A remote parking system performs remote parking in which a vehicle is moved from a current position and parked by remote parking. In the remote parking system, a remote controller can be carried outside the vehicle, issues an instruction for remote parking by being operated by an operator, and includes a display screen that displays a state of remote parking. An imaging apparatus captures a peripheral image of the vehicle. A control unit inputs imaging data from the imaging apparatus, and includes an image generating unit that generates an image to be displayed on the display screen based on the imaging data. The image generating unit generates, as a remote parking image, an image in a direction along a line of sight in which a vehicle direction is viewed from the operator. The image includes a blind spot position positioned on a side opposite the operator relative to the vehicle.
SELF-LOCALIZATION OF A VEHICLE BASED ON AN INITIAL POSE
According to a method for self-localization, a vehicle is detected by a vehicle-external sensor system of a parking infrastructure when it is located in a detection region of the vehicle-external sensor system. By way of a vehicle-external communication interface of the parking infrastructure, position information regarding the detection region is relayed in dependence on the detection of the vehicle to at least one vehicle computer unit and an initial pose of the vehicle is determined by the at least one vehicle computer unit in dependence on the position information.

A method of generating a context-rich parking event of a target vehicle taken by a patrol vehicle; including obtaining a plate read event identifying an identifier of the target vehicle; initiating a collection of a first context image of a first view of the target vehicle; obtaining of geolocation information; obtaining temporal information; verifying if at least one condition is met by calculating if at least one of: a temporal constraint threshold is reached by using the temporal information; and a position constraint threshold is reached by using the geolocation information; initiating a collection by the patrol vehicle of a second context image of a second view of the target vehicle; and causing an association between the second context image and the plate read event to generate the context-rich parking event.

An aspect of the present disclosure provides a method, performed by an apparatus of a host vehicle, for recognizing a parking space, the method including: recognizing another vehicle and a pillar based on data acquired from a light detection and ranging (lidar) device; recognizing a parking slot marking based on an image captured by a camera; and generating a map of an indoor parking lot based on information on the another vehicle, the pillar, and the parking slot marking.
Parking assist system
A parking assist system includes a control device. The control device continues an automatic parking process as a driver releases an operation on a brake pedal in a case where an obstacle is detected in a suspension area and an operation amount of the brake pedal has been equal to or more than a second threshold. The control device causes a brake device to stop a vehicle with a second brake force and suspends the automatic parking process in a case where the obstacle is detected in the suspension area and the operation amount of the brake pedal is less than the second threshold. The control device causes the brake device to stop the vehicle and cancels the automatic parking process in a case where the obstacle is detected in a cancellation area and the operation amount of the brake pedal is less than a first threshold.
Automatic parking system and automatic parking method
An automatic parking system is provided. The automatic parking system includes a camera processor that acquires images around a subject vehicle, converts the acquired images into external images and synthesizes the external images. A sensor processor measured spaced distances between the subject vehicle and surrounding vehicles. A parking space recognizing unit periodically receives the spaced distances and the external images and comparing the consecutive external images with the spaced distances using an image recognition technology to recognize parking areas. A controller calculates a moving path between a current position of the subject vehicle and an optimal parking area and operates the subject vehicle based on the moving path.

One aspect of the invention relates to a method for signaling information to the operator of the remote control for a parking assistance system which can be controlled by remote control from outside of a motor vehicle for automatically parking the motor vehicle into a parking space. The method includes detecting surroundings information with respect to the vehicle surroundings on the motor vehicle side using a surrounding sensor system of the motor vehicle. The parking assistance system in the motor vehicle detects a parking space on the basis of the surroundings information, and information on the detection of a parking space is transmitted from the motor vehicle to the remote control via a wireless communication connection. On the basis of the received information, the remote control signals the presence of the detected parking space to the operator.

An automatic parking method includes: acquiring a panoramic image near a vehicle, and recognizing a parking space line in the panoramic image; determining whether a parking space exists near the vehicle according to a recognition result; in response to the recognition result indicating that no parking space exists near the vehicle, generating a virtual parking space; and controlling the vehicle to park automatically according to the virtual parking space.
