PATTERN MATCHING
A method and apparatus for verifying a pattern by mapping a grid onto a template that defines a plurality of grid sections. A digital image may be taken of a container showing an identifying mark (or lack thereof). The template and/or grid may be scaled and/or translated to match a perspective of the identifying mark as depicted in the digital image. A correlation function compares individual grid sections to portions of the digital image to find portions that maximize a correlation score. Grid sections with low contrast may be skipped and/or combined with higher-contrast sections to compute a score. If a match condition is satisfied between at least some of the grid sections and the digital image of the identifying mark, the pattern has been verified.
Method for adapting a mesh model of a geological subsurface
The present invention concerns a method for adapting a mesh model to make it match a target. The model comprises a plurality of reference interfaces, each reference interface being associated with a target interface in the target. The method comprises, for at least one pair of successive interfaces, defining four intersections between a current alignment and the reference interfaces or the associated target interfaces, and modifying the coordinates for each current corner of the alignment on the basis of the initial coordinates of the current corner, and the four defined intersections, the modified coordinates of the current corner being on the current alignment.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND DEVICE OF GENERATING A REDUCED-SIZE VOLUMETRIC DATASET
Device, system, and method of generating a reduced-size volumetric dataset. A method includes receiving a plurality of three-dimensional volumetric datasets that correspond to a particular object; and generating, from that plurality of three-dimensional volumetric datasets, a single uniform mesh dataset that corresponds to that particular object. The size of that single uniform mesh dataset is less than ? of the aggregate size of the plurality of three-dimensional volumetric datasets. The resulting uniform mesh is temporally coherent, and can be used for animating that object, as well as for introducing modifications to that object or to clothing or garments worn by that object.
Virtualization of Tangible Interface Objects
An example system includes a stand configured to position a computing device proximate to a physical activity surface. The system further includes a video capture device, a detector, and an activity application. The video capture device is coupled for communication with the computing device and is adapted to capture a video stream that includes an activity scene of the physical activity surface and one or more interface objects physically interactable with by a user. The detector is executable to detect motion in the activity scene based on the processing and, responsive to detecting the motion, process the video stream to detect one or more interface objects included in the activity scene of the physical activity surface. The activity application is executable to present virtual information on a display of the computing device based on the one or more detected interface objects.
Passenger vehicle make and model recognition system
A system, a method, and a non-transitory computer readable recording medium for recognizing a passenger vehicle make and model are disclosed, which includes a make and model recognition (MMR) database, which is constructed from rear view videos of passenger vehicles.
System for detecting lane line of road and method thereof
A system for detecting a lane line of a road and a method thereof is disclosed. An image-retrieving device retrieves an image in front of a vehicle to generate a picture, and transmits the picture to a processing device. The processing device transforms one or two lane lines on the picture into a plurality of characteristic values, processes the characteristic values to generate one or two prediction lane lines, and uses them to dynamically predict and complete the lane lines, thereby forming a lane line prediction model. The processing device uses the lane line prediction model to determine whether the vehicle deviates, and transmits the picture and the lane line prediction model to a display device to display. When the vehicle deviates, the display device warns. The present invention can improve to recognize an unclear lane line, a single lane line and a far lane line.
System and method for detecting defects in an image
An image system for detecting defects in an image may include a processing device to detect defects in a target image by analyzing the activity level in a reference and the target image. The system may identify a quiet area/pixel in the reference image based on the activity level, check the activity level of the corresponding pixel in the target image, and classify the pixel in the target image as defective if the activity level of the pixel in the target image exceeds a noise threshold. The system may additionally swap the reference and target image, repeat the detection steps and combine the detection results with those before the swap. The system may also include an image sensor to scan a printed document of the reference image into a scanned electronic document (the target image).
System and method for defect detection in a print system
A system for detecting defects in a print system may include a print engine to print an electronic document (a reference image) and yield a printed document. The system may also include an image sensor to scan the printed document into a scanned electronic document (a target image). The system may include a processing device to detect defects in the printed document by analyzing the activity level in the reference and target image.
Dental method of smile design
A patient's smile is improved by photoimaging the patient's smile and scanning the patient's anterior teeth and associated soft lip structure to obtain sets of data mapping the patient's anterior teeth and associated soft tissue structure. The photo image is used to create a desired smile image which is then used to amend the data map of anterior teeth to a substantially identical resultant image which is then used to mill temporary and permanent prosthesis.
IMAGE ANALYSIS ALGORITHMS USING CONTROL SLIDES
Systems and methods for automatically excluding artifacts from an analysis of a biological specimen image are disclosed. An exemplary method includes obtaining an immunohistochemistry (IHC) image and a control image, determining whether the control image includes one or more artifacts, upon a determination that the control image includes one or more artifacts, identifying one or more artifact regions within the IHC image by mapping the one or more artifacts from the control image to the IHC image, and performing image analysis of the IHC image where any identified artifact regions are excluded from the image analysis.
