ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICE (ELD) APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A mobile device for use in an electronic logging device (ELD) system may include a processor and one or more memories which store, singularly or in combination, one or more instructions, which when executed by the processor cause the mobile device to carry out one or more operations. The one or more operations may include reading a machine readable code configured to be coupled to a vehicle, connecting to an ELD dongle based, at least in part, on the machine readable code, receiving data from the ELD dongle, and generating one or more mobile device reports based, at least in part, on the received data.
Privacy control-adjustable commercial vehicle electronic logging device (ELD) and trip data-sharing system between a transportation company and a third-party corporate partner entity
A novel privacy control-adjustable commercial vehicle ELD and trip data-sharing system and a related method of operation provide a dynamically-adjustable access grant or denial of privacy-sensitive and competitive intelligence-sensitive commercial fleet vehicle operations information to a third-party corporate partner entity of a transportation company, based on a trip data-share authorizer's response to an electronic request made by the third-party corporate partner entity. In one embodiment, vehicle information is categorized into a mandatory disclosure dataset and a privacy-adjustable dataset, wherein the mandatory disclosure dataset is disclosed to a vehicle monitoring personnel or an authorized third-party corporate partner entity at all times within a prespecified time limit, while the privacy-adjustable dataset is only selectively accessible when the trip data share authorizer explicitly grants access via an electronic user interface connected to the privacy control-adjustable commercial vehicle ELD and trip data-sharing system, upon entry of a correct or authenticated partner key.
Connected Diagnostic System and Method
A connected diagnostic system (CDS) for mobile assets that includes an onboard processing unit and a remote web-based platform that provides a remote view of an onboard display and/or Human Machine Interface (HMI) of the mobile asset. The onboard display and/or HMI can be the mobile asset's own onboard display or an onboard display can be included with the CDS. The onboard processing unit receives data from data sources onboard the mobile asset, such as onboard systems and onboard subsystems, and/or data sources remote from the mobile asset and displays the data on the onboard display, using wired communication channels, and on the remote web-based platform, using wireless communication channels. The onboard processing unit can also receive data from a data acquisition and recording system (DARS) for mobile assets that includes a data recorder.
Method and system for logging vehicle behavior
A mobile telecommunications device configured to log driving information associated with a vehicle is described. The mobile telecommunications device comprises: a sensor set comprising at least one of an image sensor, an audio sensor, an accelerometer and a positioning module, or a combination thereof; a processor; and a memory; the mobile telecommunications device being configured to: determine, based at least in part on sensor data from the device's sensor set, a start of a driving period during which the mobile device is present in the vehicle and the vehicle is in use, process the sensor data from the sensor set during the driving period to derive driving information associated with how the vehicle is driven, mobile telecommunications device being configured to process the sensor data automatically, using a neural network provided in the mobile device, to determine whether the driving information represents an acceptable or unacceptable driving pattern; and store at least some of the driving information to the memory.
Black box with volatile memory caching
In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a volatile memory module configured to store vehicle data, and a refrigeration module coupled to the volatile memory module. The refrigeration module includes one or more chambers containing one or more coolant materials. When the one or more chambers are exposed by an exigent situation associated with a vehicle, the one or more chambers are configured to release the one or more coolant materials to lower a temperature of the volatile memory module.
VIDEO RECORDER
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for recording video data of an event. The apparatuses include a processor communicating with memory. The memory stores video data of the event captured by a camera, and the video data includes a series of picture frames of the event. A loop buffer also stores video data of the event captured by the camera. A rule-based engine stored in the memory uses a set of rules to store the contents of the loop buffer in the memory. The apparatus utilizes the loop buffer to provide video data prior to occurrence of the event.
System for telematically providing vehicle component rating
Apparatus, device, methods and system relating to a vehicular telemetry environment for monitoring vehicle components and providing indications towards the rating condition of the vehicle components and providing optimal indications towards replacement or maintenance of vehicle components before vehicle component failure are disclosed.
