A method for applying a graphic effect in an electronic device. The method includes identifying a stroke constituting a character based on an input sensed through a display of the electronic device, displaying the identified stroke through the display, identifying a language corresponding to the identified stroke, and identifying a variation value for a graphic effect of the displayed stroke based on a complexity of the identified language.
CONTEXT-BASED SHAPE EXTRACTION AND INTERPRETATION FROM HAND-DRAWN INK INPUT
The electronic devices described herein are configured to enhance user experience associated with drawing or otherwise inputting shape data into the electronic devices. Shape input data is identified and matched against known shape patterns and, when a match is found, an entity associated with the shape is determined. The entity is converted into an annotation for rendering and/or displaying to the user. The shape identification, entity determination, and annotation conversion may all be based on one or more context elements to increase the accuracy of the shape interpretation. In particular, elements of conversations held via the electronic devices may be used as context for the shape interpretation. Further, machine learning techniques may be applied based on a variety of feedback data to improve the accuracy, speed, and/or performance of the shape interpretation process.
INFERRING STROKE INFORMATION FROM AN IMAGE
A method for character recognition. The method includes: obtaining a plurality of character segments extracted from an image; determining a first character bounding box including a first set of the plurality of character segments and a second character bounding box including a second set of the plurality of character segments; determining an ordering for the first set based on a plurality of texture properties for the first set; determining a plurality of directions of the first set based on a plurality of brush widths and a plurality of intensities for the first set; and executing character recognition for the first character bounding box by sending the first set, the plurality of directions for the first set, and the ordering for the first set to an intelligent character recognition (ICR) engine.
System and method for digital ink interactivity
A system, method and computer program product for use in providing interactive ink from handwriting input to a computing device are provided. The computing device is connected to an input device in the form of an input surface. A user is able to provide input by applying pressure to or gesturing above the input surface using either his or her finger or an instrument such as a stylus or pen. The present system and method monitors the input strokes. The computing device further has a processor and an ink management system for recognizing the handwriting input under control of the processor. The ink management system is configured to cause display of, on a display interface of a computing device, first digital ink in accordance with first handwriting input, allocate references to ink elements of the first digital ink, map the references to corresponding recognized elements of the first handwriting input, and determine and store, in the memory of a computing device, ink objects including the references and mapped recognized elements.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIGITIZATION OF DOCUMENT
A method and a system for digitization of a document are disclosed. The document is scanned to generate an electronic document. One or more characters in a first set of portions of the electronic document are identified, based on a character recognition technique. Each portion in the first set of portions is classified in one or more groups based on at least a status of identification of the corresponding one or more characters. Further, one or more tasks are created for each of the one or more groups. The one or more tasks are transmitted to one or more crowdworkers, based at least on the respective type of the one or more tasks. Further, a response for each of the one or more tasks is received. Based on the received response, a digitized document is generated.
Machine learning (ML)-based system and method for correcting image data
A system and method for correcting image data is disclosed. The method includes receiving one or more documents from one or more electronic mediums. The method further includes determining a primary character and one or more alternate characters corresponding to the mis-captured character image, extracting one or more confident instances of the primary character and the one or more alternate characters from the one or more documents and generating one or more scores corresponding to the primary character and the one or more alternate characters. Further, the method includes predicting a correct character corresponding to the mis-captured character image by using a trained image prediction-based ML model and automatically replacing the mis-captured character image with the predicted correct character.
Uniquely identifying a portable electronic device
A system and method for uniquely identifying a portable electronic device using a user device are provided. In a method conducted at the portable electronic device, user input prompting display of an optical device identifier is received. A device identifier uniquely associated with the electronic device is retrieved from a read-only digital memory of the electronic device, the device identifier having been programmed into the electronic device at the time of manufacture. An optical device identifier being an optical machine-readable representation of the unique device identifier is generated and output on a display screen of the electronic device for subsequent acquisition by a user device. Outputting the optical device identifier on the display screen of the device for acquisition by a user device may obviate the need for the device identifier to be otherwise displayed on the electronic device, for example, by way of a printed or embossed label.

A method for processing an image with a processor, including: identifying, within an image, a candidate arrow including a long path adjacent to a plurality of short paths; determining a direction of the candidate arrow based on the long path; estimating a tip pixel within the plurality of short paths based on the direction of the candidate arrow; determining, for the candidate arrow, a plurality of arrowhead edges in the plurality of short paths based on the tip pixel; and generating, for the candidate arrow, a plurality of refined arrowhead edges based on the plurality of arrowhead edges, the direction, and the tip pixel.
