
Bed for hospital stay
A bed for hospital stays, of the type that can be articulated and comprising a plurality of sections which correspond to the regions of the back, buttocks, thighs and legs of the in-patient; one of the sections, the one that corresponds to the buttocks region, has at least one portion thereof which is movable and articulated to the section of the backrest and, when the backrest is lifted, is translated, exposing a curved element, which extends from the lying surface downwardly, and being inclined on the curved element contributes together with it to form a cradle for the buttocks region.
