Overhead lift systems for mounting and dismounting lift units on an overhead rail
11013654 · 2021-05-25 · ·

An overhead lift system for supporting a person with a lift unit includes an overhead rail and an elevator track. The overhead rail includes a subject support portion and a docking portion. An end of the docking portion is removably coupled to an end of the subject support portion. The elevator track is coupled to the docking portion of the overhead rail. The elevator track is configured to convey the docking portion of the overhead rail from a height of the subject support portion of the overhead rail toward a position below the height of the subject support portion of the overhead rail.

Attachment Members for a Slingbar Component of a Lift System

A slingbar includes a sling attachment member. The sling attachment member includes a frame including a base having a top end and a bottom end, and a hook extending from the bottom end to a hook terminus. The hook terminus and the top end of the base define an opening. The hook, base, and opening bound an interior of the attachment member. A closure element includes an outboard gate hinged to the hook terminus and an inboard gate hinged to the base. The gates have a default state in which each gate extends laterally only part way across the opening.

Size Adjustable Sling

A sling for supporting a subject such as a patient includes a panel assembly including a left flank with a left end, a right flank with a right end, and an interflank panel. The interflank panel has a left extremity permanently joined to the left end of the left flank and a right extremity permanently joined to the right end of the right flank. The sling also includes a left closure element and a right closure element which are securable to each other and releasable from each other to adjust an effective dimension of the sling. In another embodiment, the sling includes a frangible closure member which secures the left flank to the right flank.

A device positioned near a user provides support to the user in sitting and standing positions. The user can move from sitting to standing, without assistance, even if the user is relatively weakened. The device includes (1) a base and tower, and provides support to the user when in-between; (2) a personal support coupled to the tower, and operated by a user control, such as a wheel or a motor. The tower can include padding or knee support so the user can lean against the tower.

Adaptive compensation of wear in person lifting assemblies

A motive system for a patient lifting assembly, a patient lifting assembly and a method of operating a patient lifting assembly. The motive system includes an electric motor, numerous sensors and an adaptive control unit cooperative with one another so that a memory and processor that are part of the control unit that can respectively store and execute a computer readable and executable instruction set. By comparing collected data from the sensors during operation of the motor to corresponding reference values associated with one or more motor operational parameters—such as accumulated motor wear over time or differences in operating temperature of the motor—the system can selectively adjust the maximum amount of current available for use by the motor. In this way, changes in motor efficiencies that arise with these parametric changes can be taken into consideration when determining an upper limit on how much electrical current may be delivered to the motor for a given load.

Modular chair systems and methods of transporting a subject with a modular chair system

Modular chair systems and methods of transporting a subject using a modular chair system are described. A modular chair system includes a seat component, a chair component, and a wheelchair component. The seat component includes a seat having a planar lower surface with one or more recesses and one or more attachment bars disposed in each of the recesses. The chair component includes one or more chair latch mechanisms and the wheelchair component includes one or more wheelchair latch mechanisms. Each attachment bar corresponds to one of the chair latch mechanisms and one of the wheelchair latch mechanisms such that the seat component is configured to be placed upon the chair component or the wheelchair component and releasably held in place by the chair latch mechanisms or the wheelchair latch mechanisms.

PATIENT REPOSITIONING APPARATUS

A patient repositioning apparatus includes a mounting frame configured to couple to an underside of a bed frame. A motor housing is rotatably coupled to the mounting frame for rotation about an axis. The motor housing carries a motor and a winch. The motor is operable to turn the winch. A strap is coupled to the winch and configured to be wound around the winch by the motor. The strap has at least one coupling mechanism configured to couple to a bed sheet.

FALL ARRESTING LIFT MACHINE

A fall arresting lift machine has a gantry upon casters, a power source upon the gantry, a drive with a motor upon the gantry in communication with the power source, a controller in communication with the motor and the power source, a vertical strap paying out from the drive motor, a harness upon the strap, and the harness is suitable for wearing by a user. The gantry includes feet, housings, uprights, elbows, braces, and a union. The harness has straps for over both shoulders of the user and a belt and inertial measurement units upon the straps. The drive and controller cooperate to assist a user to sit and to stand, and to detect abrupt acceleration typical of a fall, and arrest the fall. The casters swivel, or alternately select wheels remain in fixed orientation.

DEVICE FOR BLOCKING A SHOE FOR A SYSTEM FOR REHABILITATING THE WALK, EXOSKELETON AND SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH DEVICE

A device is described, for blocking a shoe for an exoskeleton of a system for rehabilitating the walk comprising a structure designed to externally wrap the heel of a patient, allowing the contact between the sole of the shoe and the ground, the structure comprising a rear element connectable to a bearing and moving structure of a foot; a band assembly connected to the structure to strap up and tighten the shoe of the patient in order to make it integral with the device; an exoskeleton and a system comprising such device are further described.

Patient lift system

A patient lift system helps to lift and mobilize a disabled person in a home or in an institution with minimal effort from a caregiver. The patient lift system includes a lift, a carry bar and a hand control. The lift, the carry bar and the hand control have shapes and features that may be seen to facilitate quick and easy cleaning. Notably, gaps have been minimized for infection control purposes. Typically, a patient lift system includes an integral trolley for connecting the patient lift system to a track. For the patient lift system described herein, the trolley and lift system are separate pieces that are easily and quickly either attached or detached.
