Computer-implemented segmented numeral character recognition and reader
Computer-implemented methods, systems and devices having segmented numeral character recognition. In an embodiment, users may take digital pictures of a seven-segment display on a sensor device. For example, a user at a remote location may use a digital camera to capture a digital image of a seven-segment display on a sensor device. Captured images of a seven-segment display may then be sent or uploaded over a network to a remote health management system. The health care management system includes a reader that processes the received images to determine sensor readings representative of the values output on the seven-segment displays of the remote sensor devices. Machine learning and OCR are used to identify numeric characters in images associated with seven-segment displays. In this way, a remote heath management system can obtain sensor readings from remote locations when users only have access to sensor devices with seven-segment displays.
Reading system, reading device, reading method, and storage medium
According to one embodiment, a reading system includes an extractor, a determiner, and a reader. The extractor extracts a candidate image from an input image. The candidate image is a candidate of a portion of the input image in which a segment display is imaged. The determiner uses the candidate image and a mask to calculate a match ratio indicating a certainty of a segment display being included in the candidate image, and determines that the candidate image is an image of a segment display when the match ratio is not less than a threshold. The mask and the threshold are preset. The reader reads a numerical value displayed in a segment display from the candidate image determined to be an image of a segment display.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to extract from one or more electronic documents viewed before by a user a region of interest on which the user focuses attention and create a thumbnail of an electronic document to be viewed by the user in accordance with the region of interest by extracting an image corresponding to the region of interest from the electronic document.
Method and apparatus for OCR detection of valuable documents by means of a matrix camera
The invention relates to a method for OCR detection of valuable documents in a cash dispenser in the case of which an image of the valuable document is detected by means of a digital video or matrix camera. A Hough transformation is used to calculate edge lines of the valuable document and a rotation angle is calculated therefrom such that the edges of the valuable document are aligned with the image edges. The detected image is homogenized to compensate an inhomogeneous image background. This is followed by OCR detection of alphanumeric information on the valuable document.
Print information processing system detecting cassette by analyzing image and determining whether detected cassette satisfies specific condition
A print information processing system includes a terminal device, and a server. The terminal controller controls an image capturing device to capture an image representing at least part of a cassette and acquiring the captured image. The cassette accommodates print medium therein. A server storage stores information concerning a specific content including at least one of print data and information available for editing the print data. The system performs a detection process detecting the cassette by analyzing the captured image and a determination process determining whether the detected cassette satisfies a specific condition. The server controller performs an information transmission process transmitting the information concerning the specific content to the terminal device in a case where the determination process determines that the detected cassette satisfies the specific condition. The information transmission process is not performed in a case where the detected cassette does not satisfy the specific condition.
Information processing apparatus for character recognition and non-transitory computer readable medium
An information processing apparatus includes a character recognition unit that performs a character recognition process to recognize a character included in an image, and a partitioning unit that partitions a specific region if a character string recognized through the character recognition process performed by the character recognition unit on a specific region included in the image includes a character or a character string, each of which satisfies a predetermined condition.
System and method for archiving documents
A device for digitizing papers, including a controller having a processor and memory, a digitizing scanner configured to accept a paper, digitize content of the paper and transfer the digitized content to the controller, a program executed by the controller that is configured to identify calibration markings or unique fingerprints from specific locations of the paper, embedded in the digitized content, wherein the program provides a determination that the digitizing scanner is functioning correctly if the calibration markings or unique fingerprint are identified as being correct or by identifying a type of paper digitized from characteristics of the unique fingerprint.
OBJECT DETECTION AND IMAGE CROPPING USING A MULTI-DETECTOR APPROACH
Systems, methods and computer program products for detecting objects using a multi-detector are disclosed, according to various embodiments. In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes defining an analysis profile comprising an initial number of analysis cycles dedicated to each of a plurality of detectors, where each detector is independently configured to detect objects according to a unique set of analysis parameters and/or a unique detector algorithm. The method also includes: receiving digital video data that depicts at least one object; analyzing the digital video data using some or all of the detectors in accordance with the analysis profile, where the analyzing produces an analysis result for each detector used in the analysis. Further, the method includes updating the analysis profile by adjusting the number of analysis cycles dedicated to at least one of the detectors based on the analysis results.
Method and system for extracting information from document images
A system and method to extract data from regions of interest on a document is disclosed. A storage device stores an image derived from a document having text information. A region of interest identification engine scans the image and identifies at least one region of interest on the image. An optical character recognition module is operable to convert image data in the region of interest to machine readable data. A classification engine classifies the data obtained by the optical character recognition module from the region of interest.
METHOD, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM, AND APPARATUS FOR SEARCHING AN IMAGE DATABASE
A method for searching an image database, comprising receiving an adulterated image of an object, the adulterated image including object annotations for visual reference, applying a first neural network to the adulterated image, correlating a result of the applying the first neural network with each image of a reference database of images, the result including an edited image of the object and each image of the reference database of images including a reference object, and selecting, as a matching image, at least one image of the reference database of images having correlation values above a threshold correlation value. The method may include applying a masking to the adulterated image. The masking may include performing, via a second neural network, object recognition on the adulterated image, applying, based on the object recognition, computer vision to detect callout features relative to bounding boxes, and generating a contour mask of the object.
