A system and method of controlling a securable device in a set of securable devices may include establishing a centralized data repository with data representative of status of each securable device. Communications with a mobile kiosk application executing on a mobile device of a user may be established. Responsive to receiving a request from the mobile kiosk to identify an available securable device local and accessible to the user, the centralized data repository may be accessed, at least one securable device that is available may be identified, and data associated with the identified available securable device(s) may be communicated to the mobile kiosk to cause the mobile kiosk to communicate at least a portion of the data to one of the securable device(s). Responsive to receiving a status update of the securable device, the centralized data repository may be updated with the status update of the associated securable device.

Secure smartphone based access and start authorization system for vehicles

A Bluetooth enabled Smartphone may be used for both access control and start authorization in a secure and safe way, and embodiments are backward-compatible with conventional vehicle access and start systems. A smart phone acts as an intermediary authorization device to a code generator which effectively resembles a car key that is installed in a vehicle. A Bluetooth transceiver and the code generatorand, optionally, for the retrofit solution, an RF/LF transceiverare added to the vehicle. The Bluetooth transceiver communicates with the smart phone. The code generator communicates with electronic control units in the vehicle that control access, immobilization, and engine start. The communication may happen via a wired connection or, in the case of the retrofit solution, via an RF/LF transceiver that mimics an additional car key programmed to the vehicle.

System and method for location-based access control

The system includes an electronically controllable access point device and a server. The server includes one or more processors, which are communicatively coupled to the access point device and a portable device. The one or more processors are configured to determine whether a user of the portable device is authorized to access the access point device based on one or more credentials received from the portable device and retrieve a location of the portable device. The one or more processors are further configured to determine whether the location of the portable device is within a pre-defined geographical area. Upon determination of user authorization to the access point device and that the location of the portable device is within the pre-defined geographical area, the one or more processors direct the access point device to provide access to the user.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOCATION-BASED ACCESS CONTROL

The system includes a server including one or more processors, which are communicatively coupled to an access point device and one or more portable devices. The one or more processors are configured to retrieve location data via a sensor of the one or more portable devices configured to interact with one or more identification markers and determine whether a location of the one or more portable devices is within a pre-defined geographical area. Upon determination of the location of the one or more portable devices is within the pre-defined geographical area, the one or more processors receive a callee selection from at least one portable device of the one or more portable devices. Upon receiving a callee selection associated with accepting a request for access, the one or more processors direct the access point device to provide access to a caller.
