In a character string reading device, an imaging part obtains an image of a read object, and an output format setting part sets an output format of a character string to be read from the image and to be output. A character recognition condition setting part sets a character recognition condition, that only a group of characters including all characters defined by the output format are to be identified, among characters which the character string reading device can identify. A character string recognizing part recognizes a character string in the image according to the character recognition condition. A character extracting part obtains a character string for output, at a portion matching the output format among the recognized character string.

The image processing method includes: receiving a first input performed by a user; identifying a first text region on a target image in response to the first input; training a text image of the first text region on the target image to obtain a first font style model of the first text region; receiving a second input performed by the user; in response to the second input, obtaining a first input text, and training the first input text according to the first font style model to obtain a second text matching a font style of the first text region; and replacing text of the first text region with the second text on the target image.

Semantic vectorization techniques are described that support generating and editing of vector objects from raster objects. A raster object, for instance, is received as an input by a semantic vectorization system. The raster object is utilized by the semantic vectorization system to generate a semantic classification for the raster object. The semantic classification identifies semantic objects in the raster image. The semantic vectorization system leverages the semantic classification to generate vector objects. As a result, the vector objects resemble the semantic objects in the raster object.

The information processing device recognizes a character string and a non-character object included in the image for printing that has been input, determines a plurality of element regions each including the character string recognized, determines whether, in each of the element regions, the recognized character string matches a character string included in document data, determines whether, in each of the element regions, the recognized character string satisfies a predetermined condition, and displays a confirmation screen including the image for printing clearly indicating a region determined not to match the character string included in the document data or a region determined not to satisfy the predetermined condition defined by the regulation data.
Vector Object Generation from Raster Objects using Semantic Vectorization
Semantic vectorization techniques are described that support generating and editing of vector objects from raster objects. A raster object, for instance, is received as an input by a semantic vectorization system. The raster object is utilized by the semantic vectorization system to generate a semantic classification for the raster object. The semantic classification identifies semantic objects in the raster image. The semantic vectorization system leverages the semantic classification to generate vector objects. As a result, the vector objects resemble the semantic objects in the raster object.

Provided is a matching system for images and text descriptions in a specification. The matching system includes an image-and-text recognition device, receiving a specification and recognizing image blocks and text blocks thereon, the image block having corresponding covering range; and a preference value calculation device, assigning preference value to each of the text blocks according to positional relationship between the above-mentioned text block and the above-mentioned image block, and the contents of the above-mentioned text block, for matching the image blocks and the text blocks.
Form Processing Using Image Matching
The disclosure is directed to extracting data from a page of an input document (e.g., a filled-out form) by identifying a matching reference document page. A system and a computer-implemented method include computing a set of keypoints within a document page and a plurality of filtered sets of matching keypoints for a plurality of reference document pages. A homographic transformation to match an input page with candidate reference pages based on keypoints forms and evaluating the respective registration forms the basis for identifying a matching reference document page. Based on the identified matching reference document page, a template may be created to extract data from the input document page.
Automatic orientation correction for captured images
In some implementations, a device may receive an image of a document, the image depicting a reference feature associated with the document, the reference feature including at least one of: a face of a person, a machine-readable code, or a text field. The device may identify a rotational angle of the reference feature as depicted in the image based on comparing the reference feature as depicted in the image to one or more orientation parameters of the reference feature associated with a display orientation associated with the document. The device may rotate the image of the document by an angle to obtain an orientated image of the document, the angle being based on the rotational angle of the reference feature as depicted in the image. The device may provide the orientated image of the document for display.

A serial number recognition parameter determination apparatus includes: a generation unit, an identification unit, and an evaluation index calculation unit. The generation unit generates a parameter set of a program, the program being used when a paper sheet handing apparatus identifies, from an image of a paper sheet, character present regions in which characters that form a serial number are present. The identification unit identifies, from an image of the paper sheet, the character present regions by using the parameter set that is generated by the generation unit. The evaluation index calculation unit calculates an evaluation index of the parameter set based on the character present regions that are identified by the identification unit.
Photo-based workflow initiation
Systems and methods are provided for generating a resource transmission request to initiate a workflow associated with resource transmission. In particular, the disclosed technology is directed to processing image data corresponding to a physical notice of a request for resource transmission to generate an electronic resource transmission request. The system captures image data of the notice and extracts data from the image data. As an example, the system matches the extracted data against predetermined forms and determines whether the notice is in a known format. In instances where there is no match (such that the notice has an unknown format), the system uses one or more of heatmaps, rules of locating field data, and/or a field data extraction model to assign respective field names with data values in the extracted data. The heatmap includes regions in the image data with a likelihood of data values corresponding to particular field names.
