Apparatus and system for lifting, moving, turning, and positioning a patient
A patient support device includes a sheet configured to be placed beneath the patient in use and a plurality of straps connected to the sheet and configured for use in moving, lifting, turning, and/or positioning the patient. The straps may include one or more retractable straps that each have a stretchable retraction strap connected thereto and configured for retracting the retractable strap. The straps may also include one or more central support straps connected to the sheet in an area positioned between the legs of the patient. The sheet may also include a head support for supporting the patient's head, which head support may also include one or more straps. The straps may be connected to a hoist, which is then used to lift the patient.
Patient support arrangement
A patient support arrangement includes features that reduce pressure points and chafing. Chafing is reduced by using a mattress topper including first and second low friction sheets adjacent to each other and secured relative to a cushion, so that when the patient shifts relative to the cushion, the shifting is more likely to be borne between the first and second low friction sheets than between the patient and the mattress topper.
Mattress Air Supply
An air supply supplies air to multiple different inflatable devices. The air supply includes an air compressing device, and at least two pressure valves. The air supply operates to introduce air from the first pressure valve to a first inflatable device at a first pressure that is within a first air pressure range. The air supply also operates to introduce air, on demand, from the second pressure valve to a second inflatable device at a second pressure within a second air pressure range while continuing to supply air to the first inflatable device at a pressure within the first air pressure range. The second pressure and/or the second pressure range is different from the first pressure and/or the first pressure range.
PATIENT/INVALID HANDLING SUPPORT
A patient support for supporting a patient includes an inflatable mattress defining a support surface and a pneumatic system for inflating the inflatable mattress. The pneumatic system includes a pressurized reservoir for holding pressurized air and selectively releases pressurized air from the reservoir to the mattress.
Systems and methods for positioning a patient in a bed
A system for repositioning a patient in a bed includes an overlay that is positioned between the patient and the bed mattress. The overlay is wound around a roller that rotates to pull the overlay and the patient to a more upright position on the bed after the patient has slid down the bed. The roller is rotated either manually by a crank or automatically by a motor that is operable using a switch and/or a plurality of sensors.
Mattress with sensor module for patient care
A mattress for patient care. The mattress includes a number of compressible cells and a number of sensors corresponding to the number of compressible cells. Each compressible cell is configured to contact, when inflated, a user in a contact area of a plurality of contact areas of the user. Each sensor is configured to generate a number of measurements, wherein each measurement relates to the contact area of a corresponding compressible cell. Each sensor is further configured to send the number of measurements to a pressure control device.
Pump apparatus and associated system and method
A pumping apparatus includes a pump configured for moving air, a housing supporting and at least partially containing the pump, and an air output that includes a hose having a first end connected to the housing and in communication with the pump, such that the pump is configured to move air through the hose, and a second end configured for allowing air to exit the hose, wherein the hose has a length defined between the first and second ends. A switch is mounted on the hose and located along the length of the hose, and the switch is configured for controlling operation of the pump. The switch is located a distance from the second end of the hose that is less than 50% of the length of the hose.
Pump apparatus and associated system and method
A pumping apparatus includes a pump configured for moving air, a housing supporting the pump, and an air output in communication with the pump. The apparatus further includes a power cord connected to the pump for providing electrical power to the pump and a standing base on a first end of the housing configured to support the pump apparatus in a standing configuration. The standing base includes a base mount configured for receiving and supporting at least a portion of the power cord wrapped around the base mount.
PUMP APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system includes a pump having a filter. The filter includes a HEPA material configured for filtering air and the pump used to inflate an inflatable device configured to support a patient. A kit includes a pump configured for moving air to inflate an inflatable device, and a removable filter including a HEPA material couplable to the pump and configured to filter the air to inflate the inflatable device. The inflatable device configured to support a patient on a supporting surface.
