AIR MATTRESS SYSTEM
An air mattress system includes a mattress including main cells arranged in parallel between a head end and a tail end of the mattress. At least one of the main cells allows air pressure therein to be individually adjusted or adjusted together with air pressure of other main cells. Air pressure valves are connected to the main cells. A controller controls at least one of the air pressure valves to perform an inflation operation or a deflation operation. A human machine interface system provides health care items and receives a selective operation of a first target item among the health care items. The controller controls, according to the first target item, the air pressure valves to sequentially perform one of the deflation inflation operations on the main cells along a major axis between the head end and the tail end, and a health care operation is thus assisted.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LIFTING AND POSITIONING A PATIENT
An inflatable device for lifting a patient includes an inflatable body having a top sheet and a bottom sheet attached along opposing side edges and forming at least one cavity there between, and a plurality of connecting members extending outwardly from the opposing side edges of the inflatable device. The inflatable device is configured to be inflated while being lifted by the hoist.
PATIENT TRANSPORT APPARATUS
A method of manufacturing a patient transfer system including obtaining an inflatable device, where the device includes a top sheet of material and a bottom sheet of material connected to the top sheet of material defining a cavity therebetween to be inflated. The device further includes a plurality of passages in the bottom sheet extending from the cavity to an exterior of the device, where the passages are configured to permit air to pass from the cavity to the exterior of the device. The device also including a plurality of inflation-limiting members connecting the top sheet and bottom sheet, and an input configured for receiving air to inflate the device. The method further includes providing an absorbent body pad with the inflatable device, the absorbent body pad configured to be positioned between the top sheet of material and a patient positioned on the inflatable device.
INFLATABLE SUPPORT
An inflatable support for lifting and supporting a patient, comprising two aligned and spaced apart inflatable cells with a central channel between the cells; and a connection sheet attached to an upper sheet of each inflatable cell and extending across the central channel. The inflatable support may be snugly received in a bag, and the invention relates also to a kit comprising an inflatable support and bag; and to a system comprising multiple inflatable supports.
Flexible lifting and lowering system
A way of safely lifting or lowering a person of limited physical strength or coordination, using a system of bladders an outer membrane and a supply of product, gas, liquid or otherwise.
By using a small portable lifting or lowering device, comprising of a series of bladders with fail safes encased in an outer membrane, peace of mind and mobility can be given to people of limited physical strength. The fear of falling and not being rescued can cause people to move into a different assisted living home. With this system of lifting, the fear of falling would be greatly reduced.
Portable, inflatable mattress for lifting and transporting corpses
An inflatable mattress is placed in a deflated state at a location a human corpse departed from life. The inflatable mattress may include two elongated chambers and one rectangular mattress chamber that supports the human corpse. The inflatable mattress may include one or more devices for coupling the human corpse to a top surface of the inflatable mattress. An inflation device coupled to the inflatable mattress is used to inflate the inflatable mattress to a selected height in less than about 2 minutes with the human corpse coupled to the inflatable mattress. The inflatable mattress is movable, with the human corpse coupled to the inflatable mattress, from the location the human corpse departed from life to a secondary location.
Transfer assistance device
The transfer assistance device includes a bogie, an arm tiltably supported by the bogie, a holding part that is supported by the arm and holds a torso of a person being assisted. The holding part includes at least a low pressure cell group and a high pressure cell group configured to respectively face different parts of a front surface of the torso of the person being assisted. The transfer assistance device further includes air pressure adjuster configured to individually adjust air pressure of the low pressure cell group and air pressure of the high pressure cell group.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PATIENT TURNING AND REPOSITIONING WITH SIMULTANEOUS OFF-LOADING OF THE BODY IN THE PRONE POSITION
The present invention relates to a system and method for sacral and trochanteric support and off-loading. The system provides a ultra low pressure plenum and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenum to allow the combination of the ultra low pressure plenum and the positioner to slightly lift a patient from a bed surface, thereby offloading the sacrum and trochanter. The positioner can be an ultra low pressure bladder.
Bed alarm communication system
A system that monitors various conditions of a plurality of hospital beds located in different rooms of a healthcare facility is provided. Alternatively or additionally, other types of equipment may be monitored by the system. Various configurations of network interface units that are coupleable to or integrated into a hospital bed are also disclosed. The system receives data from the hospital beds and/or other equipment and initiates a communication to a wireless communication device of at least one designated caregiver in response to the received data being indicative of an alarm condition.
Therapeutic cushion systems and methods
Apparatus and methods for providing therapeutic treatment for symptoms associated with GERD and/or other digestive disorders and/or other medical conditions are described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a support element that has a first end portion and a second end portion and a top surface disposed at an angle relative to a bottom surface of the support element. The second end portion has a height greater than the first end portion. A riser element is configured to be coupled proximate to the second end portion of the support element. A body element is configured to be disposed on at least one of the support element or the riser element. The body element has a first arm and a second arm connected together by an arc portion.
