Adjustable bed with improved shear reducing mechanism
A sliding thorax assembly subframe is mounted to a thorax assembly main frame section of an articulating bed and is adapted to descend as the torso section of the bed is raised to an inclined position. The mechanism, which is optionally combined with a slideback mechanism to extend the pelvic area of the bed in a longitudinal direction, reduces compressive and shear forces on the patient during bed articulation.
ALTERNATING-PRESSURE SUPPORT AND PATIENT BED, AND METHOD FOR OPERATION
An alternating-pressure support includes a plurality of support elements and a guide arrangement with at least two guides that are opposite one another in a transverse direction and extend in a longitudinal direction. The support elements are movably mounted at opposite ends in the guides. The support elements are configured for elastically supporting a load impacting them, i.e. a load borne by the alternating-pressure support. A patient bed having such an alternating-pressure support and a method for operating such an alternating-pressure support are also provided.
HOSPITAL BED WITH APPARATUS CAPABLE OF AUTOMATICALLY CHANGING BED SHEETS WITHOUT DISTURBING OCCUPIED PERSON, ALSO A METHOD OF PREVENTING AND RELIEVING ULCERS
The present invention relates generally to an ultimate comfort n care bed, and a bed apparatus capable of seamlessly changing bed sheets while being occupied by a person, a method of relieving ulcers, and a method thereof. The present invention also relates to a medical or a hospital bed, and, more particularly, to a hospital bed capable of seamlessly changing bed-sheets while the hospital bed is occupied by a patient. The present invention also comprises of a medical bed apparatus which allows the seamlessly changing of a used bed sheet with a new bed sheet while the bed is occupied by a person, and a method thereof
Person support apparatus having exercise therapy features
A person support apparatus includes a support surface having a patient facing surface and includes a head section, a seat section, and a foot section, the head section and the foot section being rotatable with respect to the seat section. One or more actuators are provided to rotate the head section and the foot section with respect to the seat section. At least one strain gauge is provided proximate the patient facing surface of the support surface to detect a change in pressure against at least one of the head section and the foot section. A controller is configured to transmit a signal to one or more of the actuators to rotate a corresponding one of the head section or the foot section in response to receiving data from the at least one strain gauge indicating a change in pressure that exceeds a predetermined reduction in pressure.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A MOTORIZED AND MODULAR AUTOMATED HIGH-RESOLUTION MATTRESS AND MATTRESS-BED ASSEMBLY FOR PREVENTION AND HEALING BED SORES
The present invention is a modular mattress assembly that can prevent the appearance of bed sores and can heal the developed sores by spreading the weight of the body on the mattress using an array of motorized support. The modular mattress is an array of small cushionettes each placed on top of a linear motion mechanism. Each cushionette can be adjusted in height independently of any other cushionettes through the electrical linear motion mechanism. This actively adjustable array mechanism of the mattress which can extend infinitely in Z-axis through motorized linear actuator brings a high resolution of the shape of the mattress. The array can change position in XYZ axis to accurately accommodate the patients medically required shape and skin contact points. The device uses predefined and amended algorithms to adapt the patients' situations individually or provide personalized treatment.

Integrated automatic turning bed system
An integrated automatic turning bed system is provided. The system integrates the system controller with subsystems such as an electric turning bed, a pressure-sensing mattress, and/or an electronic diaper machine, and achieves comprehensive care for incapacitated bedridden people through automation and intelligence. By utilizing subsystem sensing and system controller to control and ensure the stability, reliability, and control accuracy of the system, the safety and comfort of the bedridden people can be ensured and care services are improved, which also effectively reduces the burden on caregivers at the same time.
PRESSURE ULCER PREVENTION BED USING BODY PRESSURE SENSORS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A pressure ulcer prevention bed using body pressure sensors and a control method thereof are proposed. The pressure ulcer prevention bed includes a plurality of raising and lowering link modules arranged in parallel adjacent to an upper surface of a bed support unit and whose raising and lowering is independently controlled by parallelogram links, the body pressure sensors provided in the respective raising and lowering link modules and constantly collecting body pressure sensing information for each part of a human body applied to each raising and lowering link module, a servo motor provided in the parallelogram links of each raising and lowering link module, and a motion control unit connected to the servo motor through wired and wireless communication and independently controlling each raising and lowering link module by using the body pressure sensing information individually transmitted from the body pressure sensors.
Articulating bed convertible to assist chair
An articulating bed includes an outer support frame, an inner convertible frame coupled to and supported within the outer support frame, and a mattress platform mounted above the inner convertible frame and configured to support a mattress thereon. The mattress platform has a body platform and a leg platform. The articulating bed also includes a support plate secured to the inner convertible frame, a body lifting device secured to the support plate and to the body platform configured to raise and lower the body platform, and a leg lifting device secured to the support plate and to the leg platform configured to raise and lower the leg platform. The support plate is configured to spin the mattress platform over the outer support frame when the body platform and the leg platform are raised and the mattress platform is converted into an assist chair.
