KEYS AND LOCKS
A key and lock set for a vehicle includes: a vehicle lock set with both vehicle door lock and vehicle engine start lock; a passcode for mechanical lock; a rotary mechanical passcode dialer or push-button mechanical passcode keypad that is mounted in vehicle and accessible from vehicle outside; an electronic key in the form of a card key, tag key, passcode or biometric for an electronic lock, wireless key with a built-in power source, portable electronic appliance with key software or key hardware of cell phone, smart phone, tablet, computer, smart watch, digital camera or digital multimedia player; and an electronic key identifier that is mounted in vehicle for the electronic key.
System for securing a device
Security system fitted in a device, the security system comprising a command element that is actuatable by an operator at least to a first position and to a second position.
VEHICULAR ILLUMINATION SYSTEM WITH RECONFIGURABLE DISPLAY ELEMENT
A vehicular illumination system includes a ground illumination module disposed at a side door of a vehicle. The ground illumination module includes a reconfigurable display element and at least one light source operable to emit light. When the at least one light source is electrically powered, light emitted by the at least one light source illuminates a ground region adjacent the vehicle. When the at least one light source is electrically powered, light emitted by the at least one light source passes through the reconfigurable display element and the ground illumination module projects an icon established by the reconfigurable display element onto the ground region. The reconfigurable display element is reconfigurable to form the icon responsive to programming of the reconfigurable display element for an icon.
THREE-LEVEL MOTION DETECTOR USING ACCELEROMETER DEVICE IN KEY FOB APPLICATION
A remote access device and methods of operation thereof are provided for accessing a physical object or location. The remote access device includes an accelerometer, a wireless transmitter, and control circuitry. The control circuitry causes the wireless transmitter to transition between a first operating mode and a second operating mode in response to receiving signals from the accelerometer indicating a first change in motion states of the remote access device. The control circuitry causes the wireless transmitter to transition between a first operating mode and a second operating mode in response to receiving signals from the accelerometer indicating a second change in motion states of the remote access device. The control circuitry further causes the wireless transmitter to transition between the first operating mode and the second operating mode in response to receiving signals from the accelerometer indicating a third change in motion states of the remote access device.
Vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a ground illumination module or turn signal indicator that includes at least one light source operable to emit light when electrically powered. A near field communication device communicates utilizing a near field communication (NFC) standard. Responsive to a near field communication-enabled device being present exterior the vehicle, the near field communication device wirelessly receives a communication from the near field communication-enabled device and determines whether the near field communication-enabled device is an authorized device. Responsive to determining that the near field communication-enabled device is an authorized device, the near field communication device authenticates the near field communication-enabled device as an authorized device for communication with the near field communication device. When the near field communication-enabled device is within a threshold distance to the vehicle, the at least one light source is electrically powered.
Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) Electronic Cylinder and Method
A lock module comprises a cylinder including a control latch configured to mechanically rotate between an extended position to prevent removal of the cylinder from a lock assembly, and a retracted position to allow removal of the cylinder from the lock assembly. A rotator is configured to enable the control latch to rotate between a locked position and an unlocked position. An actuation rod is configured to travel between a tab-blocking position maintaining the control latch in the extended position, and a retracted position allowing the control latch to retract into a retracted position. A control pin is configured to restrict the travel of the actuation rod in a control pin-blocking position in response to the rotator being rotated to a locked position and to retract from blocking the travel of the actuation rod to the control pin-unblocking position in response to the rotator being rotated to an unlocked position.
NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION TAG
A method and a tag for opening a powerless electromechanical lock are provided. The tag comprises a power source, a near field communication transceiver, an antenna connected to the transceiver, an proximity switch and a controller. The switch is configured to wake up the controller from a low power mode upon a detection of a predetermined signal. The controller is configured after the wake up to activate the near field communication transceiver and control the transceiver to transmit via the antenna wirelessly first operating power to the lock for communication and authentication, perform authentication with the lock and, provided that the authentication is successful, control the transceiver to transmit wirelessly second operating power to the lock for the lock to be set into an openable state.
AUTOMATIC SLIDING PANEL DEADBOLT LOCK ASSEMBLY
A sliding panel deadbolt lock assembly that is associated with a sliding panel that transitions between an open position and a closed position relative to a stationary panel that is coupled to the sliding panel. A sliding panel lock assembly includes a pin that transitions between an engaged position and a retracted position. A first magnetic field sensing device is positioned at the retracted position of the pin when the pin is in the retracted position to enable the sliding panel to transition from the closed position. The first magnetic field sensing device detects a magnetic field generated by a first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin. The first magnetic field sensing device positioned at the retracted position of the pin is aligned with the first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin when the pin is in the retracted position.
Utilizing a short-range wireless communication device to provide keyless access to a safe deposit box
A device receives, from a short-range wireless communication device associated with a safe deposit box, first data identifying a first transaction card, and identifies a bank employee associated with the first data. The device determines whether the bank employee is authorized to access the safe deposit box, and starts a timer when the bank employee is authorized to access the safe deposit box. The device receives, from the short-range wireless communication device, second data identifying a second transaction card, and determines whether the second data is received prior to an expiration of the timer. The device identifies a customer associated with the second data when the second data is received prior to the expiration of the timer, and determines whether the customer is authorized to access the safe deposit box. The device causes the safe deposit box to be unlocked when the customer is authorized.
