DETECTION OF STRUCTURED LIGHT FOR DEPTH SENSING
In one embodiment, a computing system may access a first image and a second image of at least a common portion of an environment while a light emission with a predetermined emission pattern is projected by a projector. The first and second images are respectively captured by a first and a second detector that are respectively separated from the projector by a first and a second distance. The system may determine that a first portion of the first image corresponds to a second portion of the second image. The system may compute, using triangulation, a first depth value associated with the first portion and a second depth value associated with the second portion. The system may determine that the first and second depth values match in accordance with one or more predetermined criteria, and generate a depth map of the environment based on at least one of the depth values.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING A HEADSHOT
A method for generating a headshot can include (i) arranging a diffuse light system by positing a first light source to emit light toward a scattering layer including a white surface such that the emitted light reflects diffusely off of the scattering layer, (ii) positioning a background layer made of translucent material such that diffuse light from the diffuse light system at least partially transmits through the background layer, wherein the background layer has disposed thereon a bokeh background image, and wherein the bokeh background image is illuminated by the diffuse light, (iii) arranging a subject lighting system to illuminate a subject positioned proximate to the background layer, and (iv) capturing a photograph of at least a portion of the subject and the bokeh background image with a camera.
Identification module for key making machine
An identification module is disclosed for use in a key making machine. The identification module may have a key receiving assembly configured to receive only a shank of an existing key. The identification module may also have a tip guide, configured to receive a tip of the shank of the existing key. The tip guide may have a slot that exposes a tip end of the shank. The identification module may also have an imaging assembly configured to capture an image of the tip end through the slot.
Optical overlay device
Devices and methods for visibly highlighting areas of a region including an imager configured to image the region with a sensitivity to at least one of wavelength, light level, or contrast greater than the human eye, an overlay element configured to visibly highlight areas of the region and registered to the imager to produce alignment of imaged features with highlighted features at the same location on the region, and at least one of a controller executing a program or logic configured to process acquired images from the imager to identify areas of the region determined not visible to the human eye, and control the overlay element to visibly highlight those areas on the region.
Display system and information processing method
A display system includes: a video display apparatus; and a mobile terminal that communicate with each other. The video display apparatus includes: a measurement pattern generator that generates a plurality of measurement patterns; a projection unit that projects the measurement patterns; a first transceiver that communicates with the mobile terminal to receive information regarding distortion correction of video; and a distortion corrector that corrects the distortion. The mobile terminal includes: a camera unit that photographs the projected measurement patterns; a controller that generates the distortion correction information based on the photographed measurement patterns; and a second transceiver that communicates with the first transceiver to transmit the distortion correction information to the video display apparatus. The measurement pattern generator adds a common pattern to each measurement pattern, which indicates a reference position of each of the measurement patterns. The controller generates the distortion correction information based on the common pattern.
Vehicle lamp and vehicle lamp control system
A vehicle lamp includes a laser light source that is able to emit laser light and emits laser light generated by the laser light source forward from an emission end, and an optical mechanism that performs scanning with the laser light and depicts a figure in an irradiation destination.
PATH SENSING USING STRUCTURED LIGHTING
A structured light pattern is projected onto the path of a vehicle so as to generate a plurality of light spots, and an image thereof is captured from the vehicle. A world-space elevation of at least a portion of the light spots is responsive to a pitch angle of the vehicle determined responsive to image-space locations of down-range-separated light spots.
BIOMETRIC SYSTEM
Some embodiments are directed to a biometric authentication system including headwear having a plurality of biosensors each configured to sample muscle activity so as to obtain a respective time-varying signal, a data store for storing a data set representing characteristic muscle activity for one or more users, and a processor configured to process the time-varying signals from the biosensors in dependence on the stored data set so as to determine a correspondence between a time-varying signal and characteristic muscle activity of one of the one or more users, and in dependence on the determined correspondence, authenticate the time-varying signals as being associated with that user.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
[Object] It is desirable to provide a technology by which a region in which an object is present can be accurately extracted with a simpler configuration. [Solving Means] Provided is an information processing apparatus including one or more processors that calculate a degree of polarization on the basis of polarization information in each of multiple directions, which is detected from a target region including a region through which polarized light passes, and extract a region in which an object is present on the basis of the degree of polarization.
Electronic apparatus, method of controlling electronic apparatus, and program
In an electronic apparatus that captures images, characters in an image are accurately recognized. The electronic apparatus includes an imaging section, a distance measurement section, a shape estimation section, and a coordinate conversion section. The imaging section images an object and captures image data. The distance measurement section measures distances from the imaging section to a plurality of measurement points on a surface of the object. The shape estimation section estimates a shape of the object from the measured distances. The coordinate conversion section performs coordinate conversion on the image data, the coordinate conversion including converting three-dimensional coordinates on the surface of the object into plane coordinates on a predetermined reference plane on the basis of the estimated shape.
