A grouping control method to be executed by a computer, the grouping control method includes, based on a positional relation between a first object and a second object, displaying a third object associated with the second object and determining whether or not the first object and the second object are to be grouped together based on a degree of approximation between the first object and the third object.

HANDWRITING AUTO-COMPLETE FUNCTION
20190114478 · 2019-04-18 ·

A method and apparatus for an auto-complete function in a user's handwriting for touch screen devices is described. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving, from a touch-screen display, a handwriting input. The handwriting input is converted into textual information. Based on the textual information, one or more prompt options are generated. The one or more prompt options are rendered for display on the touch-screen display in a similar appearance as the handwriting input. The method can further include receiving a selected prompt option input and rendering the selected prompt option for display on the touch screen display in a similar appearance as the handwriting input.

The disclosure relates to a character input method and system, which may include a digital device including an input surface and an output surface. The method and system may include or perform operations including: displaying a character string using a recognition area and an insertion area of the output surface; selecting a position within the character string; displaying, in the recognition area, a part of the string ending with a first character while masking, in the insertion area, a part of the string starting with a second, succeeding character; detecting an input stroke entered manually in the insertion area; performing handwriting recognition; inserting, at the position within the string of characters, a recognised character(s); and scrolling the string in the recognition area so as to display, in the recognition area, the recognised character(s) that were inserted into the string of characters.

AUTHENTICATION METHOD, COMPUTER SYSTEM, SERVER COMPUTER AND AUTHENTICATION PROGRAM

An authentication system and method is configured to correlate a first computer mounted with a touch panel owned by a store and a second computer, such as a smart device held by a client side, for performing a contact operation using an input device, and clarifying that both exist in the same space based on a time difference in the time of contact of both.

Handwriting input for elevator destination floor input
10173861 · 2019-01-08 · ·

A method includes receiving, by a computing device including a processor, a handwriting input including a selection of a destination floor associated with an elevator system, determining, by the computing device, that the handwriting input selection is recognizable, presenting, by the computing device, a message that requests confirmation that the input selection is interpreted correctly based on determining that the handwriting input selection is recognizable, receiving, by the computing device, a response to the message that confirms the input selection, and causing, by the computing device, the elevator system to provide access to the destination floor based on the response.

WORK ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND WORK ASSISTANCE METHOD

A work assistance system includes a drawing, a work record table, a handwriting display determination unit, a display control unit, and input means. The drawing includes parts and handwritings. The work record table stores the handwriting for the part as the work record. The handwriting display determination unit determines, as the writing candidates, the handwritings not associated with the parts based on the work record table. The display control unit displays the writing candidates and the parts via the input means in a selectable manner on a data display unit of a terminal of a user.

CONTENT INKER

Various systems and methods for inking reflowable content are described herein. In an example, the system includes a processor and storage with instructions that in response to execution on the processor cause the processor to identify inking input. In an example, the inking input is identified in a content area of a reflowable document. In an example, the system capture an image of the inking input and the content area indicated by the inking input. In an example, the system may also capture an ink stroke of the inking input. The ink stroke of the inking input and the image of the inking input and content area can be provided for display in response to a detection that the reflowable document is being displayed in a modified context.

SKETCH-BASED IMAGE RETRIEVAL USING FEEDBACK AND HIERARCHIES

A system, method and program product for implementing a sketch-based retrieval system. A system is disclosed that includes: an interface having a canvas for entering inputs including user generated strokes, and extracting features associated with the inputs; a hierarchy system for assigning an importance to the inputs; a matching system for retrieving matches from a database based on extracted features and importance associated with the extracted features; a feedback system that provides real-time feedback on the canvas to suggest improved inputs for the user; and a ranking system that ranks retrieved matches for output in the interface by incorporating user interaction history.

AUGMENTING DIGITAL INK STROKES

A content creation application with an ink augmenting feature can communicate at least one recognized term from ink strokes input to a canvas interface of the content creation application to an ink augmenting service. The content creation application can receive at least one keyword from the ink augmenting service, where each keyword indicates a corresponding recognized term having available content identified by the ink augmenting service. The content creation application then transforms a grouping of the ink strokes corresponding to the recognized term indicated by each keyword to an actionable item in the canvas interface. Selection of the actionable item invokes the command to provide the available content.

Undo operation for ink stroke conversion

One embodiment provides a method, including: accepting, at an input and display device, an ink stroke provided to an input overlay application; providing a display of the ink stroke on the input and display device; converting the ink stroke input into a converted input for an underlying application; providing the converted input to the underlying application; detecting a user input associated with the converted input; and reverting to the ink stroke on the input and display device. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
