METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING SMOKE
A method, an apparatus, and a device for determining smoke, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided. The method includes: obtaining a video image of a photographed region by using a camera apparatus, where the photographed region is irradiated by a laser with a predetermined wave band emitted by a laser unit, and the camera apparatus is configured with a filter allowing the laser with the predetermined wave band to pass through; determining, based on a plurality of frames of images in the video image, a motion region in the plurality of frames of images; and determining whether the photographed region includes smoke based on a feature of the motion region.
DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MOTOR VEHICLE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
A detection system that includes: an image capture apparatus configured to capture images of a scene located in the passenger compartment and a projection system configured to project structured light on the scene. The projection system has at least one projection device, each projection device being separate from the image capture apparatus so as to be mounted in the passenger compartment while being offset relative to the image capture apparatus. Each projection device is configured to project at least one structured light pattern. The detection system further includes an electronic control unit configured to analyze images captured using the image capture apparatus during the projection of one or several structured light pattern(s).
Multizone illumination for optical face identification
An optical sensor module for sensing a face of a person for user identification and authentication, where a face illumination module is provided to use an array of face illumination light sources arranged in a regular array pattern to produce illumination light which may be invisible light such as infrared light and an optical diffraction element that is located to receive illumination light beams from the face illumination light sources and to transfer each illumination light beam from each face illumination light source in the array into a patterned light beam containing illumination light spots.
OCCUPANT MONITORING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
An occupant monitoring device for a vehicle includes a display, a controller, and an imager. The display is configured to display an operation screen for an occupant in the vehicle. The controller is configured to execute control based on an operation type determined as an operation performed by the occupant on the operation screen of the display. The imager is configured to image the occupant in the vehicle. The controller is configured to avoid executing the control based on the determined operation type in a case where the operation type performed by the occupant at least involves movement toward the imager.
PATTERN IDENTIFICATION DEVICE AND DISPLAY APPARATUS
A device for identifying a pattern over a first surface includes a photosensitive layer, and a light-guiding layer disposed between the photosensitive layer and the first surface. The photosensitive layer includes a plurality of photosensitive elements, each configured to convert incident light into an electrical signal. The light-guiding layer includes a plurality of light-guiding units, each positionally corresponding to one of the plurality of photosensitive elements. Each light-guiding unit include a plurality of light-transmitting portions, each configured to guide a light beam reflected from a feature of the pattern positionally corresponding thereto to transmit therethrough and reach one of the plurality of photosensitive elements corresponding to the each of the plurality of light-guiding units. The device can be used for identification of fingerprint, as well as other biometric or non-biometric features, and has a reduced thickness and an improved accuracy for pattern identification.
Fabrication system for key making machine
A fabrication system is disclosed for use in a key making machine. The fabrication system may have a housing with a slot configured to receive a key blank, and a receiving unit configured to accept a shank of the key blank at the slot. The receiving unit may be configured to mechanically align the shank as it is inserted by a user. The fabrication system may also have a clamp movable between an open position and a closed position, and an actuator. The actuator may be configured to move the receiving unit and the key blank to the clamp, and to move the receiving unit away from the key blank after the clamp has moved to the closed position.

Optical overlay device
Devices and methods for visibly highlighting areas of a region including an imager configured to image the region with a sensitivity to at least one of wavelength, light level, or contrast greater than the human eye, an overlay element configured to visibly highlight areas of the region and registered to the imager to produce alignment of imaged features with highlighted features at the same location on the region, and at least one of a controller executing a program or logic configured to process acquired images from the imager to identify areas of the region determined not visible to the human eye, and control the overlay element to visibly highlight those areas on the region.

Fast bacteria detection and antibiotic susceptibility test by precision tracking of bacterial cells
A system for identification of bacterial cells in free solution in a sample. A sample handler is adapted to position the sample. A light source illuminates a large volume of the sample. An imager is located to receive light scattered from the sample. A computer it is coupled to receive data transmitted from the imager. A controller is coupled to send control signals to the sample handler and the computer. The imager processes the scattered light to form images of the bacteria and transmits bacteria image information to the computer, wherein the bacteria image information includes intensity values and position data for the bacteria images from which the computer determines the presence of bacteria.
