A device may be provided for preventing fatal bathroom accidents relating to falls. Such a shower fall prevention device may be attached to a fixing point on a ceiling of a shower and may have two arm pit hooks pivotably connected to the fixing point. It may further comprise a rod connected between the fixing point and a bar, where arm pit hooks may be connected on right and left ends of the bar. The device may further comprise a strong rubber band or an extendable and retractable belt, connected between the fixing point and the rod. The device may further comprise a handle next to the rod and connected to the bar via an extension of a free end of one of the arm pit hooks, and may further comprise a cushion formed on an extension of a free end of one of the arm pit hooks.

Water birthing apparatus for use in a bath sized to accommodate an adult woman in childbirth, the bath having a base wall and one or more side walls extending upwardly from the base wall to an upper edge to define an open top, including: a false floor sized to cover at least some of the base wall of the bath and including drainage means for draining water from above the false floor to below the false floor; and lifting means associated with the false floor and operable for moving the false floor between a lower position at which the false floor is adjacent or resting on the base wall and an elevated position spaced at which the false floor is spaced above the base wall, and wherein the lifting means includes a plurality of lifting arms connected to the false floor and extending from a movable carriage assembly mounted to a carriage track, the carriage assembly being movable up and down the carriage track.

A door security system and method may increase the home security for elderly people without limiting the privacy of or convenience for residents. The method comprises detecting closing of a door; keeping a first locking mechanism of said door in an open position for a first predetermined period of time after said closing; after said predetermined period of time, changing said first locking mechanism into a locked position. The re-entry time frame permits a user to re-enter without a key, immediately after realizing they forgot it. The method may further comprise recognizing motion of a person on a door of a house through a camera provided in or near the door; producing streaming footage; sending the streaming footage to a central processing server; processing the streaming footage for face recognition purpose and checking against several; and storing all data on the server.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a patient moving system. The patient moving system can include a support structure which further includes a first support member, a second support member and a third support member, the second support member is arranged parallel to the third support member. The system can also include a flexible member removably attached to the second support member and the third support member. The system can also include a tensioning device mechanically coupled to at least the flexible member and configured to provide tension to the flexible member.

A transfer apparatus for receiving the chair seat of a wheelchair and supporting the chair seat in the base of a washing enclosure. The transfer apparatus has a chair support member including a chair support track section that can be positioned in the washing enclosure base. The transfer apparatus also has a bridge portion including a bridge track section that is movably mounted to the chair support member. The bridge portion transitions between a storage position and an in-use position. In the in-use position the bridge portion is engaged with the wheelchair and the bridge track section is aligned with the chair support track section. The chair seat can be translated from the wheelchair along the bridge track section to the chair support track section when the bridge portion is in the in-use position and engaged with the wheelchair.

A control system (810) for a bathing aid (100), wherein the bathing aid comprises a bathing enclosure (101), a telescopic element (110), a seat (120) and an actuation system (140) coupled to the telescopic element and the seat. The actuation system is configured to move the seat on the telescopic element along the horizontal axis between a retracted position of the seat within the bathing enclosure and an extended position of the seat outside the bathing enclosure. The bathing aid further comprises a water supply system (710) for a supply of water to the bathing enclosure. The control system is configured for communicative coupling to the actuation system and to the water supply system, and wherein the control system is configured to control a movement of the seat and configured to control a supply of water to the bathing enclosure.

An adjustable bathing booster seat system assists individuals with difficulty stepping into a conventional bathtub. It allows a user to be seated on a mechanically assisted seat member to maneuver them over the side of the bathtub and be lowered into the bathtub where they will be able to bathe themselves. When they finish bathing, they will then be lifted up and over the side of the bathtub where they will exit the adjustable bathing booster seat.

A physical transfer device/board for people in therapy or in need of special care. It starts with a long plank that bridges between the start and finish point and then the plank has a movable, rotating disk with an optional back and leg rest. The disk slides from Point A start to Point B finish and is actuated by an electric motor powered with a battery or electricity from a plug-in receptacle. The whole device is portable with a foldable leg structure to securely and safely support the patient. The use and method of the device anticipates transfers such as a patient in a bed or wheel chair transfer to a tub, shower, toilet or other place for some personal or medical need.
