The present invention relates to a method that allows a CSCA to enable an iFOB key system once it is turned on by pressing a function button. When the function button is released, the iFOB key system is turned off. The iFOB key system includes the ERFTS, so when the iFOB key system is turned on/off, the ERFTS is also turned on/off. The embodiment of the CSCA has a double-action switch, a triple-action switch, a timer, a timer circuit and all of the circuitries that are associated with an iFOB key. The CSCA controls the length of time that current is allowed to flow from a battery source to an iFOB key system; it is this type of control that prevents an ERFTS and a customer's property from being compromised. The iFOB key system is always in the off position until it is turned on.

A system for a closure lock comprises a battery-powered remote module with a lock mechanism for operating the lock, the remote module communicating with a base station coupled to a closure controller, the base station able to send lock control signals to the remote module to operate the lock. The module is arranged to have an operation mode and a non-operation mode, power consumption in the non-operation mode being lower than that in the operation mode, and is further configured to switch between the modes based on instructions from the base station. In the non-operation mode, the module maintains a communication link with the base station based on a pre-established synchronisation protocol. The invention provides reliability against interference between base station and remote module, whilst greatly limiting the power consumption of the remote module.

METHOD FOR PREVENTING SECURITY BREACHES OF A PASSIVE REMOVE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a method for preventing security breaches of a passive remote keyless entry system for authorizing access to a vehicle. The passive remote keyless entry system comprises a base station located at the vehicle and a mobile device, in particular a remote key, wherein the base station comprises a first processor unit and a first transceiver unit, the first transceiver unit comprises a timing device, the mobile device comprises a second processor unit and a second transceiver unit, an air travel time T of a single message sent back and forth from the base station to the mobile device is measured, and access to the vehicle is granted depending on the measured air travel time T.

Methods and apparatuses for unlocking a motor vehicle having an engine start and/or vehicle entry system

Various embodiments may include systems for unlocking a motor vehicle. For example, an apparatus may include: a motor vehicle key for unlocking a motor vehicle having a remote engine start and/or vehicle entry system. The motor vehicle key comprises a Bluetooth antenna and a motor vehicle communication antenna. A controller of the motor vehicle key is configured to: use the Bluetooth antenna to set up a Bluetooth link to a mobile radio terminal using an activation key stored in a memory of the motor vehicle key; and instruct a motor vehicle controller installed in the motor vehicle to prompt an operation of the motor vehicle.

Mobile device

A mobile device possessed by a user is equipped with: a motion sensor which is capable of detecting the motion of the mobile device; a receiver which is capable of receiving a polling signal transmitted from equipment; and a control unit which is configured so as to set, in response to whether or not the polling signal has been received by the receiver, the sampling speed with which the motion sensor detects the motion of the mobile device.

Vehicle key for passive access systems and corresponding method

A radio key for an access system of a motor vehicle includes a receiver circuit with at least three LF receiver coils for reception of a low frequency signal. The receiver coils are oriented in different spatial directions. A central control circuit includes a microcontroller coupled to the receiver circuit. The control circuit with the microcontroller can assume an energy-reduced resting state and an active operating state. The receiver circuit is configured to awaken the control circuit from the resting state when a signal is received by the LF receiver coils. The central control circuit is configured to activate each of the LF receiver coils separately and to query a received signal strength. The central control circuit then selects the LF receiver coil with the highest signal strength for a subsequent signal reception.

Based on motion of device, perform or limit features

Methods, devices, and systems are provided for performing and/or limiting features based on a determined motion associated with a portable device. When the portable device is determined to be in motion, a feature control application running on the portable device prevents at least one radio frequency identification (RFID) component of the device from communicating with RFID reading devices. When the portable device is still, or not in motion, the feature control application running on the portable device prevents the at least one RFID component of the device from communicating with RFID reading devices. Among other things, this feature control of a portable device can prevent theft of data in an access control system, credit payment system, and/or other data transfer system.

Universal Locking Device
