LEG SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
A leg support assembly includes a lower frame including a pair of arms orientated parallel to each other. A pad is attached to the arms. An upper frame has an open end and an open central area. The open end is directed towards the pad. A plane of the upper frame is orientated parallel to a plane of the lower frame. A flexible material is attached to the upper frame and extends across the open central area. The flexible material supports an elevated leg of a person. A plurality of supports is attached to and extends between the upper and lower frames and retains the upper frame vertically above the lower frame. The plurality of supports is hingedly coupled to the lower and upper frames to allow lowering or raising of the upper frame relative to the lower frame.
PATIENT SUPPORT DEVICE AND RELATED METHOD OF USE
A device and related method for supporting a patient in an upright, seated position during a treatment, for example, during a physical therapy session is provided. The support device can include a base frame, a support arm, a center bolster and a back support pivotally joined with the base frame and/or the center bolster so that the center bolster is supported in an upright position by the base frame. The base frame can be configured to secure to a support structure thereby preventing the device from sliding across a surface of a support bed on which a patient is disposed. Lateral bolsters can be joined with the center bolster and/or base frame to laterally stabilize the patient. The device can be void of a seat bottom disposed under the patient. The related method can include steps of using the device.
Portable body positioning bed frame assembly
A portable body positioning bed frame assembly having a first frame support reversibly attached to a second frame support. The first frame support has a back frame attached rotatably thereto and the second frame support has a thigh frame attached rotatably thereto, with a linear actuator attached between the second frame support and the thigh frame. A calf frame is attached rotatably to the thigh frame. The linear actuator raises and lowers the thigh frame and the calf frame. The calf frame is hinged to the thigh frame to maintain the calf frame approximately parallel to the second frame support as the thigh frame and calf frame are raised and lowered by the linear actuator. The back frame has a support bar for raising and lowering the back frame and adjustable curvilinear back supports for an adjustable convexity in the back of a user that will maintain the shoulders in an anterior position.
BED AND BED INSERT WITH POSTURAL SUPPORT
The invention provides a bed capable of providing postural support to a user, the bed comprising: a headrest (10) having an adjustable height; a backrest (12) having an adjustable angle (a)of inclination to incline the user's back; and a shoulder and arm rest (11) positioned between the headrest and the backrest; wherein the headrest (10), backrest (12) and the shoulder and arm rest (11) are configurable to form a channel (14) extending between and separating the headrest (10 and the backrest (12) when the headrest (10) and backrest (12) are adjusted in elevated positions, and configurable to form a substantially even sleeping surface of the backrest (12) and shoulder and arm rest (11) without forming the channel (14) when the backrest (12) is adjusted to a flat angle of inclination. The invention also provides an insert capable of being inserted into an outer bed frame in the construction of the bed, and a kit for construction of the bed.
Therapeutic cushion systems and methods
Apparatus and methods for providing therapeutic treatment for symptoms associated with GERD and/or other digestive disorders and/or other medical conditions are described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a support element and a conformable riser element adjacent the support element. The riser element and the support element collectively form a body support member configured to support a user and define a receiving portion configured to receive a portion of the user's arm. The riser element and the support element are each disposed within a casing formed at least in part with a stretch material. In some embodiments, the riser element includes a polyester filler material and the stretch material includes a four-way stretch material. The four-way stretch material in combination with the polyester filler material enables the riser element to be conformable.

Hospital bed
A hospital bed includes a frame, a backrest unit, a driving unit, a leg support unit and a linkage unit. The frame includes posts supported on a floor. The backrest unit is pivotally connected to the frame. The leg support unit includes a portion pivotally connected to the frame and another portion pivotally connected to the backrest unit. The leg support unit is located opposite to the backrest unit on the frame. The driving unit includes a portion connected to the frame and another portion pivotally connected to the backrest unit. The linkage unit connects the leg support unit to the backrest unit.
Patient Compliance Monitoring System
A patient compliance monitoring system is provided for monitoring patient compliance in the use of a plurality of patient care and recovery devices in the hospital room. Sensors are associated with each of the devices to detect a usage history of the associated device and to generate usage data therefore. One device is a patient positioning device including a wedge-shaped body with at least one pressure sensor associated with the bottom surface. The wedge-shaped body is formed of a compressible viscoelastic open-cell foam composition that is adapted to compress under the weight so that the angle of the ramp surface of the wedge decreases from an initial ramp angle to a tilt angle for supporting the patient.
THERAPEUTIC DEVICE FOR EXTREMETIES
A therapeutic device is provided for where the therapeutic device made up of a unitary elongated piece having a distal end and a proximate end, where the distal end is the unitary elongated piece that is in a configuration to provide an elevated landing for lower or upper extremities, and is equipped with a material connected to the elongated piece and extending to a desired length and culminating at the proximate end, where this material implements a supporting means for the upper or lower extremities of a user, provided that these extremities are not resting on the elongated piece.
Patient Support Apparatus For Controlling Patient Ingress And Egress
A patient support apparatus comprising a base movable about a floor surface and a deck comprising sections movable between deck configurations including an egress deck configuration. An articulation system coupled to the deck moves the sections. A lift mechanism moves the deck relative to the base between lift configurations including an egress lift configuration. An egress input is arranged for actuation by a user. A bed detection system monitors data associated with the patient support apparatus and communicates with a remote station. A controller interrupts communication of the bed detection system with the remote station, drives the articulation system to move the sections to the egress deck configuration, and drives the lift mechanism to move the support frame to the egress lift configuration in response to actuation of the egress input.
