METHODS OF PREPARING A SUBJECT FOR ROTATION AND ROTATING A SUBJECT USING AN OVERHEAD LIFT
A method of rotating a subject includes arranging a lifting aid underneath the subject such that a midline of the subject is off center from a centerline of the lifting aid in a direction opposite of the rotation direction. The lifting aid includes a first loop extending in the rotation direction and a second loop extending in the opposite direction. The method further includes connecting the loops to a sling bar coupled to an overhead lift and directing the overhead lift to raise, where the subject rotates towards the direction of rotation due to the off center location of the subject. The method further includes repositioning the subject when the subject has rotated to a lateral recumbent position and directing the overhead lift to lower, thereby causing the subject to continue rotating.
Apparatus and system for lifting, moving, turning, and positioning a patient
A patient support device includes a sheet configured to be placed beneath the patient in use and a plurality of straps connected to the sheet and configured for use in moving, lifting, turning, and/or positioning the patient. The straps may include one or more retractable straps that each have a stretchable retraction strap connected thereto and configured for retracting the retractable strap. The straps may also include one or more central support straps connected to the sheet in an area positioned between the legs of the patient. The sheet may also include a head support for supporting the patient's head, which head support may also include one or more straps. The straps may be connected to a hoist, which is then used to lift the patient.
ASSISTANCE METHOD USING ASSISTANCE DEVICE
The assistance method using an assistance device including a base, a support section configured to lift and lower the upper body of a care receiver with respect to the base while supporting the upper body of the care receiver from the front, and a driving section configured to drive the support section. The assistance device is configured to be waterproof. The assistance method includes a boarding step for boarding the seated care receiver onto the assistance device; and a rear side washing step for washing the body of the care receiver while the buttocks of the care receiver is lifted by lifting the support section.
Sit-to-stand wheelchair
This invention comprises a low cost, high strength sit-to-stand wheel chair assembly. It is comprised of a base with an upward extension formed of a linear actuator mounted within telescopic members. The telescopic members carry large wheels together with a linkage operated front wheels that are mounted on the forward position of the base. A power linear actuator assembly causes the telescopic members to extend and retract to move the wheelchair assembly from the mobile position to a raised position that permits the base to engage the floor surface and to assist the patient to move from a sitting position to a standing position.
Standing assistance apparatus
The present disclosure provides a standing assistance apparatus including a support part configured to support a load, a saddle part configured to accommodate a patient to allow the patient to position from sitting condition to standing condition, and a guide part coupled between the support part and the saddle part and having an adjustable length to guide the patient to stand, wherein the guide part is disposed in diagonal direction with respect to the support part to guide the patient to stand in the diagonal direction.
Mobility apparatus
A mobility apparatus having: a base having casters; a handle assembly pivotally attached to the base; a locking mechanism operable to place the handle assembly into a plurality of positions corresponding to an operating mode of the apparatus, and maintain the handle assembly in one of the plurality of positions; an actuating mechanism coupled to the locking mechanism to actuate the locking mechanism; and wherein the locking mechanism comprises: a hub fixedly secured to the base; a hub ring rotatably secured within the hub and comprising attachment means for the handle assembly; a gas spring mechanism coupled to the hub ring to provide a mechanical advantage to assist an operator in lifting a patient; a breaking mechanism for the casters, wherein the breaking mechanism is operable to lock and unlock the casters simultaneously.
SYSTEMS FOR MONITORING PERSON LIFTING DEVICES USING LOAD TENSION PINS
A multi-link device includes a load tension pin including a sensor configured to measure tension applied to the load tension pin, network interface hardware, one or more processors, and one or more memory modules storing computer readable and executable instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the multi-link device to: determine whether the tension measured by the load tension pin exceeds a threshold value; and transmit, by the network interface hardware, load event data to a receiver in response to determination that the tension exceeds the threshold value.
Lifting device for disabled person
The invention provides an electronically control motorized lifting device for transfer of a paraplegic between seated positions. A post extends from a wheeled base and movably supports a head for upwards and downwards movement. A lifting arm arrangement is pivotably secured to the head. The head is also rotatable about the post and the base movable between an expanded stabilizing condition and a retracted condition. The latter condition allows the lifting device to fit through a standard width doorway. Movement of the base between these conditions is effected by pivoting of the lifting arm arrangement into and out of a lateral supporting position. The base preferably includes five legs extending substantially radially from the post with two of the legs foldable towards adjacent legs.
Ambulatory assist device
An ambulatory assist device provides mobility assistance for an ambulatory transition between seated and standing positions. A mobile frame defines a structure similar to a walker device. The mobile frame includes a plurality of wheels for rolling communication with a ground surface. Lift arms, driven by an actuator, pivot around an axis of a cross member attached to the frame. The lift arm is configured for actuated pivotal movement for an ambulatory transition between seated and standing positions by a harness engaging the patient. The pivot is based on an arc of patient movement between the sitting and standing positions, such that the arc emulates natural movements of a human skeletal frame during an ambulatory transition. The patient experiences forces along the same path that an unassisted transition would encounter. Once in an ambulatory position, the device allows ambulatory movement in a manner similar to a walking assist (walker) device.
Lift systems with strain gauges incorporated in load beams and methods for operating the same
Overhead lift units are disclosed. In one embodiment, an overhead lift unit includes a carriage having wheels engageable with a rail, a lift frame coupled to the carriage such that the lift frame is suspended from the carriage, and a pair of load beams. The lift frame includes a lift strap extending from the lift frame and a pair of connection points extending from the lift frame. Each load beam of the pair of load beams is attached to one connection point of the pair of connection points of the lift frame at an inferior end of the load beam. Each load beam of the pair of load beams is attached to the carriage at a superior end of the load beam. And each load beam of the pair of load beams comprises a strain gauge operable to register a weight supported on the lift strap.
