A computer-implemented technique is described herein that receives captured stroke information when a user enters a handwritten note using an input capture device. The technique then analyzes the captured stroke information to produce output analysis information. Based on the output analysis information, the technique modifies the captured stroke information into an actionable form that contains one or more actionable content items, while otherwise preserving the original form of the captured stroke information. The technique then presents the modified stroke information on a canvas display device. The user may subsequently activate one or more actionable content items in the modified stroke information to perform various supplemental tasks that pertain to the handwritten note. In one case, for example, the technique can recognize the presence of entity items and/or list items in the note and then reproduce them in an actionable form.

Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a device and method for providing connection between an electronic device and other electronic devices through figure input. According to one embodiment, a first electronic device comprises a display, a processor operatively connected to the display, and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory may include instructions by which, when executed, the processor: generates a first figure for connection authentication of a second electronic device; displays the first figure through the display; transmits a signal related to the first figure to the first electronic device; when a response signal corresponding to the signal related to the first figure is received, identifies a second figure included in the response signal; determines whether the second electronic device is authenticated, on the basis of a similarity between the first figure and the second figure; and establishes connection to the second electronic device on the basis of a result of the determining.

At least a portion of the plurality of image candidates displayed on the display represents a different person or an object.

For example, a content management server may provide real-time analysis of a user's handwriting to assess the user's knowledge of a language, including using a convolution neural network method. The convolution neural network method may be executed to normalize at least some identified strokes in the user's handwritten user input. Normalization may be performed by translating a window comprising a subset of pixels in a digital representation of the handwritten user input amongst a plurality of pixels in the digital representation.

Multiple search patterns may be obtained. Characters within the multiple search patterns may be included within multiple alphabets. A pool including the characters within the multiple search patterns may be defined. A pointer for text to be searched may be set. Whether a character of the text corresponding to the pointer matches any character within the pool may be determined. Based on the character of the text corresponding to the pointer matching any character within the pool, a first portion of the text may be selected for a search of the multiple search patterns. Based on the character of the text corresponding to the pointer not matching any character within the pool, a second portion of the text may be skipped from the search of the multiple search patterns.

A method for motion tracking and text recognition, the method including a step of generating ultrasound waves with a transmitter; a step of receiving the ultrasound waves at a receiver, the receiver including sensors that record the ultrasound waves; a step of estimating with a processor, angle-of-arrival information for the ultrasound waves; a step of associating the angle-of-arrival information with a gesture; a step of extracting features from the gesture; and a step of classifying the gesture as a specific text character based on the extracted features by comparing the extracted features with known text characters stored in one or more templates.
