SENSING DEVICE
A sensing device includes a substrate, a first circuit, a second circuit, a first photodetector, and a second photodetector. The first circuit is disposed on the substrate, and configured to sense a fingerprint. The second circuit is disposed on the substrate, and configured to detect a data of a living body. The first photodetector is electrically connected to the first circuit. The second photodetector is electrically connected to the second circuit. The area of the second photodetector is larger than the area of the first photodetector.
REMOTE BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION AND LIGHTING
A biometric capture device is operative to adjust one or more environmental parameters to enhance a range (e.g., distance) at which a biometric may be captured from a subject. For example, a sample biometric capture device may be, include, or otherwise incorporate a retinal or iris scanner configured to capture an image of the retina or iris (e.g., a biometric) when the retina or iris is illuminated by infrared light. Generally, the amount of infrared light required to accurately image the retina or iris increases with the distance of the subject's retina or iris from the image capture device. The biometric capture device may capture a facial image using a first image sensor, identify a face in the facial image, capture an iris image using a second image sensor guided by the facial image, and identify a person using the iris image.
ACTIVE DUAL PIXEL STEREO SYSTEM FOR DEPTH EXTRACTION
A miniaturized active dual pixel stereo system and method for close range depth extraction includes a projector adapted to project a locally distinct projected pattern onto an image of a scene and a dual pixel sensor including a dual pixel sensor array that generates respective displaced images of the scene. A three-dimensional image is generated from the displaced images of the scene by projecting the locally distinct projected pattern onto the image of the scene, capturing the respective displaced images of the scene using the dual pixel sensor, generating disparity images from the respective displaced images of the scene, determining depth to each pixel of the disparity images, and generating the three-dimensional image from the determined depth to each pixel. A three-dimensional image of a user's hands generated by the active dual pixel stereo system may be processed by gesture recognition software to provide an input to an electronic eyewear device.

VEHICLE OCCUPANT MONITORING SYSTEM INCLUDING AN IMAGE ACQUISITION DEVICE WITH A ROLLING SHUTTER IMAGE SENSOR
A vehicle occupant monitoring system, OMS, comprises an image acquisition device with a rolling shutter image sensor comprising an array of sub-pixels which are respectively selectively sensitive to: red and infra-red; blue and infra-red; and green and infra-red light. The device is configured to selectively operate in either: a colour mode where a multi-plane image frame corresponding to the full image sensor is provided, each plane derived from red, green or blue sensitive sub-pixels respectively; or a monochrome mode, where sensor information from sub-pixels is aggregated to provide a single image plane.

A vehicle occupant monitoring system, OMS, comprises an image acquisition device with a rolling shutter image sensor configured to selectively operate in either: a full-resolution image mode where an image frame corresponding to the full image sensor is provided; or a region of interest, ROI, mode, where an image frame corresponding to a limited portion of the image sensor is provided. An object detector is configured to receive a full-resolution image from the image sensor and to identify a ROI corresponding to an object of interest within the image. A controller is configured to obtain an image corresponding to the ROI from the image sensor operating in ROI mode, the image having an exposure time long enough for all rows of the ROI to be illuminated by a common pulse of light from at least one infra-red light source and short enough to limit motion blur within the image.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device includes a display panel including a base layer, and an element layer disposed on the base layer, the element layer including pixels outputting a first light, and light receiving sensors, an input device providing a second light to the display panel, and a control module controlling operations of the display panel and the input device. The light receiving sensors detect the second light provided from the input device and generate a detection signal. The control module calculates biometric information of a user based on the detection signal.

The averaging capacitor has an averaging capacitance greater than the integration capacitance of the integration capacitor. In some aspects, the integrated circuit further includes at least one cascaded averaging circuit coupled with the averaging capacitor.
IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, LIVING-BODY OBSERVATION DEVICE, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
For the purpose of allowing fat to be stably distinguished irrespective of individual differences, so as to prevent damage to nerves that surround a target organ, an image processing device includes: a fat-image-region extracting unit that extracts a fat-image region that indicates a region, in a living-tissue image, where fat exists; a fat-color-component detecting unit that detects a fat-color-component amount that determines the color of fat, from the fat-image region extracted by the fat-image-region extracting unit; and a correction unit that corrects the signal intensity of the fat-image region extracted by the fat-image-region extracting unit on the basis of the fat-color-component amount detected by the fat-color-component detecting unit.
