System, method and apparatus to prevent and treat a disease by optimization of sleep posture and assisted rollovers
A body support system, method and apparatus is described, for preventing and treating a disease or injury by optimization of sleep posture and assisted rollovers. A body support device comprises two or more extendable, retractable support walls, for supporting various parts of a user as a cradle of the body support device is rotated into various positions.
Pillow system
A pillow system for use by a user laying on their back, such as for use after a mastectomy or other surgery. The pillow system provides a cushioning and supportive system. In one particular implementation, the pillow system has two elongate side pillows for placing under and extending from at least a user's shoulders to the user's knees. The two side pillows have an inner edge that includes two concave regions, thus when the two pillows are placed next to or alongside each other, two generally void areas are formed. The pillow system may include a head pillow and/or a support pillow(s), such as a wedge-shaped pillow.
Posture Correcting Traction Sleeping Pillow
A traction pillow for creating gravity induced traction across the upper anterior region of the torso to stretch the muscles residing in that region. Tightening muscles caused by unhealthy posture and sleeping habits can cause musculoskeletal system imbalances, which can lead to chronic pain and or degenerative disease. Imbalances across the upper torso region can further cause rounded shoulders. An underpinning underlay orients a torso support and a neck and head support along an inclined plane to properly align the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spines of a supine resting body and to gradually elevate the torso, neck, and head above a horizontal resting surface to enable the outer extremities of the upper torso, not supported by the torso support, to be pulled downward by the force of gravity and droop unobstructed above the horizontal resting surface. The torso is generally of a higher weight in comparison to the combined weight of the head and neck. Therefore, the mechanical properties - i.e., bulk moduli - of the materials used to construct the torso support, the neck and head support, and the underpinning underlay are independently formulated to provide appropriate levels of individual firmness, and to enable the torso support and the neck and head support to volumetrically compress in lockstep to maintain spinal alignment throughout compression.
THERAPEUTIC CUSHION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Apparatus and methods for providing therapeutic treatment for symptoms associated with GERD and/or other digestive disorders and/or other medical conditions are described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a support element that has a first end portion and a second end portion and a top surface disposed at an angle relative to a bottom surface of the support element. The second end portion has a height greater than the first end portion. A riser element is configured to be coupled proximate to the second end portion of the support element. A body element is configured to be disposed on at least one of the support element or the riser element. The body element has a first arm and a second arm connected together by an arc portion.

ELECTRIC BED WITH LUMBAR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
An electric bed includes a bed board assembly movably disposed on a bed frame and having a through hole, a lumbar support member movably disposed on the bed board assembly and corresponding in position to the through hole, and a plurality of linkage units each including a drive rod assembly. The drive rod assemblies of the linking units are pivotally connected to a horizontal rod of a lumbar support drive assembly. The lumbar support drive assembly is electrically actuated to drive the horizontal rod to move the drive rod assemblies between first and second positions, in which the lumbar support member is moved toward and away from the through hole, respectively.

BODY LIFTING DEVICE FOR BEDS
A body lifting device for a bed is provided with a support unit, having a predetermined height, connected to a fixing part of a bed. A movable bed part adjusts an angle between the fixing and movable parts. A driving force transfer member of the device is connected to the movable part at one end, the other end extending toward the fixing part, and has a support point therebetween supported by the support unit. A length between the support point and the other end varies depending on an angle adjustment of the movable part. A lifting unit of the device supports a portion of a user's body, and is connected to the other end of the driving force transfer member. The lifting unit selectively lifts up the user's body depending on movement of the driving force transfer member, which is caused by adjusting an angle of the movable part.

ADJUSTABLE FOUNDATION AND MATTRESS ASSEMBLY
A coil spring mattress and adjustable foundation assembly includes a coil spring mattress; and an adjustable foundation including a mattress support surface including a head and back section hingedly connected to an intermediate section at one end and a leg and foot section hingedly connected to the intermediate section at another end, wherein the intermediate section includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is hingedly connected to the head and back section and the second portion is hingedly connected to the leg and foot section. The intermediate or seat section is configured to increase in length upon articulation of the head and back section and/or the leg and foot section from a flat position or an increase in inclination of any section. Likewise, the intermediate or seat section is configured to decrease in length upon articulation of the head and back section and/or the leg and foot section from an inclined position to a flat position or a decrease in length upon declination of any section.
