LIFT AND METHOD FOR USE OF A LIFT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME

A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.

MRI Transfer Station and Dock

A patient table adapted for use in association with an MR scanner for neonatal infants is provided. The patient table has an extendable patient bed attached to and extendable from the patient table. The patient bed may be at least partially inserted into an MR scanner without requiring the patient table to enter the MR scanner. A transport mechanism is on the underside of the patient table so that it may be readily moved over the floor on which it rests. The patient table includes a latching mechanism that may operate to releasably attach the patient table to a patient table docking assembly. The docking assembly is operative to selectively move the patient table towards, into and away from the MR scanner.

MRI COMPATIBLE PATIENT TROLLEY

A trolley system configured to transport a patient within an MRI environment includes a patient support portion, a base portion configured for movement relative to a floor, a lift coupled to the patient support portion and the base portion, an electric motor coupled to the lift, and an electric blower coupled to the patient transfer device. The lift is configured to change the elevation of the patient support portion relative to the base portion. The motor is mounted such that the elevation of the motor is fixed relative to base portion. The trolley system is positionable adjacent an MRI apparatus within the MRI environment and the magnetic field of the MRI does not interfere with the operation of the motor or blower. The trolley system may further include a patient transfer device having an air bearing. The blower is configured to deliver air to the air bearing.

The invention relates to a transfer device with a roll cloth for transferring patients, wherein the roll cloth has a tubular sleeve with two open ends. In order to satisfy high standards of hygiene and to permit easy cleaning, the roll cloth has, at each of the open ends of the sleeve, a peripheral end profile with an inner face and an outer face, which end profile is elastic, wherein, in the ready-to-use state of the roll cloth, the inner face of an upper portion of the end profile lies on the inner face of a lower portion of the end profile.

Automated adjustments for patient support apparatus

An automated system and methods are provided for coordinating a transfer of a patient between patient support apparatuses. The system includes first and second patient support apparatuses having a patient support surface supported by an adjustable frame. A controller is provided and is configured to communicate with at least one of the first and second patient support apparatuses. The controller includes programmable instructions to coordinate automated movements of at least one of the patient support apparatuses in order to couple the support apparatuses at a preferential transfer position, engage or monitor at least one safety feature, and provide an indication that it is safe to transfer the patient between the first and second patient support apparatuses.

A transfer assist board apparatus to facilitate the transfer of a physically challenged person from one location to another has a foot plate rotably connected to a base plate. The perimeter shape of the apparatus is non-circular and has an indentation to provide a space for a care giver to place a foot to step close to the person to assist the transfer. The base plate provides a stop feature to constrain the rotation of the foot plate.
