ARRIVAL DETECTION FOR BATTERY-POWERED OPTICAL SENSORS
A method including, accessing an occupancy of the workspace. The method also includes, in response to the occupancy status indicating vacancy: at a first time, recording a first image and a second image of the workspace, the first image and the second image characterized by a first resolution; and executing an arrival detection model based on the first and second image. The method further includes, in response to detecting arrival at the workspace: at a third time, recording a third image of the workspace, the third image characterized by a second resolution greater than the first resolution; and executing an occupancy detection model based on the third image. The method additionally includes, in response to detecting occupancy of the workspace: updating the occupancy status to indicate occupancy; and transmitting the occupancy status to a remote scheduling system.
IMAGE SYNTHESIZING METHOD
An image synthesizing method includes capturing a first image using a reference small aperture size; capturing a second image using a reference large aperture size; obtaining one or more reference color weights according to a corresponding pixel of the first image and adjacent pixels of the corresponding pixel of the first image and a corresponding pixel of the second image; obtaining an associated distance by looking up an association table according to the one or more reference color weights; obtaining one or more associated color weights by looking up the association table according to the associated distance and an expected aperture; and obtaining a color value of a corresponding pixel of a synthesized image, by applying weighting to the corresponding pixel of the first image and the adjacent pixels of the corresponding pixel of the first image with the one or more associated color weights.
Systems and methods for visual verification
A system comprising: a document holder; an image sensor directed toward the document holder; a polarized filter between the image sensor and the document holder; a filter motor configured to rotate the polarized filter; one or more processors; and at least one memory having stored thereon computer program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, instructs the one or more processors to: control the filter motor to rotate the polarized filter; control the image sensors to capture a plurality of images of a document within the document holder, the plurality of images corresponding to a respective relative orientations of the polarized filter to the document; identify a feature of the document; and output, in response comparing respective visual characteristics of the feature of the document to corresponding expected visual characteristics of the first feature for the document, an indication of a verification of the document.
INTELLIGENT ITEM RECEPTACLE
An intelligent item receptacle, system, and method for providing supplemental media content in response to depositing an item having media indicia disposed thereon. An intelligent item receptacle includes an item receptacle securely enclosing an interior volume, an item sensor configured to detect an inserted item, a camera within the interior volume configured to capture an image of the item, and an output configured to play audio or visual content to bystanders outside the item receptacle. Processing circuitry within the item receptacle analyzes the image to determine if the media indicia are present on the item and, if present, causes the output to play the audio or visual content associated with the media indicia.
Vehicular control system with road curvature determination
A vehicular control system includes a forward viewing camera disposed at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle. Road curvature of a road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined responsive at least in part to processing of image data captured by the camera. Responsive at least in part to processing of captured image data, speed of the vehicle is controlled by an adaptive cruise control system of the vehicle. Upon approach of the vehicle to a curve in the road along which the vehicle is traveling, speed of the vehicle is reduced by the adaptive cruise control system to a reduced speed for traveling around the curve in the road. Speed of the vehicle is increased by the adaptive cruise control system when the vehicle is traveling along a straighter section of road after the curve in the road.
